Broncos LT Ryan Clady torn ACL

Well, they would have to have him on the final 53 man roster to make him an IR player with designation to return. That means they would have to tie up a roster spot for him through the first game of the season.

That decision doesn't need to be made for months.

If Karma is involved, maybe Clady, like Denver's jealous, morally corrupt fan base, were celebrating a rival GOAT quarterback getting suspended and dragged through the mud over nothing, so they could have a competitive advantage in playoff seeding. Maybe Karma's a ***** and now his ACL is blown.

That would be more on Von Miller who cheated the drug testing system and got a season ban down to 6 games (If he was a Pat it wouldn't have been reduced at all, nor should it be). Then before the Super Bowl this year he said if Brady won again, it still wouldn't make him better than Manning.

Agreed, it should be Miller.

Sorry Clady, but you need to pay attention when standing too close to inbound karma.

so, basically the Patriots even after all this losing revis and deflate gate crap are still the #1 team in the afc.

1. Colts are still the colts and will get run down their throats. adding an ancient andre johnson/frank gore isnt going to put them over the top

2. Broncos have a poor o-line and only 2 WR's. and an imobile QB with no arm strength.

3. Ravens have no wide receivers other than steve smith.

while the afc might be tougher with the bills/jets additions I dont see the "elite teams" really improving or being equal to the patriots with brady

Don't bother fooling yourself about what the Ravens have and don't have.

They'll be there at the end of the season with the Patriots, and will probably be our greatest obstacle in progressing through the playoffs, like always, regardless of what they look like the first half of the season.

Writing off the Ravens is like writing off the Patriots. Might be fun in week #5, but it comes back to bite you in January.

Every so often the Ravens have a crap year, but it's foolish to count on it. It's hard to imagine them having worse luck health-wise than they did last year. In all likelihood their secondary will be a lot better.

There are definitely red flags there. Elam should continue to sucks, since he does suck. Replacing Ngata will be a tall task, and much like the Pats post-Seymour, it wouldn't surprise me if the absence is felt in a significant way for at least a year or two. Steve Smith fell off a cliff as the season went on last year, he might just be too old to bring it on a week-to-week basis. If Perriman can't replace Smith, their "throw jump balls, get bailed out by refs" could become useless in a hurry. And without Kubiak, it wouldn't surprise me if their running game reverts to something closer to its terrible form from a couple years ago.

That said, even with all of those things working against them, I'm still betting that the Ravens will end up being one of the last teams standing in the AFC. I'm not really sure who's better than them. The Pats obviously. The Colts maybe, but I'm not sold on that. The Broncos probably, but their boom-or-bust roster construction has them going 9-7 as likely as 12-4, IMO.

The Ravens' biggest threat comes from their own division, but I think they'll come out ahead of Cincy and Pittsburgh, as much as I would prefer for either/both of them to knock the Ravens off.

The Ravens drafted Perriman, and their defense will get better with all the guys that got hurt last year coming back.

Ravens are better coached and have a better big-game quarterback than both Indianapolis and Denver.
I don't even think the Broncos are guaranteed to make the playoffs this season.

I expect Patriots v Ravens to either be the AFC Championship game, or, like in 2014, the Divisional Round that decides the Conference, with the AFCCG being a mere formality afterwards.

Perriman is garbage, Troy Williamson part 2

Agreed, I told y'all we wouldn't kill the Ravens and people went on and on how no more Ray and no more Reed and this and that but as long as Harbaugh and Flacco are there they will be a threat. Flacco may suck during the reg season but he's a big time playoff quarterback that's not up for debate anymore.

Perriman is garbage, but he's the perfect WR for the Ravens. He won't even need to catch too many balls, he'll just intentionally draw PI calls on deep passes from Flacco every time they run out of ideas. Same as they did with Torrey Smith.

I feel bad, in some small way, for Clady, whom I wanted Bill to draft in 2008 instead of Mayo because
he should've drafted Pozlusny/David Harris the year before (instead of Stomper Meriweather) and Laurinaitis the year after (instead of Patty Chung).

Laurinaitis is soft as Kleenex

It's amazing how the Ravens get overlooked. Back when I watched ESPN and NFLN one of them had a show and the theme was, who's the biggest threat to NE in the AFC, Denver of Indy? I guess they forgot about the Ravens

I completely agree. I also think Pittsburgh's defense is maturing and if San Diego can stay healthy that they should be really competitive, too.

I would definitely say that the Ravens is the bigger threat of the three. Indy still haven't done anything to improve that defense that just let us go straight through them. Denver has Manning, who is still very good, but who's arm gets weaker for every week. Manning also struggles more under the pressure of playoffs. Flacco on the other hand seems to become a completely different QB when the playoffs comes around.

Flacco was hot garbage in the playoffs until 2011 (Year 2 w/Boldin and year 1 with T. Smith). In terms of his actual numbers, he's had 3 lousy playoff runs and 3 excellent playoff runs. It will be interesting to see what he can do with his overhauled receiving corps and new offensive coordinator, especially if Forsett struggles under the new offensive regime.
