Pats Fan: Why I'm giving up on the NFL (The MMQB w/ Peter King)

Much of what that person offered there struck a chord with me. Just speaking for myself. I'm guessing there were more than a few readers here nodding their heads until they reached the climate opinion. Still, the larger point made about being unable to convince those who have already made up their minds about a subject, regardless of opinion, was spot-on I thought.

Dude, if you're trying to convince haters of something you're just asking for a migraine. Just call them dumb and move on.

Dude, that's largely been my mantra for years.

Good call, dude.

I hate the NFL but I love the Patriots players and coaches. F everybody else and I'll keep watching the Pats no matter what.the lying turds aren't going to convince me what I do. I'm not one of their sheep that believes all of their manipulative lies.

Watching the Baltimore playoff game right now and basking in glory again.

Keep an eye out for a trick play involving Edelman and Amendola.

It is AWESOME!

Down not once but twice by 14 points. And the Ravens were noted for having success at Gillette. Yet Brady brings the team back twice in a post season record breaker. Jules throws the TD. Then as Flacco throws his patented long ball for a PI call, Harmon makes the pick. Epic!

Ravens v Patriots 2014 is probably my favorite non-SB game of all time. In fact, take the Lombardi out of the equation and it's probably my favorite football game ever.

Just stop listening to him and it won't even cost you gas money

I'm in AZ and was popping by Sports Central. It's brutal that stuff like that is even on the air. I kid you not. You should hear the sports guys out here. Kindergarten stuff.

Everybody else has upbeat, optimistic news.

Honestly, it isn't healthy to get saturated with stressful negativity like Boston sports fans do all day.

I have a friend who just finished about 10 straight years of academia to achieve his doctorates and he would adamantly disagree with you.

I also have another friend that has been working in Antarctica for 2 years, and there are chunks of glaciers bigger than cities and states in some cases that are going to be breaking away within the next year or so.

The carbon dioxide emissions have also been so overwhelming that the ocean is slowly becoming more acidic from absorbing it all.. It can be measured already, and at this rate in the next 60+ years there won't be anything alive in the oceans at all.

Like JackBauer said, you can have your speculation and what not on climate change... but to put it into the same category as conspiracy theories and other crazy things that people say is unbelievably ignorant.

Well, your friend ought to sue to get his money back. Man-caused climate change has been shot down by every working climatoligist. You know, the folks actually working in the field. As to "climate change", guess what? It happens all the time. It's called weather. The sun expands and contrats by minute amounts and we get warmer or colder. The Earth's climate is affected by all sorts of natural phenomenon, especially volcanoes, and if they are large enough, like Tambora, or Toba, or even Yellowstone, then we will see catastrophic weather changes, In fact, some 70K years ago, Humans came near to extinct when Toba erupted. It is estimated that humans, world-wide, were reduced to around 10,000 pairs.

Yet humans have virtually no effect upon the world-wide climate itself. There is zero proof of that, though the watermelons (those who are green on the outside, but red on the inside) claim otherwise. And as to volcanoes, typhoons, solar activity, earthquakes and such, there is absolutely nothing that humans can do about it.

The entire Climate Change hoax is a bid for power, and nothing more. It's a bid to control resources outside of the market, for a self-appointed elite to claim supremacy for themselves and lord it over the rest of us. THAT is fact, not speculation, and unlike man-made/caused climate change, absolutely verifiable.

But do go on with your assertions. You still have the right to do so, and we who fight against the climate change hoax will defend your right to do so, unlike the supporters of that hoax, who have loudly claimed that anyone "denying" their assertions should be jailed, or worse.
