He's been cut a few times recently ... sounds like a JAG.

2015 DPOY candidate.

Played decent in 2012 but then slightly fell off when he went to San Diego.

This is obviously a low risk signing, hopefully he produces high rewards

@jeffphowe: Pats signed Derek Cox, who was a good CB from 2009-12 but hasn't played a down since '13. Also not the 1st time Pats have shown interest.

Solid signing. Good size at 6'1 and pretty fast at 4.37 according to NFLDraftScout

On March 13, 2013 Cox agreed to a four year deal with the San Diego Chargers[6] In week 6, Cox intercepted Andrew Luck to help win the game. Cox was benched three times during the regular season due to inconsistent play. He lost his starting job to veteran Richard Marshall in week 13. Cox finished the season on special teams and managed career-lows, 38 tackles and only 1 interception. He was released on March 4, 2014.

On March 13, 2014, Cox signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings.[8] He was cut after the third preseason game, on August 25, 2014

On August 27, 2014, Cox signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens.[10] He was released three days later

Least he has size. No pun intended.

and note, balt didn't pick him back up later in the year when they were churning their secondary

Ravens signed CB Chris Greenwood off the Vikings' practice squad.

Ravens signed CB Antoine Cason.
Desperation strikes, as the Ravens have lost five cornerbacks due to injury this season and released two others due to poor play. The latest casualties were Danny Gorrer (knee) and Anthony Levine (concussion). So they'll give Cason a shot even though he was arguably the worst corner in the NFL this season before getting dumped by the Panthers last week.

Wonder why he was only a Raven for 3 days. Must have realized he wasn't scummy enough for them.

He is somewhat similar to Talib when he came here. Great skill set, history of playing well but fell off big time.

Cox is the type of player who is either going to start or not make your team. He is not going to contribute in the slot and on special teams so he doesn't have value as a depth CB.
