Trade Kaepernick in pre season and sack the season for Hackenberg ...
Use the trade picks obtained on a CB or 2 and .... with the worst record ...

'Sack for Hack'.

I've read he's been on the trade block for a long time with no takers, but who can really trust anything that comes out of any of these reports.

After Deflate-hate, if a report doesn't come with named sources directly involved, it's safer to assume everything is just hilariously wrong.

Good sir, have you considered running for President--and, if so, will you give any thought to selecting Dikembe for your running mate? :D
@Ross12 - @dikembe 2016: "We won't get Krafty on you"

Who are we kidding, we know I would be VP on that ticket - Dikembe would win the election in a landslide after hexing his opponent.

I wonder if Harbaugh had stayed if any of these players would have retired.

I think that's a good question. Their new HC doesn't seem impressive at all to me. I heard one interview and it was cringeworthy.

Anybody who thinks we had it worse than them this offseason needs to chug bleach and die

Some standard suckage times:

1: Draft after round 1
2: First few days of free agency
3: Early in the game ... game thread.

;);););)

It is difficult being a NE fan in Feb, March, April and May.. it gets much easier in January, and sometimes February.. otoh many teams celebrate their "Superbowls" in spring(Jets, Dolphins, Bills etc).

That may be a little harsh, but I understand.

Those who think we've had a bad off-season need to sit back, close their eyes and imagine what this off-season would be like if the Butler didn't do it.

I still get that little grin when I think about this past season and how it played out for all of the whiny losers. Imagine what it was like for Harbaugh, Grigson, Goody, Kensil and the rest of the Keystone Cops, at the exact moment that Wilson's pass was picked off.

That's Patriots gold right there and I'll never forget the feeling.

I wonder what the group think in that locker room was, it seems like it is reaching critical mass there.

Actually I think it is group think that causes people to play football and to continue to play it, if/when they have options to do other things with their lives.

As much as I enjoy watching the Pats, I made sure my son didn't play football. Because he was fortunate enough to be born into moderate circumstances in the US at this time in history, for him the world is a massive buffet of amazing options so there was no need to choose one where he repeatedly smashed his head into hard objects.

Has any team had a worse offseason in recent memory than the 49ers with all of these retirements?
Not as bad, but I feel like the Pats offseason has been kinda crappy for "various" reasons especially after winning the SB.

The Patriots suck worse than all but 31 NFL* teams... it's just a good thing the competition is so much worse.

A team winning the AFCCG should have an enjoyable two weeks leading up to the Superbowl, and then after winning the Superbowl, there should be an enjoyable off-season leading up to the next season.

We Pats fans have had neither as our team has been under assault since the AFCCG.

I only had the chance to get close to one person who played in the NFL. He was a reserve LB for eight years and came to work with us back in the early 2000's. We became close and still keep in touch, though I've retired. He was always amazed at how much more together a locker room was than our work environment.

What football has going for it, and it's demonstrated best by Tom Brady to BB and the players to him, is that the players respect authority and will gather around their leadership. Putting a numbnut like Goodell in charge of those type of men was a recipe for disaster... for the players.
