Just HOW Incompetent and UNETHICAL Is MCI (Ben Volin)?

The sad thing is Volin is too ****ing stupid to learn. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make this mistake again in the future.

I can't wait for his next set of "breaking" stories, like:

- Tom Brady NOT an original member of the Brady Bunch
- Are we really sure that Kraft Foods Group and Kraft Group are two different things?
- Did the Patriots meet Obama or Osama at the White House?
- Deflategate defense only based on science, ignores creationism
- Seriously, are you really really sure Kraft Foods Group and Kraft Group are different???
- Patriots could have won the Super Bowl by more if they kept Mankins
- How to use Google to lern thingz
- But they totally spell Kraft the exact same way and both have the word Group in them and are in the same Google search

Volin shouldn't apologize to his readers (all 3 of them). He should be apologizing to his parents for ****ting all over the family name.

You would be hard pressed to find 3 fans of Ben Volin.

He is sounded less like a journalist and more like the anti-Patriots fans that post their drivel on forums with out any regards to logic or truth.

He is an anti-Patriots, dolphins homer.

Dude he's been doing it since he got in town. He made a fool out of himself over the Collins blocked kick against Miami in Foxboro. The way he was going on about it there is no way anyone could see what he was writing and how stubborn he was and think he wasn't a dolphins fan. Which btw mutliple people proved him wrong.

How do you screw up something like this, good god Volin is awful.

Lol tho, Jeff Howe sitting somewhere like.

Almost 12 hours later, Volin's original, incorrect tweet is still up. Someone asked him about it and this was his response:

"I’ve thought about it but I don’t want to give the impression that I’m hiding from the error"

I don't know if that's the right approach. If he deletes it and leaves up his apology, that kind of emphasizes that that the original tweet was wrong. If he leaves it up, someone is going to think "Maybe there is something to it because it was never deleted."

People like Volin are not incompetent. They have just realized that an easy way to grt people to read his stuff is just to write something provocative whether it is true or not. One can always use the "we all make errors" excuse afterwards if necessary. Professional journalism needs to either hold themselves to a higher standard or their entire profession will be disreputed by guys like Volin. I would even suggest that lawmakers start thinking about legal standards for professional journalism.

He's truly an idiot. Someone could write up an article on a news site referencing his still-up tweet as their source. He himself has done this. Why wouldn't he delete it??

This was incompetence.

He is most certainly incompetent perhaps even simple. His body of work is less impressive than a 3 year old's finger-painting (who would probably do a better job reporting on the Patriots).

Volin was on his way to document the ring ceremony at Kraft's house, but ended up at a macaroni & cheese factory. He blamed Google Maps for the error. "I typed Kraft!"

This works...

"I was wrong. I had a momentary lapse of reason...I have no idea what I was thinking. I will do better next time."

Everyone screws up. Admitting it and committing yourself to do better goes a LONG way.

even funny part is that he thinks he is breaking some news about kraft and aei and feels he is so competent that no one has found this connection yet in over 48 hrs and now other media member has been emailed other than him... hilarious.
His sources are , A)Other reporters B)people who email him C)google.

+1.

Talk about a employee who is simply mailing it in........

Sorry no. For a layman like me it might be incompetence. For a professional it is negligence.

It was incompetence. He did an inadequate job, clearly. It's definitional.

I'm not disagreeing. To be honest, I haven't bothered clicking on anything else after reading 2 or 3 of his pieces so it doesn't surprise me, but I can't be bothered to keep up with every stupid thing he writes.
