Why do you care?

no, I don't care..I find too many way to wrapped up in legacy, greatest ever, ect. I watch for the excitement of the games, play-off runs, super bowls. Belichick is not my dad, Brady is not my friend..legacy crap is overrated.

Completely agree with this. What do you get out of Brady or Belichick making the Hall of Fame? If i was them or was a relative, I would care. As a fan of them, I want them to be honored. But to go crazy (like this board has) about their reputation being tarnished is ridiculous. They're winners, nothing is going to change that... Why would I care what others think? I know they're great, I respect them. The opinions of others are insignificant. Keeping them out of the Hall of Fame or putting asterisks by their name won't take away the victories. I watch the game for things that happen on the field, things that happen after retirement are things the individual should be concerned about. I don't care if Brady gets in the Hall of Fame, he's already the greatest as far as I'm concerned. This is as ridiculous as getting angry that Brady is not rated 99 overall in Madden. Who cares? Just keep winning, I'm not concerned with any honor other than winning games.

I don't care much about other fan bases, but I prefer when I listen to the radio or put on a sports show that I don't have to hear TFB cheated. One of my pleasures in life is listening to the radio as I take a nap . And I just don't think its fair to Brady. AS the reporters like to ask/say " what will you tell the kids " so what have the kids learned? That someone who for his adult life has been a model sportsman and person..in the end was just like anybody else, a cheater or liar . So kids listen don't worry about being good cause even TB was bad.

NE kids....they learned that even you have a model person, that it counts for nothing.

It is not the responsibility of the NFL, the patriots, or Tom Brady to teach children about life. If some young child is so distraught over the Well's Report, maybe the parents should sit down and explain how the world works.

I am aggravated that the great SB win is being brushed over. What an end to a crazy game and crazy season.

The worst part though : the draft picks. I am planning on being a fan. The team I cheer for just lost a potentially valuable player... and the reason they lost it is infuriating.

How does it not matter if they win by my logic? I want them to win because it makes ME happy, not because of other people's opinions. I don't care about what other people think about them as long as they keep winning.
Just because I don't care what other fanbases think about my team means i don't care if they win? I don't need other fanbases approval of my teams success for me to be happy.

You "don't care" so much that you can't stop posting about just how much you "don't care". Kraft must be paying you overtime for all the nonsense you're spewing while you're not caring.

When good people get screwed I care I suppose.

It is sad to see. But considering that no poster on this message board knows all the facts about the case, I think the reaction is overblown. The people who made the decisions they made know much more about what truly happened than we do. I'm not saying the Patriots are guilty, but it's "more probably than not" they are "generally aware" of their chances of winning an appeal and the possible negative effects that continuing to fight this could have on the organization and the league.

And whether you admit it or not, you are all fans of the league. By being a fan of the patriots, you are a fan of the NFL. If the league perishes, so do the Patriots. If the league ceases to exist, so do the patriots.

I don't know where you're going. There is zero chance the league ceases to exist. I'm not at all worried that hampering the leagues ability to screw people will hurt the league. In fact, I think it will make the league much better.

I'm not sure what your posting a completely irrelevant quote from my sig has to do with this but, given your own recent posting history, it seems pretty clear that your comment to Brady FTW! about being "bright" is something you should have avoided.

The NFL sucks. And as much as it hurt me, the only way to hurt them is to stop watching. It's all fake BS designed by to the owners to spread parity and equal enjoyment to each fan base for MONEY. Each owner wants their fans to win a SB and buy Jerseys, tickets, hats. etc... you will never see a dynasty again. So please stop defending the "owner" Kraft. He is not that "fan' sitting in the stands 30 yrs ago. He is part of the machine. They took away a very special part of my life to appease a bunch of idiots, who have no idea what "real" football is. And why? MONEY!! But not mine anymore. And to be honest , I'm getting pretty used to the idea. I don't need it as much as I thought. I feel good hurting them

"Why do you care?"

Taken in broader context, I care because it's become more apparent I'm sharing this globe with mobs of drooling idiots, and since I am not suicidal it means I can reasonably expect to go on sharing for a good many years to come, a situation made less pleasant thanks to those same idiots doing their best to rob me of yet another of my psychological refuges.

You are the last one to be talking about someone not being "bright." Especially considering the fact that the quote we're talking about comes from a racist, sexist, blackmailing man who covered up murders and gave enemas to young girls. But of course, you're going to blindly quote a man without knowing anything about him, just like you will blindly attack Kraft without having any way of knowing all the facts about the situation.

I don't care. Jets fans are bitter...Colts fans are just morons ect ect. I am over it

Every fan base has it's share of morons, just like our own fan base.

No argument there* (I'm feeling especially cynical tonight, so only too happy to concede), but in this case I'm bothered by the existence of a peculiar sort of moron that thinks that if it can't have the golden goose it should chop the head off of someone elses. It hurts worse when the goose's owner effectively says, "If you want to kill any more, please let me know!"

*My ignore list is certainly well populated.

I agree with you up until the goose's owner part. It sucks about what happened, but I honestly believe he tried until he came to the realization that nothing positive would come out of this for the patriots. I believe his anger was real initially, he truly did care and truly was pissed. He did try to fight it during that anger with the wells context report and his statements. If he says it's what was best for the patriots, I'll believe him, especially since he has more information on it than any of us. Maybe i'm wrong, but there's a chance you're wrong also.
Kraft brought us Belichick. Belichick brought us Brady. Brady brought us four rings. I'll give Kraft a pass. He's done a lot for the city, he's created jobs, he's brought meaning and respect for Patriots football. Boston is no longer a Red Sox city.
He's made good decisions in the past. He's a very skilled businessman. He does love the Patriots. Let's wait and see how the next few seasons turn out. Will you still be so angry at ownership if they go out and win another Super Bowl this year? What if Kraft pays and makes a splash in the free agency to make up for the lost draft pick?

Again, I can't know what is in the man's heart or mind, I only know that what he did effectively says, "OK, you win, we're going to eat dirt". That doesn't sit well with me, and so long as the penalties stand it will continue to do so.

I have seen a lot of people talk about how "everyone believes the patriots are cheaters now."

Winners are usually despised and hated. The patriots were hated and excuses were made well before deflategate.

But I've seen people mention how no one will believe the patriots are innocent after Kraft backed down. That has been mentioned more so than the draft picks as far as I can tell.

So personally, why do you care what other fanbases think about the Patriots?
Does it matter what they think? If yes, why?

That's why I care......idiots like these folks.

Only way to gain satisfaction is keep on destroying teams on the field, especially the colts!
