Welker wants to be homer again....

Playing with Manning has taken a heavy toll on him. He's nowhere near the player he was at the beginning of 2013. He could still be effective, though, and if it weren't for Edelman and Amendola being on the roster, I would still take him. But, at this point, he should probably just retire. The concussions took a good 3 years off of his career.

Talk about cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.

Looks like he is doing the "please take me back" rounds

Will be on Quick Slants tonight.

Stay on the Wes(t) Coast, my friend :)

Should have thought about that before going low on Talib in the AFCCG and incurring the wrath of BB...seriously the dude needs to retire and understand that one more head shot is all it takes for him damage his long term health...there is live outside the white lines.

@BenVolin: Welker says on @WEEI that he thinks #DeflateGate has only become a big story because it involved Tom Brady

@BenVolin: To be clear, Welker was rooting for the #Patriots in the Super Bowl and happy for his ex-teammates. But disappointed not to be a part of it

Trying to crawl back. GFY.

I don't see anything wrong with either of those quotes. Given that he and Brady are good friends, I expect that that's what he would say and how he would feel.

I don't want him back either, but I don't think saying that he was rooting for a bunch of his former teammates in the SB is a bad thing.

I wouldn't want to see him back. Already conflicted enough on whether or not to watch without a guy who's perpetually one hit from vegetablehood out there. It would give the same sick feeling I had when Collie was running routes for us, and I hated that.

If signed, the guy might very well be brain dead by preseason game #2

Time moves on, Playing with Manning shortened his career, Ducks have been deadly for Manning's Slot receivers.

Too bad he just didn't resign with the Pats. Edleman at this point is playing at a much higher level.

Its been proven that by not resigning with the Pats, it was a blessing.

I'd rather have Danny Woodhead return.
Not sure how the CoP backs will emerge but there is no doubt that if here, Woody would be #1 on the depth chart.

Don't worry, talib will take himself out.

Ya it was a cheap shot but Talib could have easily returned to the game and he ****ed out. Gutless. Was too worried about if he went back out there and injured himself further or get beat that it would lose him money.

maybe if amendola and minitron both get hurt, and then we sign collie and collie gets hurt, we might put out some feelers.
Yea I'm not sure at this point WW is an upgrade over Collie. Neither player is durable.

I have more respect for Sherman than Talib.

Talib is made of glass. 2 years. Two biggest games. Two "injuries" that IMO changed the course of the game.

I would welcome him back if he was humbled. Even Spikes has come back home. It would surely be a vet minimum deal and he could be released if he didn't work out. Though, even Amendola is probably as good as what Welker would give the team right now, and he plays KR which Welker couldn't do now with his concussion issues.
I think Amendola is more explosive of player right now. WW looked lethargic last year. Could be because of all those cobwebs in his head. Not sure.

Already pretty loaded in the slot, including TEs, like Chandler, who will undoubtedly be snagging many of those snaps in 2015.

Would be a serviceable backup for JE/DA except I doubt we'll see as much 3WR, in which case DA already is that backup.

He's in town for Dr. Leonard's function tonight. Welker, Nink, Curran, Fred Toucher, Chris Gronkowski are all his patients. Welker, Dr. Leonard and C. Gronk were all on WAAF this morning, too.

I want to see Welker retire. No reason to come back for the veteran minimum only to risk his health more long term.

He was dead to me the second he dropped the f****** super bowl, should've been five rings already f***!

Then he came alive again in the ravens playoff game to drop another ball and be dead to me all over again.

HELL NO.
