Read this just now and maybe, just maybe we can see the knife turning towards the farce this entire issue has been, the rat that Goodell is and possible expose some of the total arrogant mean spirited jerks from the NFL and their poison penned mediots.

With the Sally Jenkins article, followed by Dan Batard's and the continuing spot on analysis by Tom Curran, things may be changing for the better.

Speaking of Tom Curran, he has been on fire throughout all of this, props to Prentice!!

Now, it seems as though there is a third layer to this. From the minute the Wells Report was released to the minute Kraft surrendered, the national conversation was the Patriots vs. the NFL. As the Patriots have removed themselves from the battle, the heart of the conversation has shifted away from the organization's perceived arrogance in fighting to prove its innocence when most people agree that they're not innocent.

The best possible outcome for the Patriots was never proving their innocence or Tom Brady's innocence. The best outcome was proving that the NFL never cared about deflated footballs (WellsReportContext.com essentially did that) and proving that Roger Goodell's motives have little to do with protecting the "integrity of the game" and more to do with protecting and re-building Roger Goodell's image.

What's worse: An organization that commits a minor violation and refuses to admit it or the league office that turned the minor violation into a scandal of Clinton-Lewinski proportions so it could reap two benefits -- the international hysteria generated by said scandal and the subsequent appeasing of the masses with heavy-handed punishment.

Probably Option B.

(The irony in all this is that Goodell's public image is so far gone due to the Rice debacle that any punishment of the Patriots, even if it was appropriate, wouldn't help him).

People just can't seem to accept that the players allowed him as commissioner in the CBA... He can't be removed unless the owners want him out..

Which they don't..

So all these posts about removing Goodell are a waste, and useless BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY IT CAN HAPPEN!!!

Not saying it will happen, but it can happen. If the NFLPA seeks an arbitrators ruling in the matter. They have a CBA and it may just be that Vincent should not have been allowed to punish Brady. It may not. We don't know.

Long story short, that's why many wanted Kraft to take the NFL to Court after an Appeal failed. He could have used Discovery to force disclosure of correspondence, texts and call patterns that might have proven that point. While I still feel strongly that Kraft should have gone through the League's Appeals process, I have never felt that I had enough information to judge one way or the other whether he should then have gone to Court. Unfortunately, now I'll never be able to make that judgement since he abdicated his right to Appeal.

Brady could, of course, take the NFL to court unless his suspension is completely lifted, but none of us can know whether he would put himself through the entire long and drawn out process that would entail, especially if his suspension is reduced to one or two games. Who knows? At that point he might decide it's preferable to retire rather than either accept any Suspension or put himself through the process of litigation.

life gets so much better once you stop giving a ****.

i was putting so much of myself into the patriots, but now that i don't care I'm a happier person. Thank you robert kraft, You managed to give me the strength to break free from your leech like grasp.
