Goodell's letter response to the NFLPA...6/2/2015

We don't need to defend the team. they're the best team in the game despite whatever roadblocks the misguided fuhrer tries to throw in front of us.
Seriously I feel like a large percentage of the people on this board have this inferiority complex. Always feeling the need to be validated. News flash the fans of other teams are never going to admit how great the pats are. Just isn't going to happen. So they will use whatever they can as a crutch. And if that bothers you, you really need to get a life

I told you. Instead of the news focusing on the union's successful appeal they would focus on the hopeless Kraft appeal, ultimately giving a PR victory to Goodell among the stupid fans that don't realize there's really no appeal for an owner except to beg.

Kraft is management and the successful appeal will come from the players. Another reason to stay out of it.
The media will focus on whatever they want. Bob laying down is just as likely to make it harder to win the PR battle.

Bob taking up his role as management despite the wrongful damage that has been done to his team and Brady is the problem. Him breaking ranks and supporting Brady would likely do far more to help than hurt.

No, Kraft won't be in the news.

No, Kraft is not in the players union. He's management. Actively supporting the players union as they try to tear goodell and the owners a new one would be ridiculous and stupid.

On the other hand taking advantage of the league and goodell's weakened position and possible labor strife before the next union contract would be a natural position for Kraft, since he rescued numbnuts when he messed it up last contract. something like that could upset the gravy train and be the type of thing where he could gain enough support to get rid of goodell, which is the only thing to do, ultimately IMO.

I don't think it was a plan at all. He told the league they should apologize when they appeared to be trying to justify nonsense allegations.

I think he was truly shocked by the punishment, as we all were and he had some strong words and published the rebuttal to welles report.

After that, I think he calmed down enough to consult with advisors and lawyers about what he could do, and they told him nothing. Nothing he couldn't do at the owners meeting by telling Goodell he should reduce the penalty. the reason is, the appeal would be exactly the same.

"Here's the rebuttal to the report, there is no evidence of anything, you have no choice but to reduce the penalty."

At that point, Goodell, hearing the appeal of his own case based on no evidence would say...
No.

Appeal over.

We don't really know what the results would be if Kraft didn't roll over and die for Goodell and Kraft's favorite team, the NFL.

What we do know is that Kraft first defended our team and then totally capitulated, and that has ticked many of us off. I'd also be willing to bet that you are in a small minority among Pats fans on this.

There are also Pats fans who are seriously contemplating dumping this team and league over this. I've been with them for 55 years (long before Kraft or his buddy Goodell came along) and it's more probable than not that I'll call it quits when Brady leaves.

We shouldn't have to defend this team but our owner has made that a big part of being a Pats fan.

Kraft the elder likely won't be part of the next CBA as this one runs through 2020 (when he will be 79 years old) and much could happen in the next 5 years..........

We can only hope that Jonathan has inherited the moral fiber of his mother and that there is a team left after BB and Brady leave. It is apparent that the Putz doesn't mind giving up first round draft picks to please his partners.

Sorry, Jonathan said appealing that judgment was futile.

I had read it was 3 more years. Guess it will be Jonathan, then.

Do you really think he was going to show up his father after the putz conceded. I saw a report he was kicking the wall when his father made the decision.

Yep, and a lot of posters are acting like Kraft is their daddy or something. I never cared about him, knew little about his wife, so didn't put her in my avatar, think he looks silly with the new girlfriend, but she's legal, so that's his business.

I think he was as shocked as me with this punishment and had to reevaluate his options for actually helping the situation. In a rigged court, he'd lose and "prove" we were guilty, so he didn't appeal IMO.

To me, an owner has the money [and I didn't fault sullivan because without his cheapass bid, there's no team] gets a good coach/F.O team and gets out of the way.

Financing a stadium yourself in the hopeless political climate of greater Boston is a bonus and the only reason we're not the St Louis Pats.

Kraft was so sure the controversy and investigation were crap, he demanded an apology. After the shock of reality, he had egg on his face. Who among us hasn't misjudged a situation?

You are going to interpret every single thing to promote your idea of what happened or could happen and that is your right.

Goodell flipped the bird to the NFLPA. I believe they will come after him and take no prisoners.

Just like you. We will see who is right in the end.

"That's always a concern that the NFLPA and Tom Brady may not have shared interests here," said McCann." They clearly are of the same mind, but Tom Brady is in a different position. Tom Brady may feel as if a two-game suspension or a one-game suspension would be okay with him. Whereas the Players Association is worried about precedent. They're worried about the fact that if Tom Brady can get a four-game suspension and then reduced, that creates a precedent the Players Association may not want. It's possible the Players Association and Tom Brady could end up disagreeing."

BS
Tom is not going to accept any suspension as it besmirches his legacy

Nearly 100% of all non-Patriots fans take Kraft's decision not to fight the NFL as an outright admission of at least some guilt on the part of the Patriots franchise.

The haters mantra has become "Take your deserved punishment, Tom Brady. After all, your boss has already ratted you out".

Kraft appealing, even with a 100% chance of losing, would have been far preferable to Kraft quitting. He chose money over integrity.

Love the Kensil Jetsinsider shot. Can't think of a more anti Patriots site on the web, complete with weekly cheating theories. It's good to know that the NFL is in capable hands.

Name a sport where a team or individual pkayer isn't looking for a competitive advantage. Even the Jets.......problem is it still doesn't help them win. Pressure out of a ball cheating............"too funny.

This article above is a waste of bytes in a database, the guy needed to say something to fill a column and had nothing to say, then he says the NFLPA and Brady may share interests or may not.
