Any 6'8" German tackles out there? I'd go cb and rb at 96 and 97.

I think the loss of the first round pick was completely ridiculous. I wonder if they can appeal the punishment or something to get it back.

Ya know what's even worse. If we traded a player for a 1st round pick. The penalty is the higher pick. Not our own. WTF is up with that??

Roger the former Jet Goodell was so embarrassed last time when the Jets took Gholston and the Pats took Mayo that he wanted to prevent that from happening again.

Remember the good old days, when all we had to worry about was how Bill screwed-up another draft?

I'll be skipping next year's draft.

The various books I get, Loyko, Nawrocki. I'll save the money. Watching the combine ? Nope. Watch the draft ? Nope.

Will revisit in 2017 unless we take one up the ass then too.

Apparently Kraft can appeal the fine and the picks being taken. Im hoping in the least were able to get the first back.

TB12 will get his suspension lowered. We will not get the first back.

Absolutely will have nothing to do with draft next year. Will be the first time I haven't watched since 92.

Will admit it was nice having it out of the sewers of NY this year though. Very fan friendly and a lot of activities for the fans.

The loss of a 1st round pick on top of all this is f*cking asinine

4 game suspension + $1million fine + loss of 1st round draft pick + 4th round draft pick would only be warranted if we had Brady sneak into Pete Carrol's hotel room and steal a game plan notebook or something.

Instead, it's because there was slightly less than 1 PSI in a few footballs, with zero conclusive evidence it was intentional, with zero advantage gained.

yep, not putting any thought into next years draft and probably won't ever again moving forward. Used to be fun but its clear that for whatever reason the Draft and the Patriots don't mix. Either its BB trading back or drafting a Tavon Wilson like unknown or the league making sure we don't pick at all.

I predict we will take the tallest highest rated WR left on the board, just like we always do. ;)

The question is how does the change the draft strategy.

Probably depends on the players and if anyone falls but IDK if we will stand pat at 63. BB has shown repeatedly not to value that spot much.

I wonder if moving up to the top of the 2nd or mid second will be on BB's mind.

It'll cost us our 3rd-rounder, at least, and I don't know if we have that many picks to spare next year.

Disagree --- Belicheck has repeatedly picked players in the range of 58 to 68... if there is someone he likes there, he will pick him there.

I think i needed to be more clear. By saying BB does not value that spot I don't mean he doesn't pick there cause of course he does. I mean he takes a lot of risk from that spot.

You can point out McCourty or Mankins being reaches in the first but it is plenty clear to me in round 2 (particularly later round 2) he is willing to role the dice on players and reach more cause he does not see the drop off as big between these late round 2 players and round 4-5 players.

I think those are two very different concepts. I agree with you that BB uses the 2nd round as his round to go after very high ceiling players (Richards and Wilson excepted) with a consumate associated bust rate but also very high pay-offs (Gronk, Vollmer most notably), but that is not a matter of not valuing the second round, it is a matter of trying to find high ceiling players when drafting very low every year. There are going to be warts on any high ceiling player the Patriots can look at as the "sure things" were already drafted in the Top 10.

If it's Tyler Boyd of Pitt, then that would do just fine.

Who are we taking at 64?

This guy

I'm not entirely joking either. If your first pick is at 64 then you are getting a compromised prospect no matter who you choose. Aguayo is supposedly one of the best kickers ever in CFB history (has only missed 4 FGs ever). Gostkowski missed a creditable 22 and has had an outstanding NFL career.

Obviously you want to get a kicker on day three but if you think Aguayo can be the best kicker in the NFL and yo can lock him up for at least five years at a reasonable price there's something to be said for guaranteeing coming out of this potentially wasted draft with an elite footballer.
