Sally Jenkins again hammers Goodell and Wells Report

if goodell is terminated after all this, it might be all worth it.

Jeff Pash dismissed the leaks as "eventually the correct numbers was released and there was a lot of misinformation out there" to tom curran..

Thats what ticks me off. Pash was flat-out lying to Curren here. Unless I'm having a middle-aged moment, I do not ever remember Pash or the NFL issuing a presser stating the actual measurements.

I assume he was referring to the actual measurements being included in the Wells Report.

When Goodell’s press conference ended, I spoke to league attorney Jeff Pash, who worked with Wells on the investigation.

After telling me he was amused that I described him as Goodell’s “lead nut-twister,” Pash agreed that Mortensen’s 11 of 12 report was “a flashpoint” but, Pash added, “All the information did get out, including the correct numbers.”

“Four months later,” I countered.

“There were a lot of things that were out there that weren’t accurate,” said Pash.

Great. That helps ..

Allowing those leaks to remain unaddressed when they had the correct data all along and even going as far as providing NE the numbers on the condition that they could not share them until the report came out is far worse than the simple existence of misinformation.

Since we cannot assume ignorance on Pash's part, we must conclude that he is deflecting.

I keep reading that and wish I had Photoshop skills.... Someone really needs to take the Eric Cartman "You will respect my authority!" picture that has the cop sunglasses and superimpose Goodell's face on it. That's truly Goodell in a nutshell.

Here you go.

I've been e-mailing and texting the Washington Post link to lots of people this afternoon. I'm out west and I know a lot of non-Pats fans who think they are guilty 'cause that's how the media has portrayed it.

Let's keep spreading the word!

Oh, I agree. The fact that they only gave the correct numbers to the Pats on the condition that they not disclose them is ridiculous, and seems like a pretty clear indicator of their intentions.

I am starting to love this woman.. great read!

Every journalist dreams of breaking some huge story or conspiracy, or being one of the few voices of reason who turns out to be correct. Then during one of the (sadly) biggest news stories of the year, there is evidence right under the noses of every journalist in America that shows the majority opinion is dead wrong, yet there are so few Sally Jenkins's out there. Deflategate has caused me to think that journalism is overall about as scummy as the financial industry, and now I understand how totalitarian states can so easily take over the gutless press.

I always thought reporters tried... until 1991. OT: I ran a quick chess tournament. (G/15 if anyone knows what that means, and we are talking old style analog clocks with flags.) Reporter who showed up, played, and was there for the whole thing, did not just get it wrong, got it so absurdly wrong you wondered if she was ******ed or something.

The problem was and is the media. They ran blind and ruined legacies and reputations. Let's hope Goodell comes to his senses soon. If the report is junk and invalid, then they should get the picks back and money. People say that's impossible, and I don't know why.

We can blame the media all we want, but in this case they did not run blind, rather they were led by the false leaks from the NFL* which i believe were orchestrated by NFL* league office with the full knowledge of what they were doing and it would result in the fire storm they desired. The NFL* created the LYNCH mob and then controlled it for three months going so far as demanding Kraft could only get the real PSI #s if he swore not to release them to the press. This frame was run like a CIA PSYOP'S operation. But now that the dust has settled the chickens are beginning to come home to roost.

Any editor or producer could have stepped in and said we are not running this. You have some good points but I put the blame on the media for blindly following any morsel.

when something so detailed as a 243 page report is wrong in the way this one is wrong, those on the warpath can bring fraud to the party......it was one thing for the NFL front office to handle the abuse scandals the way it did........that one could claim incompetence. this one with the money spent and the report generated does cross the line of intent.

CIVIL RICO BABY, this would get the 31 to begin to quiver were the sun don't shine.

Completely disagree. Nothing of the sort is worth a first rounder. BB is worth a first rounder. As is Willie Mac. Not the firing of a buffoon.

ugh, i forgot about the draft picks....

Roger be looking like this...

No surprise here, anyone who takes their time to read the report will find it half-baked at best.

Kraft seems like the Pats second worst enemy.
