This thread would be funny if it were less plausible....
There was a time not long ago when I would have dismissed out of hand the slightest suggestion that anything would be rigged. Not any longer. With this despot in charge of this crooked league office and its equally crooked ref crew, I believe ANYTHING is possible and when it comes to screwing New England I believe anything is probable. Absolutely nothing is out of the question for me.

Not only that, I'm afraid that even an obvious miscarriage of justice against the Pats would be accepted by most fans.

It's only fair considering how much they got away with in the past.

Goodell takes NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino aside and says "Dean, we all know the Patriots cheat, we got to make the games more competitive when they play teams that obey the rules. See what you can do"

Blandino informs his referees that he wants all rules strictly enforced when the Patriots are playing and not to let anything slide that is marginal. He then says "I was talking to Goodell and he wants a competitive game, make sure you don't let those Patriots players get away with anything"

"Kuechly Coverage"
Brilliant, this is how I'm going to refer to it from now on (and it was far from just against us that he was getting away with that).

Unnecessary reading of the defense by #12 on the offense. 15 yard penalty and loss of down. #12 has been ejected.

I sense a lot of bitterness in this thread... It's time to move on or stop being a fan of a NFL football team.

inb4 20 dislikes and personal attacks.

The NFL doesn't have to do anything. The secondary, unless a move is made between now and then, will ensure the Patriots have a much, much lower chance of repeating.

Keep bangin that drum Kontra. There's probably still some people who didn't hear you the first 1,800 times.

Yep. Unfortunately, *****ing about it doesn't make the problem go away. Neither does crying about me *****ing about it. Maybe we should just use this message board as a verbal *********** instead of it's intended use (which is to post our thoughts about the team)? Or maybe you prefer some scintillating Deflategate discussion about the same topic with the same griping pounded into the ground 1,801 times? Either way, feel free to ignore me if you don't like it, champ. I promise I won't lose any sleep over it.

Suspend Brady for the remainder of the season for using an incorrect shoelace tying sequence.

Kudos to Gr8est for putting the asterisk where it belongs, on NFL*

I don't want to get greedy, but I think any use of "Integrity" in connection with the NFL* should be rendered "Integrity™"

I can't wait till the Pats blow a team out and all the hacks make up reasons why :D

so what happens when the pats implement a sting of there own during next season and catch some other team red handed breaking rules

Somewhere in the range of no action to $100,000 fine.

BREAKING NEWS: At the beginning of the 2015 season the NFL will adopt a golf like handicap rating for each team which will be adjusted on a week to week basis. Last place teams will start the game with 14 points on the scoreboard.

Nothing. They can't do anything, anymore. If the 2015 Patriots team can overcome all of this nonsense, there will be a lot of jealous people around the league. The NFL is running out of bullets.

I don't put anyone on ignore, much less posters I respect. If you were one of the trolls, I wouldn't have even commented.

I think it's inaccurate to fret about the secondary. Your worry is with the corners. Devin McCourty is a tremendous safety, and by he alone safety is simply not a weakness but rather a strength. I know you don't like Jordan Richards, but there is simply no way they are worse at safety than last season, and there's no way that position is not one to be pretty comfortable with as long as DMc is healthy.

As for the corners, of course it's a drag that Revis is gone. But gone he is, and it appears he had no intent of taking anything less than really stupid money. Lucky for him, he found a really stupid team. As for Browner, I think he was a luxury that could only be afforded if Revis were around to allow constant over the top help. With regards to the draft, I can understand frustration about not taking a corner earlier, but perhaps Bill and Nick simply didn't rate any of the corners available as very good (I tend to agree, I thought it was a weak class and the intriguing ones were already gone by 32).

With regards to Deflategate discussion, I have maybe commented a total of five times on any of it. I'm not out here fanning the flames. I read the discussion of the interesting threads but don't feel a need to beat dead horses.

As for circle jerking, isn't me disagreeing with you (about football no less) the exact opposite of a Deflategate ***********? I fail to see how that fits me, other than searching for a convenient way to huff and puff.

And as for Bateman, well I cannot lie, that's one of my favorite films, so even if there is little relevance in that GIF to our discussion (are ANY of the posters here important to you? Certainly none are to me, it's a message board), I'm just happy to see that glorious film being referenced. That's one of my favorite scenes, I think the girlfriend scenes are basically my favorite in the whole movie.

Didn't mean any offense slugger, I like your posts. I just think this is sticking in your craw quite a bit, when there's nothing that can be done. Their front seven is in my opinion across the board better than last year, Wilfork's leadership (not play) being the only minus and a whole lot of new depth being a bunch of plusses. I am holding out hope for a trade for a proven vet, I know I've been trying to speculate on who that may be. But failing that, there have been recent teams with bad secondaries that have won lots of games, and I don't consider the Pats to have a weakness at SECONDARY, but rather at CORNER. Hope that clarifies. I'm not a flamethrower and don't like getting into pissing matches on the board, so I attempt to clarify my position whenever anyone bristles.
