Time to Play the Game: What if Belichick Did That?

Happened to see that Warriors' coach Steve Kerr admitted to lying to the media before game 4 of the NBA Finals, lying about who would start.

"Sorry, but I don't think they hand you the trophy based on morality," Kerr said. "They give it to you if you win."

So, let's see, what level of mortal outrage would we be looking at if Belichick lied and then laughed about it after like that? On a scale of 1-10, I'd guess an 85.

It would necessitate a rule change by the competition committee... and Goodell would launch an investigation that would cost millions to determine if this is a pattern.

ESPN would label the Pats as cheating/liars and Marshal Faulk would not need to get his viagra refilled this month...

People would complain but also expect it.

The fact that some in the media think Kerr did anything wrong is appalling. He'd be an idiot and derelict in his duties if he told his opponent his strategy ahead of time.

Kerr was doing his job and caused no harm to anyone with his statement. Anyone who charactizes this as "lying" doesn't understand the moral implications of actual dishonesty. In many cases, we call people who think this way "sportswriters."

You'd probably get fined because the corrupt owners of the corrupt commissioner need to know where to set the line
