Kraft and other sports figures despised in Boston

id take kraft any day over kroenke who is screwing my city over and moving my team to LA.

Are we talking about the same Kraft who was heading out the door and over to Hartford, CT. with the Patriots, before he got the accommodations he demanded?

Having the league's most overrated coach might play a role

He's the Music City Miracle away from being closer to Wade Phillips in people's perceptions than most would think. His teams have underachieved minus that year every season. One fluke made his reputation.

Why didn't STL build a new stadium?

They built a state of the art home for the Cards. The existing Rams Jones Dome is a dump.
I have never been there, but from the outside I always saw St. Louis as a baseball town.

I think it is funny that stadiums which have been built as recently as the 90's are already dumps that need to be replaced. I remember when the Falcons moved from Fulton County Stadium to the Georgia Dome, but now that Dome is being replaced. The Rams are getting a new stadium soon (one way or another). Dan Snyder has begun the process of finding a place to build a new stadium. His building is only 5 years older than Gillette!!

It's easy to demand upgrades when you're not paying for them.

How can you blame Kroenke when fans don't turn out to support the team? Whenever I've seen a Rams game on TV going back several years now, the stadium looks less than half full. Having the league's most overrated coach might play a role, but St. Louis really might not deserve an NFL franchise.
Worst NFL record of last 10 years and they still sold more tickets then they deserved.

I can blame kroenke easy. He took over the team in 2010, with every intention of moving them. You expect fans to support a recluse of an owner who doesnt even acknowledge the city or fans, or even will take a phone call from our mayor? Guy lives in Malibu for ****s sake. All the sports franchises his family operates are in the dirt, Avalanche, Nuggets, and The Rams. Why? They have no clue what they are doing.

And you expect fans to shell out money to an owner who openly has never stated his intentions?

No thanks. If they move to LA they will be terrible there too. See how long that lasts when you have the 49ers and Chargers a couple hours away.

The Cardinals are one of the most valuable MLB franchises in the Nation.
Why? How is it possible for such a small market? St. Louis is a sports town, that will support a team with a community minded approach, that wins. The Cardinals do public service every week in St. Louis. And guess what... they win. They dont put up 10+ years of losing seasons, then expect the city to build them a new stadium.

they are working on it.

I think the land has been purchased, still waiting on funding from the city right now. we have a couple constituents suing our mayor or something.

No city, other than (perhaps) Green Bay, should pay for a stadium.
yup. And STL really needs the Rams to stay. It brings alot of jobs and tax revenue to the city. I fear for the repercussions of losing another NFL franchise means financially to the city that is already struggling.

MO has the chiefs on the other side of the state, but i doubt you will find many people in STL willing to root for a KC team.

When the Rams were on top fans came out and supported football. Some from across the state line in Illinois. It is more of a baseball town for sure. If the Rams move, this will be the 3rd NFL football team to move out of town. There would be a war if the Cardinals threatened to move.

The Edward Jones dome was built poorly like Schaeffer stadium was for the Pats. Not bleachers, but plastic seats that you can twist with your hands. I was there 10 years ago and thought it was a piece of crap. I watched the Georgia Dome being thrown up. Another dump. Constant problems with roof.

These new NFL stadiums have more corporate boxes to generate maximum revenue.

Lots of projects never get off the drawing board. KC has drawings for a rolling roof that was suppose either cover Arrowhead and Kaufman depending on who was playing that day. That was never constructed either. From what I recall about the land west of the Arch was that it was a wasteland. Good spot for a murder. Lacledes Landing east of the Arch was pretty rough as well.

STL rolled the red carpet out for the Cardinals. The state of MO chipped in too.

He did not get the accommodations that he demanded. He got much less, he got something but no where close to what he "demanded".

Kraft turned his back on the fans to keep his friendship with the other owners. I thought he was for us 1st and them 2nd but his acquiescence to this finding makes me ill. Not since 1990 have I ever felt more betrayed by the team.

I remember when those guys used to have training camp in Fitchburg. Wallace Civic Center. They used to hang out over at a place called "King's Corner Restaurant". My neighbor's sister was Espo's side squeeze and would hang out with them... they were coo-coo. Fights (often with each other) and Cashman and Hodge were known as hard-core drunks who would be passed out every night... wild stories from her and other people. They liked hanging out there because they got the second floor to themselves.

Drinking was behind the problem in the charity game that I umpired. It was Cashman's drunken maniacal reaction to me warning the on deck batter to watch his language that really got him going and ended the game right there.

I thought that the Hartford threat was real enough and that the fans approved of the move. Most of us make a day of it when we go to a game anyway, and Hartford isn't much further away for many of us.

Nixon pushed the bonds through for funding the stadium, but like 5 guys from KC district, who are chiefs fans, are trying to sue him. That location to the west riverfront is being completely ripped apart and turned into a new sports district if the Rams stadium is built. The downtown riverfront will be the Cards to the east, EDJ in the Middle, and the New Riverfront Stadium to the west. Basically turning the riverfront into a sports area. All the impoverished area to the west is planned to be demolished. Mostly for parking, bars, etc.

but none of this happens if Kroenke is the **** we all know he is.
