Deflate-hate has been milked for all it's worth, so we're on to Chip Kelly's racism.

Ugh - the national sports media, almost to a man, are the LAZIEST! Instead of spending the time discussing topics like:
  • how a coach decides if a player will fit into his system or not
  • how good coaches fail when they keep the wrong players
  • what happens when a player is very talented but in the wrong system
It's just easier to make a "scandal" and drive the clicks. I wonder if the typical fan actually cares about what goes into making a team good/bad/mediocre.

Nothing says racisim like trading a black runningback for a linebacker, and then signing a new, better, black running back to a monster deal. Wait. that's not racisim, that's the initial running back having a rejection issues.

Also I belive McCoy had around a 12 million dollar cap hit, and they signed Murray and Ryan Matthews, TWO black RBs at a fraction of what McCoy was making.

As the franchise that has taken the most unwarranted abuse from the NFL*, we'll soon see Eagles fans here looking for fans who understand what they are going through.

Before you ask, no, there really isn't any limit to how low these people will go.

+++++1

Right now I'm in a work situation that should not have gone to management, but a co-worker had a huge chip on his shoulder. And yes, I think it's racism while I can't prove it is a factor.

Too many people play the race card or see racism when it does not exist. And I've witnessed people white like me that I have no doubt are racist. It cuts both ways.

This is coming from a member that is clearly not an Eagles fan, but until someone presents me evidence of complaints from others, I'm inclined to believe Kelly is not a racist. Simply can't picture a coach in today's NFL that's racist. Again, if a number of other player echoing the same thing, then I'll believe Kelly is racist.

I just don't understand how replacing a black running back with another black running back is racist? Help me out guys
Now its change to the Riley Cooper issue.
Greenberg on Mike and Mike this morning brought this up and raised the question of whether there were bad feelings over this by citing that ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED PLAYERS IN THE NFL, MICHAEL VICK (yes he really, really said that) stood up for Cooper and then later had a problem with Cooper because he sent him a text when he signed an extension, and Cooper never texted back, so Vick wondered whether he really is a racist.

LSD in the groundwater...HAS to be.

To be fair, I bet Vick is esteemed--no, downright revered--in dogfighting circles.

Maybe Mike just didn't like the text and decided to ignore it.

Heard it read something like

"Lassie come home."

Most optimistic thing I've read in a while. You mean there is still hope?

On Chip Kelly, McCoy, apparently still stinging over the trade to the Bills, called him a racist by implication. Not really ambiguous. Not really manufactured. Kelly was called out by his former player.
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe the "racism" narrative was plastered onto Kelly before McCoy actually said that out loud.

Here's Chip Kelly dealing with a hailstorm of racism accusations which basically originated with ESPN.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...o-lesean-mccoy-s-race-comments-173203072.html

This narrative has been built in the fantasyland bizarro universe of American sports media for awhile now. I predict it'll continue to gain steam. Any time a player with a bad attitude is released, he'll take to twitter, call Chip a racist, and ESPN will start launching segments about Chip's `pattern of racism`.

Now before we go off the deep end, and turn this discussion into one about racism and global warming, you should know that it's about neither, so don't bother. It's about media. It's about ESPN. It's about Deflate-hate, Spygate, BountyGate, and now ChipKellyIsAKKKmemberGate. This is about `Tom Brady is in decline,` 0r `no longer a top 5 quarterback.`

It's about ESPN intentionally trying to engineer QB controversies in Cleveland when there wasn't any, just because they thought Manziel would bring in more money for THEM than Hoyer would, regardless of what it would mean for the Browns and their ticket buying fan base.

The `racist` Eagles are the new `cheating` Patriots.

We could take the low road and, if the Eagles turn into something, just say "racist, racist, racist," like we've always heard "cheater, cheater, cheater," but I'd rather use the absurdity of this to educate more NFL fans on how the media has ****ing killed us. Like Deflate-Hate, it's a rather clear example of the media just making **** up then stirring up huge controversies with their fabricated inventions. I thought after Steven A Smith levied this accusation against him, it would just be forgotten as a moment of ******ed First Take trolling, of which there has been plenty. How foolish of me to under estimate how vile and shameless ESPN is.

We've now reached the point where Chip is getting barraged with questions about it as if he's committed some sort of heinous crime. All he's actually done is begin utilizing the Belichick-like levels of authority he's gained over the Eagles to implement his long term vision for the franchise, which apparently ESPN has decided to turn into a racism scandal.

Before you ask, no, there really isn't any limit to how low these people will go. In fact, if you were going to ask, you've probably been living under a rock for awhile. Media is ****ing slime.

I don't watch college football, but I was convinced Chip Kelly was going to be one of the next great NFL minds after reading about his influence over our 2012 hurry up rushing attack. Hope he, the owner and the Eagles locker room can tune out the noise because this is a real narrative the scum of the American people (media) is building against him. Even if it subsides, i've seen how they function enough with their Patriot narratives to know it'll be brought back and continued and developed every opportunity our deranged media gets.

Watch. Watch and see.

Good luck, Chip, you ****ing racist.

I hate to say it because you make some decent points but I think your casual use (and an entire generation's use) of the term ******ed is callous and completely inappropriate in the context of a discussion like this. And before anyone starts with the liberal jabs I don't consider myself liberal. I just have family and friends who have severely mentally disabled children and know how they feel when they hear one perfectly healthy kid call another kid ******ed. Grow up.

That cow deflatehate still has plenty of milk according to Tanguay.

Whelp, now we know that Toby Gerhart can never be allowed to play for the Eagles.

PSA to all:

1. There is a political forum here. Feel free to use it.

2. If the need to respond about things not even tangentially related to football or the point of the thread is that strong, then you can click the persons name and write a private message.

Have a good day.

The nfl likes to stay in the media cycle that's why they milked deflategate this off-season . A story on air in a football was a bigger story on espn than the Nba playoffs. I imagine this chip Kelly foolishness is another effort to keep the nil cash cow relevant this off-season. Remember, even bad publicity is good publicity.
