It's easy, and only takes a few moments.no.....BB has nothing directly to do with deflategate, but all of this harassment of the pats is because of him and brady.......which is why the league tries to put their version of 'ankle-weights' on them
In a back room somewhere, kraft is told 'we gotta do this........we gotta try to keep things even'.....bob says 'i understand'
but they need to make it look good
with every day, I like Al Davis more and more
Unfortunately, you do have a point. Per Vincent' letter, Spygate factored into the equation in determining the severity of the sanctions. That means the perception that the league has of this team - as cheaters will never go away.
You do have to wonder if some other ridiculous, manufactured BS "Gate" comes up in the future, will the league take "Deflategate" into account?
Kraft is looking out for his investment.....evidently he doesn't realize that his fan base is a huge part of that investment.

P(retty) S(ure) I(t's) Bill Leavy who overinflated #Patriots footballs in Oct, now quietly moves upstream to supervise. #NothingToSeeHere
Last week, I was at a bar with a buddy of mine who's a Raiders fan. After a bunch of drinks, I admitted that I wished Kraft had some Al Davis pride/fighting spirit in him. He demanded that I say it again so that he could record it, thinking that once I sobered up I would regret what I said. When I saw it again the next day I said "yeah, I totally stand by that".
I dunno what that says about Raiders fans or Al Davis, but it was a weird interaction.
I wouldn't saying checking other team's footballs is the best idea but you could ask yourself the same questions regarding running up scores in 07 and get the same answers. But we did it anyway because fuk everybody else right? I like the idea of calling other teams out on any and all obscure infractions for the sake of integrity. Not to be a spoilsport, but ask yourselves two questions:
After that the title question for this thread should answer itself.
- Do these ideas require effort and attention from BB and others?
- Do they contribute to winning football games?
you have to realize that Goodell doesn't really care about rule violations unless committed by the Pats. Just look at the wristslap for the Jets for the real rule violation of tampering and the letter of warning sent to the teams for warming the balls.
Wouldn't it be great if a TV crew had a sideline reporter on the field for a very cold game in Foxboro in December with a football (not a game ball, but one of theirs, and the same brand)?
They could show on tape that it was at 12.5 psi at room temp. Say it's 30 degrees outside and they then tested it at halftime. Hilarity would ensue. "Wow, look, it says 10.5 psi now! I think we cheated and we didn't touch it!"
Nobody at a national level would ever have he courage to do that though. Maybe some of the local TV/radio guys could do it.
Goodell and the NFL loves Kraft and would never make him sell. Where else are they going to find a eunuch that does mind if his team and fans are abused on an ongoing basis.
