Kraft Quotes Today

In reading the whole article Reiss posted, I don't think this particular quote is fair. It looks wishy-washy, but when viewed alongside everything else, it seems clearer to me that Kraft is supporting Brady & the team. He's not doing so passionately, but I wouldn't expect that from Bob Kraft. He's putting out statements that won't ruffle any other owner's feathers, but still support his guys.

I know we all want him to bring the heat against the NFL, but clearly he doesn't think that's a viable option. IMO I would rather he remain reserved and do what he can when he can. Dragging things out to no avail would simply have been feeding the media. Instead, with his relative inaction, we are getting stories like "Shaq deflated his basketballs" etc. The media has to dig for their stories, and the further you dig with this thing, the more apparent it is that it's BS.

Eventually we will get to court and Brady & team will attempt to reveal the truth, but I don't see the need for the team to puff out their chests and bang their drums until then. I guess I'm in the extreme minority.

I'm quite sure he practiced making that statement. It's not from the heart, it's from the wallet.

I feel like patsfanken

I really want Kraft to sell the team.

He needs to sell it.

ASAP.

And for the fan's sake.

If he cares about us, he should sell the team.

On opening day, he hopes that everyone deserves to be on the field is there? That's what the fans want"

Is he talking about raising the banner whether or not Brady is there?

This is another example of why I've become more of a lurker than participant. It's hard to keep interested when the fans seem to care more about the team and its players than the owner. Most of what I hear, see or read about the Pats usually just makes me annoyed, angry, or pissed off, since the owner has informed me that he has accepted that I am a fan of a team that cheats, regardless of the lack of evidence. How can I defend my team when the owner refuses to do so.

It is almost incomprehensible how one extraordinarily bad decision has undone 20 years of extraordinarily good ones. Intellectually it really doesn't seem fair, but emotionally I can't help it. As off right now I don't want to hear word one from the man. He has killed the passion for a team I followed passionately since the day it was founded in 1960 when I was 12.

Now I don't follow much of anything about the NFL because I know its likely that when the Pats are mentioned, it's likely nothing good will be mentioned, and the injustice of that annoys me.. The Patriots and "deflategate" are now irreversibly linked, and unless or until I can come to terms with that I can only allow myself to remain at an arms length, or my head will explode.

On a side note, the more I think about it, the idea that some have offered that we send a message to the NFL and Bob Kraft by boycotting the opening game seems more viable than ever.. The image of Goodell showing up to a totally empty stadium in front of a national TV audience is kind of delicious, in a dark way.

It's not a totally comfortable thought since on the other hand I'd like to show the rest of country and Goodell how strongly we support the PLAYERS and coaches who have been so badly represented by their league, players association and owner.. But it seems to me that Goodell will never allow Brady to play in that opener, and as good a prospect as JG is, IMHO still a year away from being ready to beat a good Steeler team, even at home.,

Maybe this is just a sign of the passage of time. There was a time I would pour over the box scores every game. Know every player and most of their stats. Over the last decade or so, I have the most casual of interest in the Sox and couldn't name half the roster let alone know their stats. Now days I wait until September before I decide whether to invest any energy on them. Maybe when September rolls around the darkness might lift a bit, or maybe I'll just wait until December to see ifs worth investing in this season. All I know is I have a lot more time on my hands these days, and I'm not sure I'm putting it to good use. ;) I hope all of you are well.

Good to hear from you, patfanken. Your posts are always a good read.

From the comments on PFT, most people are thinking that Kraft is actually defending Brady, not knocking him.

It is a strange way to put it.

Brady doesn't care about the money. He did it for his team, not Kraft's.

I still like my hypothetical, which btw I ran by a 49ers fan today at the golf course. He liked it a lot.

Belichick trades Brady for a 1st round pick to the 49ers (his original dream team) and Brady ends up playing in SF for his 5th ring in SB 50.

And I never watch football again.

And I never watch football again.

I'd still watch but not nearly as closely. It would be like basketball and baseball for me. Cursory views over the course of the season, here and there with little interest in the postseason. College football would be my #1 and I would probably get a lot more into hockey and MMA.

Bob just doesn't get it. He is just that out of touch.

Fu.ck you Bob. You've manged to make me nearly indifferent about one of the previously most important things in my life in the course of under a month. I literally cannot read a single article about anything Patriots related, like about OTAs and the roster, without getting depressed at how meaningless it all feels. So I no longer read any sports news at all.

Any news about the Pats roster just feels like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic because no matter what the team is sunk into this misery.

ken

I would advocate separating the Patriots from Kraft and the NFL.

I have not watched NFLN or (ESPN for that matter) since this whole debacle came to fruition. I haven't been to nfl.com and don't plan on it.

I will not watch any non Patriots crap and frankly.....the league can go screw it.

Make it a point to not shop at Patriot Place. Let Roger and his other brothers support it.

As far as opening night, 68,000 FU Kraft....FU Roger chanting would be perfect.
I echo your actions, I haven't been to any of the many NFL sites I used to haunt, nor would I ever buy anything NFL authorized again. I agree 1000%

As for the 68,000 chanting something embarrassing to Goodell I endorse that entirely. As for FUing Kraft, I wouldn't do that exactly, but some more respectful and creative that let him know about our displeasure with his recent actions I am totally open to. I'm am definitely in the FU mode today, but in September, I hope I'can be more forgiving for the 2 decades of great decisions.

As for Goodell, he will be FU forever for 90% of all his decisions during his "reign of terror". I'd feel this way even if you discounted his Patriot related misdeeds. The league thrives DESPITE him. but it won't last long. He has been damaging the league for a long time now, and its starting its going to start to show very soon

Has this guy always been this freaking lame and I just had Brady/Belichick tinted goggles?

WTF kind of quote is that? Next time just keep your mouth shut if you're going to say something that horrendously horrible. Jesus.

Hockey is my favorite sport now,, the Stanley Cup Playoffs have been fantastic. I don't care about baseball or basketball anymore and football is heading that direction thanks to Goodell, the league office, and Bob Kraft. If they got rid of Brady any time soon then I would say screw it and turn it off for good.

This coming from someone who thinks the penalties were deserved and Brady is a cheater.
I didn't think Andy thought any of that, no?

I didn't think Andy thought any of that, no?

He didn't Andy was quoting Kraft but Ivan thought he was saying what he thought, and then Ivan blocked him so now Ivan can't see Andy explaining how Ivan misinterpreted what he said.

Follow all that?

Yeah I've gotten pretty into hockey the last couple of years. This year has been phenomenal. I like how small of a role the refs play in it. They don't have their own names and personalities like NFL refs have. They're just simply "the refs".

No reason to be more forgiving in September because the reality is that press conference was really, really that bad. It's something that can't be forgiven.

The reality is that as part of this thing we call the New England Patriots, us fans were placed in a mode where there was a gross injustice and we have been victimized without recourse. Also, it's worse when the ones we care about are even bigger victims.

That doesn't mean we just sit there and deprive ourselves of the enjoyment of the GOAT team, coach, and QB. That serves no purpose.

Maybe a 5th Lombardi would be the most important.......because it deprives the other 31 ******s the ability to have it. it's better than just giving up.

I read it as him stating Brady doesn't deserve to be on the field but Kraft lost benefits of doubt from me.
I took it as whomever makes the team ..........

F*ck Kraft.

He should have said "100%, absolutely, no doubt Brady should be playing".

Any statement, like the one he made, in which you have to parse, look at context and take your best guess at what he meant is absolutely unacceptable. Go away, Kraft.

What a bunch of self serving BS from Kraft. My read is that whomever is deserving to be on the field refers to what ever people Kraft's lord and master Goodell deems worthy and that obviously excludes Brady. I also resent him patting himself on the back for his ownership while disparaging the previous regimes. I am not going to defend Kiam or the guy from St. Louis but Billy Sullivan who did n't have two nickels to rub together brought the team to Boston and kept it together on a shoestring for many years. No he didn't have Kraft's all important wallet but he loved and would fight for the team and its fans unlike the Pudgy Putz.

I think Kensil should be sent to investigate this.

Hockey has always been my favorite sport. The pace is great and advertisements don't feel like they are constantly getting shoved down your throat. Bettman is a good commissioner too, though that is a very unpopular opinion. He only gets hands on when a franchise is struggling with money. The rule changes almost always have very positive results too. The hockey I grew up with was a lot slower and 'defensive' minded. The rules were changed to even things out without neutering defenders, unlike the NFL.

If you haven't gone to see a game live, I highly recommend it. Hockey translates to TV worse than any other sport. The atmosphere is incredible in person.
