Re watching the Ravens and SB game..

Just re-watched the Inside the NFL of the Super Bowl too and I got choked up/misty at the end...

There are literally a dozen plays during the playoffs where the Pats stepped up and made a game-changing play in a tough situation. So many places where things could have all gone bad, but miraculously, enough of them went right for the Pats.

In the Ravens game, there were the clutch touchdown drives in the 2nd half, the clutch completions to keep things alive on some of those drives, the defensive stops. In the Superbowl, same thing - the 3rd and 14 in the sig above was huge, but also that 20yd completion to Gronk right after a ticky-tack interference call was critical. Brady had like 2 seconds to get that off, and hit Gronk between 3 defenders, in stride. Amazing play.

Yeah, it's fun to go back and watch those games now, knowing how they turned out. So much less stress this time around :)

The play I can't get out of my head from the Ravens game was the fumble recovery by Edelman when he was stripped after a reception. He was on his ass with the ball on the ground behind him and 4 Ravens were pouncing. And he ended up with the ball even after the four of them worked him over on the ground. Edelman has to be one tough nut to have pulled that off.

His TD pass was great too. There was a time that I thought of Edelman throwing one of those, but it had never happened so I figured the Pats didn't have it in their playbook. I guess they had it but it was at the end.

The ineligible plays that confused everyone on the Ravens are also the best. Those still draw a chuckle when I see them. So does Harbaby's reaction.

Of course, one of the best plays was called back when Collins stripped the ball for a fumble but they called Revis for a ticky tack foul. That could have ended the game right there.

Instead the game ended on Harmon's INT, which is another great situational play that was worked on in practice.

So many choices...

That Ravens game was an all time classic. But some of the fun, in fact a lot of the fun, has been ripped out of it for me because of, well, you know. We were only able to enjoy that win for 8 days, and the Colts win for one night, before everything went to hell. It's really not fair.
I'm still enjoying both.

Speaking of great playoff wins, I really want to rewatch that Patriots @ Chargers game from 06 if anyone knows where such a tape could be found.

I was thinking the same thing about the Denver game from 2003, the intentional safety game. Someone here before gave me the name of a site that specializes in sports downloads, but I didn't save it and, well, let me just tell you that it's tough to get old. If I find anything I'll let you know.

Just re-watched the highlights for this one, my god if Ravens had scored on that last throw....would have been a very very long offseason. Good job Logan Ryan, earned your ring stopping that one.

Duron Harmon made that interception I believe.

Without amendola we don't win that game. I'll never forget him stretching for the first down when we needed it on 3rd. Plus his touchdown. It took a long time and I complained about him a lot but without him i don't think we have our 4th. Both him and Edelman were considered replacements for Wes and they both came through in the playoffs to get that ring.

It wasn't a ticky tack foul. Revis clearly held Steve Smith enough after he skooled Revis. If you watch that play you'll see that's the reason Flacco holds on to the ball, and the reason the sack strip fumble recovery takes place. It's a first down if Revis doesn't grab Steve Smith.

Regardless Jamie Collins is so bad ass! I love it how he doesn't rush always. When he does....uh oh....! :D

Ryan kept Torey Smith from catching the last hail mary into the end zone.

I often wonder when I see this GIF what would of happened if they didn't convert this...

This thread reminds me I need to watch more of 3 Games To Glory IV, I've only gone thru the Ravens disc...

Can anyone pm me for a way to watch all the playoff games in full without having to pay the NFL? Thanks.

I don't think they win. That play changed the course of the game. You could feel momentum swing after that. That was the play of the game for me... even more than the Butler INT.

I watched SB again today as well. I luv watching it from 12:40 mark of 4th QTR trailing 24-14 and watchin Brady go to work. A thing of beauty how Gronk, JE, LaFell, AD, DA and Blount zoned in and focused. CollingsworthLESS and Michaels gave no props to Brady and Pats throughout game but to Seahawks. I wonder how much CC lost on SB.

The bad part is Vereen was open for a small gain on the play Brady got sacked.

We are one and done with any other QB in the NFL during that playoff run.

That Raven's game was one of Brady's greatest games.

"Even Peyton Manning?" :)

As much as Collingsworth and Michaels get criticized for their anti-Patriots calling of the game, "and the pass is...INTERCEPTED" will live on in my head forever. That moment of the Butler pick still gives me chills and jebus willing will till the day I die.

Raven game and that Super Bowl. The playoff run of CHAMPIONS. NFL's BS doesnt ruin it for me. IDGAF what joe shmoe in NJ swamp thinks of greatness. What do they know about it anyway? HAHA losers
You are 100 percent right man, people need to stop concerning themselves with the opinions of the jealous losers. As ari gold would say there are no asterisks in life, only scoreboards

Yup at the end of the day the Patriots are still the CHAMPS and their teams still blow. I laugh in the face of any hater that brings up "cheating" and just call them pathetic. Shuts them up REAL quick.
