Reports: Brady wants entire suspension removed, and is seeking to be fully exonerated

The judge was quite a cat as well... Can you imagine that trial in this age of TMZ ?

Back to Brady. I don't trust "news" reports - doubly so from Sal Pal, I don't trust the court system to understand the irrelevance of the PSI level and the shoddy "science", and I don't trust the commish. We'll see. But everything about this entire story has been BS from the start.

There's got to be an investigative reporter working on an expose of goodell right now, with unnamed sources gladly talking behind this guys back. A real tell all, with all involved with quotes ratting on ecah other might do more to dislodge him from his post than any legal proceeding.

The guy's a collossal liar, and farkup in public, imagine what would come out about him behind the scenes?

If this goes to a real court of law with real accountability I bet Brady will respect the process and allow his phone to be examined by qualified and fair individuals who do this kind of thing regularly.

Yeah not the NFL or Wells or anyone within the Commish's pockets.

Sometime in the near future......

Reporter:So Tom now that you been exonerated and your suspension lifted its time to focus on the 2015 reg season right?

Brady:Yeah for me it will, my lawyers will be working on my defamation
case.

Reporter:But Tom I don't understand you won!

Brady:Yeah but something is missing like a slam dunk or better yet
a Gronk spike. (all smiles)

The core question is whether the "cost" of having the report, league staff and officials of both the colts and ravens ripped apart in open court is greater than the cost of his "looking bad," taking his lumps and hoping to survive as Commissioner. Sometimes the only viable decision is to to write off your sunk costs.
Yet some people are so stubborn as to have blinders on and would rather pull a Thelma and Louise off the cliff than admit to being wrong and face the humiliation....I think Roger is in that category and as I wrote before it will take a court order to smack him back to reality. I honestly think he will be shocked if a Federal Judge tells him this is crap. His sycophants and yes men must have him believing all is well.......

I've always believed Brady would go all the way on this. That's just Brady. Never gives up.

As far as Kraft. Whatever. If he was so sure Brady would be exonerated than why give away a million dollars and precious draft picks? Fung gu Mr Kraft. No bit of damage pr damage control is going to help you for a long time although his ring ceremony at his house is pretty freaking cool.

If the PR people time it right, it will be released the day or two before the appeal hearing. time enough to give it legs.....

Not only that, he cheaped out on the rings: 150 of them at $36,500 per. Embarrassing. Everyone should give their rings back to him...

He will gladly spend money on the rings because that is easy and he likes to show off. But when it comes to actually taking a stand he caves. What is so hard to understand?.

I understand it all perfectly. What led you to believe I didn't?

That has to be a record. 5.4 mil on SB rings.

He hasn't gone "all the way" and I still believe he won't. A report from Sal Pal is worthless.

Image what would happen if he just starts in game 1 against the Steelers if his suspension isn't overturned.

What would they do then?

Probably suspend the entire team for the season.

Funny, but can't happen. The game wouldn't proceed.

Wonder who the leak is for this. NFL or Brady's camp. somehow, I figure it would be the NFL, but can't see a reason for it....other than continued stupidity.

Go Brady. I'll take zero games, public apology, and Goodie's balls in a jar (you know, if he has any).

I think it's a Brady leak, to warn Goodell that a reduced suspension won't buy him off.

If Goodell wants to leave some kind of penalty in place to save face, with Brady accepting it, it will have to be for non-cooperation only as opposed to cheating (DEFINITELY) and involve only a fine (probably).

To be clear, I'm not expecting things to work out that way. But Goodell could make a try in that direction, and of course the more he reduces the penalty the less bad the worst-case scenario (i.e. a lost court appeal) would be.

Anyone thinking Brady would accept a 1 game suspension should note the article states he wants not just a suspension revocation, but also full exoneration. Accepting any penalty whatsoever is not exoneration at all. Brady is going the distance.

That's his stated negotiating position as of this leak.

Whether he'd settle for a penalty solely for non-cooperation is a different matter.

Hmm. Maybe Goodell will try to sneak that by, and Brady will turn around and go to court on the theory that the penalty for non-cooperation conflicts with the CBA. :)

I've done a fair bit of this kind of thing in the past, and still allow myself a handful of now-usually-unmentioned peeves (my current favorite is often seen here, our good friend "for all intensive purposes" :p).

When it comes to Brady, all his purposes are intensive. He doesn't know any other way to live.

There's a difference between handing your phone over to a biased investigation whose mandate from the league is to bring you down by any means necessary and handing your phone over to an accountable court of law. Brady didn't do the former because he's not a moron, he knew all the leaks coming out of the league office and knew that his personal and financial information would be at risk if the league had full impunity to just tear into his phone looking for anything. If this goes to a real court of law with real accountability I bet Brady will respect the process and allow his phone to be examined by qualified and fair individuals who do this kind of thing regularly.

In essence, the NFL is an employer here, demanding an employee's private telephone, then punishing him for not providing it. There's no way that's OK unless the CBA clearly gives them that right. So it's surely a matter for labor law litigation.

He hasn't gone "all the way" and I still believe he won't. A report from Sal Pal is worthless.

It's all a matter of opinion. You say he won't, I say he will. In the grand scheme of things if this isn't reduced to a level that Brady feels comfortable with I have no reason to believe he won't.

As his Pre super bowl speech eludes to honor for his family, I'm certain his legacy means that much to him and for his wife and children. He won't budge on this.
