Kraft Quotes Today

Krafty Bob strikes again... He's here all week try the veal! He'll charge you twice and keep change!

Belichick would've given an answer not much different. He just avoided giving an answer, just differently than "we're on to next year."
Belichick's not the owner.

I remember reading a story that said something about Kraft telling Brady that he couldn't pay him top dollar when his contract was up last time. If that's true then that explains a lot of these stupid statements coming from Kraft. You pay the greatest QB of all time whatever he wants.
Yeah, and then you won't be able to sign anyone else. This league has a salary cap. In other words, you can't exceed a certain amount of total payroll.

I never could have imagined that my buddy Bob would ruin the NFL for me and kill my passion for the Pats. But alas, the little prick did.

I may not even make it to 10,000 posts now.

Damn you Bob.

In reading the whole article Reiss posted, I don't think this particular quote is fair. It looks wishy-washy, but when viewed alongside everything else, it seems clearer to me that Kraft is supporting Brady & the team. He's not doing so passionately, but I wouldn't expect that from Bob Kraft. He's putting out statements that won't ruffle any other owner's feathers, but still support his guys.

That was not "supporting his guys".

While I understand that after his abject, pathetic capitulation he'd look even more idiotic if he started with firebreathing rhetoric, he still could have and should have "supported his guys" by saying something like:

We'll have to see how it goes. I hope that Tom will be able to play in the opener, especially since I don't believe he did anything wrong.

Hardly inflammatory.

Or if "I don't believe he did anything wrong" would have upset the delicate sensibilities of the other 31 and their fans that Bobby values more highly than his own, he could just leave that sentence off.

Either way, it's way better than the "deserving" crap he peddled.

I disagree. BB does not use weasel words or pat himself on the back. He would say nothing or we will play with the players we have not "those that deserve to play" BS.

I think Belichick often says things like "players who deserve to make this team will make it" (although that's not a direct quote). Even Brady says he has to fight for and deserve his roster spot. How is this any different?
Just because most of you have a negative opinion about Kraft doesn't make his comment wrong, he basically avoided talking about it much like Belichick does. If Belichick had said this, would you be just as angry?

Kraft realized that he was accepted into an exclusive, billionaires club, that very few get a chance to even dream about being in. The owners are one big "owner". The dollar is the ultimate goal. Get the fans to buy their product. Not Brady, not BB, not you or me. Money!!! They've made it so obvious that It's insulting to even want to buy into it. It's a shame. Very conflicting emotions. But damn, I just want them to lose

Has he shown any public support for Tom since his 31 comment?
My feeling is Kraft has to have inside info that will (or would) implicate Brady in some way. No other explanation for his throwing Brady under the bus like he has. NONE.

If I'm wrong and Brady is fully exonerated, I will have a very hard time rooting for any team that Kraft owns. If Brady is in fact innocent, then Kraft is the most unforgivably shameless owner in the history of the NFL--throwing a guy under the bus who, along with Belichick, has made this franchise; the ultimate team player and competitor, who has repeatedly re-structured more than any other QB ever has for the sake of of his team and for the sake of winning. All things considered, Brady is and has been the most valuable QB in the NFL for going on 15 years and will probably go down as the GOAT, not to mention the ultimate team player.

If in fact Kraft turns out to be the spineless coward he appears to be at the moment, I will root for Brady to be successful, but Kraft won't get a red cent from me ever again.

Late to the thread as I had surgery at Mass E&E today but Kraft is further beclowning himeself with each statement.

Were I Tom Brady (my wife would be ecstatic, but I digress) I would be wicked pissed at the lukewarm if that "support" from the guy I made into a billionaire. I would be motivated as hell to continue my suit against the league to the very end.

It's about Honor. Respect.

I don't have the same negative reaction to the Kraft comments that so many have. My sense is that he tried to be neutral so as not to stir up further anger in the commissioner's office as the Brady hearing approaches. Kraft would have been better off saying nothing at all, since he abdicated his right to go all in on demanding that Brady be reinstated by the opener.

Kraft knows that he is on sidelines now, and never really had a place to appeal the loss of the draft picks and the $1 million fine. Kraft took himself out of the game by capitulating. The real game now, and from the beginning, was the NFLPA going after the Commissioner's assumption of power to investigate, indict, convict and punish players with no objective, dispassionate review based on the players' rights as collectively bargained.

The real game plan is being developed by Brady's legal advisors and the NFLPA. There is no doubt that Goodell cannot serve as an impartial mediator as the one who commissioned and chose the investigator. He can't possibly be credible in any disagreement over the validity and strength of the Wells report.

The fact remains that there is no proof that Tom Brady asked that the balls be deflated below the allowable limit. The NFLPA has the right to file a grievance with the NLRB over the suspension on multiple grounds, and will surely do so either before the June 23 hearing or immediately after, unless Goodell overturns the entire suspension.

Kraft knows this. But Kraft also knows he has no say in how this will turn out. It's time to say nothing and wait for the fireworks to begin on June 23rd.

This is another example of why I've become more of a lurker than participant. It's hard to keep interested when the fans seem to care more about the team and its players than the owner. Most of what I hear, see or read about the Pats usually just makes me annoyed, angry, or pissed off, since the owner has informed me that he has accepted that I am a fan of a team that cheats, regardless of the lack of evidence. How can I defend my team when the owner refuses to do so.

It is almost incomprehensible how one extraordinarily bad decision has undone 20 years of extraordinarily good ones. Intellectually it really doesn't seem fair, but emotionally I can't help it. As off right now I don't want to hear word one from the man. He has killed the passion for a team I followed passionately since the day it was founded in 1960 when I was 12.

Now I don't follow much of anything about the NFL because I know its likely that when the Pats are mentioned, it's likely nothing good will be mentioned, and the injustice of that annoys me.. The Patriots and "deflategate" are now irreversibly linked, and unless or until I can come to terms with that I can only allow myself to remain at an arms length, or my head will explode.

Maybe when September rolls around the darkness might lift a bit, or maybe I'll just wait until December to see ifs worth investing in this season. All I know is I have a lot more time on my hands these days, and I'm not sure I'm putting it to good use. ;) I hope all of you are well.

Ken you know I've been a fan since 60
I've posted the very same emotional thoughts
Not interested in the NYFL any more. Not psyched about the season because I believe the league has OPEN SEASON to derail our playoffs thanks to Kraft
Every time Kraft opens his thoughtless mouth I get wicked pissed

Belichick would've given an answer not much different. He just avoided giving an answer, just differently than "we're on to next year."
Enough! You need to take a long break from posting on this forum. Please take a hint from all the negative feedback you're getting from other members. Sheesh -- 321 posts, 378 disagrees/dislikes. That must be some sort of record.

Will Kraft be surprised when 68000 fans are booing him?

For some reason I'm thinking that the old sellout is so delusional that he believes that Patriots fans are stupid enough to actually buy his nonsense

68,000 fans at the game booing him is the same financial return as 68,000 fans at the game. Unless it hits his hip pocket, what us little lemmings think of Kraft will not make one difference (unfortunately).

I've said it time and time again. Billionaires only understand and care for one thing. They can pretend they don't and they can say whatever they like in public but it's clear as day what it is.

Kraft is banking on our love of Belichick, Brady and the players overcoming any dislike for him. It'll be interesting to see what happens when this very talented roster goes deep in to the playoffs again.
