Car registered to spikes found on highway after crash

Isn't the deer usually found somewhere nearby? Like, REALLY CLOSE with a bit of its own damage?

The big question, of course, is: WHY would Spikes abandon the car unless he was guilty of something?
Deer run away from these things all the time. And people who've just been in accidents often make panic decisions.

Again, I have no idea what happened here, but my time in claims showed me just how unreasonable people can be.

Here's a theory Spikes had one to many hit a deer panicked left the scene only to absolve himself of a possible DUI.

The other accident is a coincidence if the damage dont fit you must aquit.

Now the only remaining decision would be do we release Spikes from leaving his vehicle which more than likely he was intoxicated while driving.

Thank God it wasn't his KIA, that would have been a jheartbreaker.

Not at all, any logical person can see that. I mean look at the nissan, its taillight is still connected and unsmashed. Spikes' car, the hood is bent up.
Yep. Only think I can think of is that Spikes car was already damaged before he hit the Murano (if he did).

Possible that he did hit a deer. Kept driving. Then nicked the Murano.

Who knows..

Huh? As long as they stick to this thread, I don't see an issue.

Just my opinion...but we have too many posters that get all excited to be the first to post news as if it's an achievement despite the fact that it's already public news. That's what I meant by childish...

It was running from Ray Lewis who was trying to get his Antlers.
Then inadvertently ran into Spikes vehicle doing the legal speed limit.

Poor deer was terrified.

This will be simple for the police. If a deer was hit, there will be evidence. If he hit another car, there will be evidence. There's no way you travel at that speed, hit a car or a deer, and leave no evidence.

I'm no crash expert but the damage to Spike's car doesn't seem to line up with the Murano's
I think these people saw the Mayback and tried to cash in. Minor injuries and they did not call the police.

I saw a picture of Spikes car, it is really badly damaged. I am not even sure how he could drive it after hitting something.

Yes, but considering the damage to his car in the photo, you think a deer could've run away from that and not been killed?

Funny claims story:

This woman hits a deer and stops her car. Deer's just lying in the road. Another guy stops to see if she's okay, when all of a sudden the deer gets up and runs into the woods.

The guy grabs a knife out of his car and runs after the deer screaming, "I'll put it out of its misery!"

Yup. It could've lived, or it could've gotten a long way before it died.

I agree that the damage to the Mercedes does not line up with the damage to the Nissan.

Agreed. Mayback's are big and _heavy_. A ~6000 lb Mayback hits a ~4000 lb Nissan Murano at speed? If the Mayback is damaged like that I would expect the Murano to basically be totally destroyed from the front door latches back.

But in that picture the Murano's rear window isn't even cracked.
