Goodell's letter response to the NFLPA...6/2/2015

The people who matter most to Brady are not going to be satisfied with taking a bullet for Kraft. His father is curious about v this and no one knows the value of name and brand better than his wife. Brady isn't going to roll over for Goodell. If its reduced to one game he may be tempted to put his teammates first but other than that he will push this for exoneration.
Believe me I want him to go balls to the wall and basically draw & quarter the league & its commissioner. But Brady's history and the way he's conducted himself as a de facto member of ownership simply does not point to him taking the NFL to court.

I hope he and his legal team can skewer the NFL and Goodell, but it's not happening. Such proceedings would carry well into the preseason and preparation for 2015 - if there's one thing Belichick doesn't want, it's distractions. Can you imagine the sea of scum sucking media at Pats camp if Brady takes the NFL to court? It would make the Tim Tebow media mob seem like the media contingent at a high school junior varsity baseball game....

You couldn't be more wrong about Brady.

Did you see the language in the last lawsuit? It was brutal and an absolute killer to the NFL. Brady has shown no reason why he wouldn't follow this up. Especially with the NFLPA licking their chops over this one.

that means nothing - did he ever speak to the issue? did he ever say anything on this? no, he didn't
I need a facepalm gif pronto. Why would he have to speak on the issue? His actions are speaking loud enough. You're embarrassing yourself.

Again, find me ONE sourced quote from Brady speaking out against the league, the Commissioner, the competition committee, another team, another coach, etc....the ONLY one I can remember is his comment r.e. Harbaugh post AFC Championship game. My feeling is Brady isn't wired to rock the NFL boat, especially since he's acted as a de facto owner/management - type in his contract negotiations...

Even his pre super bowl presser was littered with fence sitting comments....

I could see the exact same blue brint here. Brady sues the league and the NFLPA and his Lawyers fight with Brady staying silent

You just wrote: "My feeling is Brady isn't wired to rock the NFL boat, especially since he's acted as a de facto owner/management - type in his contract negotiations..."

If that was even remotely true, he wouldn't have sued the league 4 years ago. But it isn't. You're wrong, end of story.

How about you bring some hard facts instead of your ridiculous conjecture. The antitrust suit is literally called Brady v. The NFL. Yet he doesn't want to "rock the NFL boat." Every single word you've typed is nonsense.

Even allowing for you being right and Brady is not wired to rock the 'establishment' -- Brady v NFL suggests you are wrong -- your logic glosses over one important point: The 'establishment' bus just ran over Brady in a way that is almost unprecedented. Considering that, what is needed for you to consider Brady may step out of his comfort zone to fight the establishment?
Do you feel the establishment can do anything to Brady and he will ultimately cave due to wiring? Or is smearing his name, taking millions and casting a shadow over his career something that may, just may cause him(or anyone) to step outside this claimed comfort zone?

Again I hope I'm wrong here and I'll eat crow if Brady goes for it but it ain't happening... Either doosh Goodell wipes out the suspension or Brady takes what's given....

Uuhhh, silly question here, but what is more distracting?
- a lawsuit going on in the background.*
- your star goat qb out for first four games of the season.

* regarding my use of word background, no one in this thread ever seems to have heard of the word 'injunction' or 'stay'. My bet is that The first motion Brady's legal team files after filing the suit, if not simultaneous with, is to delay imposition of any possible punishment until the suit is decided. Based on the unrecoverable nature of 4 games, career records, and the scanty evidence I can't think of a sane non-jester-fan judge who wouldn't block go-to-hell's BS. But based on wells report, trial could be over in a day. That crap is indefensible except by the 'I am commissioner-God; F-U theory'.

I have a family relative that is rather well known in business circles here in southern New England. Head of Hasbro and then Lifespan,he's met and shared dinner with a number of NE sports dignitaries ,including Bob Kraft. He relayed a little experience he had with Kraft over dinner and ****tails as the 2011 NBA strike and lockout was going on. Kraft said, in front of many people at this function, that his solution would be to "fire all the players and get new ones. It's the business that is the important thing, not the players OR the fans opinions on the subject."

FWIW, this person's reputation is IMPECCABLE. I cannot divulge his name because I have no such permission, but we share familial ties. I'm extremely close to his younger brother.

What do I think? I think Kraft's lip service about Brady "being like a son" to him is just that. Good PR. The truth is I do not TRUST what he says to be anywhere close to true. What IS important to ANY billionaire is BUSINESS and the making of money.

That is why I think Brady falls in with the NFLPA and DOES business with Kraft and the 31 other owners...in federal court. This whole laughably preposterous stance taken by NFL offices and Puppetdell is nothing but NFL PR spin, no different than the Iraqi minister of information charade.

You're talking about a guy that has pretty much never missed a voluntary workout, and a guy that hates to give up snaps in practice.

Is he going to roll over and miss four games in what he knows is the twilight of his career?

I just don't think so.

We're talking about a 39 year old guy who is still pissed he wasn't drafted before round 6.

Except that Kraft didn't build his own. He also took a loan from the league. And he got tons of tax breaks..

Did you pay cash for your home, or did you get a mortgage?

I guarantee you're wrong, I've heard from a source that knows him that he's ripshit and will take this railroad job all the way.

He got a loan for up to 150 million that he is personally responsible for, even if he sells the team. He got 70 million in infrastructure improvements necessary for any stadium and certainly less than the tax benefits to the state of the operation, the construction cost of which was 325 million.

Jonathan Vilma remained eligible to play for a full season after his bountygate suspension for exactly this reason. Brady's team will get an injunction, would be shocked if that didn't happen.
