Should we place a higher value on RB next year?

We've usually had smaller G's who are great in pass protection and the screen game. They usually don't get much of a push and that makes it difficult to run the ball. Regardless of who your RB is.

If we have an interior of Fleming-Stork-Jackson, backed up by Shaquille Mason. A higher quality RB might really give us that pass/run option as TB12 rides off into the sunset.

Ezekiel Elliot. Come on down!!

We can only guess, but withe them not drafting a RB at all, they seem to be pretty confident with their depth. If they're right, we won't need to next year.

I was sure tevin Coleman was destined to be a Patriot.

I felt like this draft was set up for the back 9 of Brady's career. Dominant front 7 that can hopefully get off the field quickly, and a mammoth offensive line for protection, and veteran skill guys brady can count on.

It would be nice to have it all (dominating secondary, number 1 wr/rb) but I feel like this team is set up well to protect brady in different ways that wasn't possible before.

Have to see what they have and see how the new guys do on the oline.

Got Blount for another year. Have no idea what we have in Gray and Gaffney. Almost certain at this point that Bolden can run for a 150 on the Colts now. Wasn't particulary impressed with the small sample from White but that's a little premature on my part.

Honestly I'm hoping myself that Gaffney and or Gray both turn out be productive workhorses while White turns out to be as shifty as Vereen.

Hopefully they all work out cuz I thought they passed on some really good prospects this weekend.

Gaffney intrigues me. I think the 2nd spot behind Blount will come down to him or Gray. Bolden gets the 3rd slot because of experience and ST play. Cadet and White fight it out for the 4th slot. I've heard others mention it. I'm kicking the tires on Ahmad Bradshaw if he's healthy. He was playing well until he broke his foot against us in the Sunday Night Game.

I'd be over the moon if they somehow managed to land Elliot when he declares.

It's not a great RB class next year is it?

Elliot and maybe Derrick Henry are 1st's but other than that....

If Gaffney is healthy and didn't lose a step from his injury i'm almost certain he'll be the starting RB before the year ends. He's exactly the kind of RB BB loves to have. He hardly ges tackled behind the LOS, and if he see's the hole he hits it.

He's 5'11 225lbs, he's got the size, and supposedly a 3 down back that can receive out of the backfield a bit (although he hardly did it in college) He won't take many runs to the house, but he's gonna grind defenses down.

If I can compare him to any other back its probably Alfred Morris.

It was pointed out that there are several vet FAs RBs that are not too old, and well established, and both pass catchers and between the tackle runners. Keeshown Moreno, CJ2K, and Pierre Garcon are only a few of them. IOW, I don't think the last shoe has dropped in talent acquisition for RB.

Adding any one of them and the RBBC improves dramatically.

Pierre Garcon? The skins wideout?? Do you mean Pierre Thomas?

It should have been _this_ year. Tevin Coleman was sitting pretty at the end of the second round. Come on, Bill, what were you thinking? If you were so enamored with Jordan Richards, you had ample opportunity even in the next round to grab him.

I have a feeling Pats fans will regret not taking the dynamic RB out of Indiana who had the marginal offensive line. Tevin Coleman would have had an IMMEDIATE impact if he stays healthy. Almost eight yards a carry? Forty faster than any of the Pats WRs, with a 4.40? Speedy Vereen only ran a 4.5 at the Combine. He must have been slightly injured. (Dobson ran a 4.42 and 4.40 at his Marshall pro day and Tyms did a 4.48.)

Now I realize why so many here were so high on Coleman. Good job, Falcons, getting good value and an immediate starter. My pick for offensive rookie of the year.

I do like Tyler Gaffney to come in and play. PatsfaninPenn is right, he's intriguing, with good upside.

It's disappointing, though, we took Jordan Richards when there were players like Tevin Coleman, AJ Cann, and Jaelen Strong still available. Of the three, I would have leaned Coleman or Cann. Taking pressure off Tom Brady with a run game is just what the doctor ordered. Coleman is our replacement for Shane Vereen.

I want to believe in Belichick but this pick looks shakier to me by the day. I hope Richards proves me wrong and is more than a STer for years to come.

Nick Chubb? Maybe he declares for the draft next year?

He's just a soph. That's going to be a great class for the 2017 draft though. His teammate Sony Michel. Fournette from LSU. Perine-Oklahoma. Dalvin Cook - FSU.

I really think it would be best to draft an rb early next year. If we're able to draft and sign some skill players who can play, it will allow JimmyG to come in after Brady retires and not necessarily have to completely shoulder the load (althoughI hope he can come in and play at an pro level lol).

It should be more of a consideration due to the projected lack of needs they should have next year.

Sign Solder, restructure Amendola & Dobson works out and QB, OL, WR and TE are set with the only question on O being RB.

I could see them using their highest pick on a CB though if a guy falls or a LB if Mayo leaves.

I would say if I had to guess right now our main needs next year will be

#1 CB
#2 RB
#3 WR

(I think Amendola leaves but Mayo stays)

I can see that. I'd love to get Mohammed Sanu if DA walks. Tackle could be a priority if Vollmer isn't healthy. Need to address cb in free agency too. Sanu and Sean Smith. BB appears to have a great eye for tackles; Light, Vollmer and Solder. Don't forget O'Callahan from Cal. He looked like a great pick before his head injury. Maybe, a move-up for a at.
