I mentioned earlier that Burr's profanity takes away from his podcast.

That doesn't mean that I didn't listen.

Best line; If Dan Marino f***d Brett Favre you'd get Peyton Manning.

Ugh, why did I read that thread?

Everytime I decide to deliberately ignore peoples' idiot-syncracies, I inevitably run into a school of morons such as the above, and lose a little more faith in this nation's populous and the human race in general.

Do morons run in schools?

I'd think flocks or herds would be more likely.

A douche of colts is my guess. For the Ravens, it's instructive that a group of crows is called a "murder." Much funnier before the Hernandez thing.

You nailed it PFinV! Hopefully, a "douche of Colts" catches on and becomes part of the lexicon.

I'm also thinking that the appropriate term for a group of morons would be a "blither".

there's already a word for that, "media"

Like a "blither of media" or a "media of morons"?

That works.

Also, for our other favorite franchise, a group of Jets would be a "fester".

How about a "corruption" of NFL* executives?

I won't provide a link but Kravitz has a column going after Patriots fans for making a deal out of this. Really it's a rambling piece of crap (of course)but his central point (I think) is: Sure, the Colts celebrate there runner-up status, but look at the Patriots .. .they have a banner for a 16-0 regular season and how did that end? Seriously? Lessee, by math there have been 98 teams that have been "Super Bowl Finalists" or whatever the hell the Colts say they were. Meanwhile, only one team has ever gone 16-0 (and, by the way, had the courage to pursue it.)

Kravitz tries to spin it like it is nothing out of the ordinary.

Maybe it is nothing out of the ordinary, for the COLTS, but (and correct me if I am wrong) no other pro sports team in America commemorates mere playoff appearances with banners. The Colts are UNIQUELY moronic in this custom.

Reading the Colt forums on this issue ... they are mostly not happy with this at all ... so there's that.

They are still trying to recapture the edge they had with Manning - Freeny - Mathis- Harrison - Wayne & James and they are doing a lousy job with it..

New article up on ESPN Boston from the Colts saying they deserve to have the banners up because "a playoff season is hard."

Wow, awesome!!!! So should New England have a banner for every friggin year they've made the playoffs for the last two decades? They would run out of damn ceiling...

Yup, another Wells Report inspired by pathetic Colts behavior that somehow manages to make it end up being about the Patriots:

"It's very hard in the National Football League to win," Pete Ward, Indy's chief operating officer, told ESPN.com on Friday.....The Patriots, meanwhile, famously raised a "16-0 Regular Season Record" banner for 2007, even though their quest for perfection that season ended with a Super Bowl XLII loss to the New York Giants."

Information from ESPN.com Colts reporter Mike Wells was used in this report.

What's the etiquette for wearing 4 or more championship rings at a time?

Do you spread out the bling like so:

or do you make one awesomely blinged-out hand, even if some fingers need to do double duty?

What do Colts do?

Oh wait, they've only faced the mighty Rex Grossman once.

They do get rings, like this:

All of this time I thought that the AFC Finalist flags were a joke.

The playoffs that Ward Cleaver thinks is such a magnificent accomplishment has been achieved against three teams who all have a career regular season AND playoff record under 500. And under Luck Indy has faced those teams at their worst.

How pathetic.

Think about their two "wild card loser" banners. Yes, they are real.

The 4 wild card teams are teams ranked/seeded 9-12 in the league in the playoff pecking order. Two of them win, two of them lose.

A wild card loser thus finishes tied for 11th out of 32 teams. So the message forever to tell your grandkids, as they look in the rafters and ask is to say: "Woo-hoo, son, we were almost in the top third of the league that year, and we tried really really hard!"

^^^^
1 stolen banner
8 joke banners- 2 for being wild card participants

I honestly believed the whole "Finalist" bit was a cruel joke on the Colts. Of course, it was a device of their own making! And it demonstrates the frustration of Indy ownership; that it cannot demand instant satisfaction and like an unmatured man-child, venting out in most peculiar fashion(s).
