Spikes Selling His 2011 AFC Championship Ring on Ebay.

He may be yet another lesson about how quickly money comes and goes for professional athletes. There's a reason he's selling that... and I don't think it's out of spite either.

he should put that suit he wore on the superbowl flight. that would fetch a few dollars more.

Poor bastard wasn't here at the right time to get one of these. He'd have made a lot more.

Patriots next SB ring will be a necklace :D

I don't think it's a big deal. It's not like it's a Superbowl ring. I think the highest he can get for it is probably right now while people know him. AFC Championship game rings are probably not something that increase in value at all.

I have also never seen anyone flash their conference championship ring. I don't think players care about it and I don't really blame them. It's cool to maybe bust out a baggie full of them, but just one? If Spikes doesn't have the kind of money where he would buy a ring for 20K, which if he's smart he doesn't, then he should sell it.

This ring is freaking awesome. Best ring I've ever seen. You can't make something as ostentatious as this unless it's the 4th with one quarterback and coach. This is just bad ass.

I had no idea there were rings for the conference win.

Were the Colts behind this new rule sometime in the past? .....Hedging their bets?

Agree completely.

I feel badly for Spikes. He's likely spent most of his money (q.v. choice of auto) and has zero cash flow coming in right now vs what he expected. I know the NFL has orientation sessions for rookies that briefly cover stuff like money management, but these young people are clueless in that regard. His life is headed at 120 mph in the direction of a complete mess. If he is convicted of a felony his future employment prospects are dismal.

Let's give thanks that we were not injudicious enough to put ourselves in a unnecessary situation where a moment's really bad judgement completely ruined our careers & lives.

Glad the people in the front auto we not seriously injured, maimed or killed.

Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying as being disrespectful to that Patriots team, but I wouldn't pay a penny for a CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP ring, its the equivalent of a silver medal or a second place trophy. If you want to make the point that the diamonds and jewelery have value, okay i get that, but who the hell wants a second place ring?

The Dolts?

The Dolts?

They'd probably have a trophy presentation where Irsay drunkely stumbles to the podium, stopping to puke in a trash can along the way, and delivers Luck his amateur bowler's cup trophy filled with Xanax, hydrocodone, and other various schedule 1's.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. He was driving 120 miles an hour. He should count his blessings he doesn't have to think about dead babies every day of his life.

Spikes should have thought of the car's stolen excuse, it's pretty much wasted on a ring.

Too bad Ty Law copyrighted the "it was my cousin" excuse.

Just because he's selling his ring doesn't mean he's broke. I don't know his financial situation but I vaguely remember his Patriot money. He could have a 400 thousand dollar house and 400~800 thousand in the bank. Who knows? He did make money, just not superstar money. I would try to get 20 more thousand for a lame AFC Championship game ring if I was in that situation.

Nothing against AFC Championships but they're not really a ring thing
