Come the F on... Kraft to Larry King: I hope I helped Tom Brady's appeal.

Someone made this point on another post, but if Goodell reduces Brady's suspension to zero, wouldn't that mean Brady has nothing to appeal?

If Brady can't appeal, the NFL has no exposure to outside review and the Patriots are still screwed out of the draft picks if Goodell wants to play it that way (which would be pretty ****ed up if that penalty stands after Brady is cleared on appeal).

So, if Goodell is smart (and clearly he's not) and still wants to torpedo the Patriots (which clearly he does) and he's an evil scumbag (pretty clear that he is), he vacates Brady's suspension but not the fine and loss of picks.

It will be interesting to see how he plays this hand.

Most of the Jewish folks that I have met over the years were intelligent and successful, more than any other nationality. It has always made me wonder what the world may have missed out on when Hitler tried to wipe them out. Who knows what great breakthrough in science or medicine might have been accomplished without that horrible atrocity?
That's just another stereo type (although a positive one).

I have a lot of Jewish friends and have interacted with many Jewish people professionally. I found that, just like any other group of people they're composed of mixture of wonderful people (mensches) and also of those who live up to the worst stereotype reputations ascribed to them.

In general, they lobby effectively, have a real sense of community, and look out for each other. I don't mean this as a put down. I wish Catholics could be more like them in this regard.

That's the thing I can't figure out. How has Bob's capitulation helped Brady? What is the angle?

There is no chance Bob thought that his capitulation would help the team or Brady. This is just him trying to play both sides in the middle through a BS media leak. He even said in his presser that the fans would be upset. Bob should stand by his statement and let everyone know that his 1st priority is the "31" and his 2nd is the Patriots organization. Don't disrespect the fans with a BS statement that you thought your decision would help Tom. You made your bed, so sleep in it.

He's in a spot. He is on the owner's and commissioners side but wants Brady's suspension overturned.
Somebody ought to define "pro forma" for Bob. He could have gone through the motions of an appeal. When he lost, he could always claim, "I did my best". Instead of not even appealing, he gives the appearance of guilt and acquiescing to the punishment. If you object, you fight it......

Yep.

My wife's grandfather was a medic and landed June 7th of 1944. In the Battle of the Bulge the found a critically wounded SS officer. Another medic (smart ass from Brooklyn) told him that they could save his life if he had a blood transfusion from my gdad in law. Once the SS guy saw his star of David with his dog tags he refused. Died an hr later. That story still blows me away.

You should have called those guys up when they were making "Inglorious Basterds"... that would have fit right in :)

One thing we should have figured out a long time ago as medicine advanced is that skin color, ethnicity, religion, etc. are bullsh1t. Nobody's got black blood, white blood, or Jewish blood... they have 1 of 4 blood types.

Of course, if we DID get hip to that, some jackass would write a book on how AB negative people must be wiped out.

Re: The OP... just figured out where the sports media need to hang out to really get the straight poop on what's going on...

Lots of indignation about a post that has been mild compared to what's been on this board this week. Far more hateful things have been said about "the rich" not caring about people and other negative qualities. But I guess collectivizing the rich to stir a mob is different because of something something. When you look at the WW2 rhetoric about the Jews it had a lot to do with them being the wealthy class who controlled the money. Maybe we should look inward at our own jealous motives. After all jealousy explains the whole deflategate witch hunt to begin with.

No kidding. Just shows how far beyond your standard variety of racism those Nazi bastards were. It was then he realized how twisted they were. He never spoke of the 100s of soldiers that died in his care or the amount of sheer hell amd blood he had seen. Just the funny and nutty stories.

Yep. Greed, jeliously , money, power and vengence is what Deflategate is all about.

Integrity is the last thing on this list.

Bob, please quit while you're really, really far behind.

I'm sure you helped, Bob. Everyone knows that when you have something, such as a legal threat or other instrument of value which can be traded in for a benefit, the best thing to do is to throw it away, get on your knees, and beg forgiveness for even entertaining the thought of doing something.

Nice moral equivalency you're peddling here. Not buying it. FAIL.

Hey everyone, I'm still alive.

Just wanted to mention that in case you're worried that I'm so quiet in this thread.

Like Brady you wisely wait for the stupid to pass before commenting...

Now about the OP's topic...

"I hope Brady is traded". "Kraft is a loser". Jesus you people must have an average IQ of about 62.

Without Kraft none of the things the Patriots have accomplished over the last 15 years would exist. He brought in Belichick. Belichick brought in, and played, Brady. Kraft has let Belichick run the show. The Patriots are one of the top professional sports teams in the world. And on and on it goes.

The only thing we as fans should wish for is that Kraft continues to own the team, that Belichick continues to coach the team, and that Brady continues to play for the team. Beyond that, nothing matters.

Bob, please quit while you're really, really far behind.
Yes, it's so hateful of me to say we shouldn't collectivize people on superficial criteria and hate them. I can see why that's so controversial.

I bow to the mob's superior morality.

No way I want brady to accept a reduced sentence. We may move forward but his legacy will be forever tarnished if he accepts any penalty without fighting it further.

We can speculate all day long about what did/didn't happen, but no one can predict what happens in court.

There will be a lot of variables, from the interpretation of the arbitrator(s), the former precedent(s) set forth, any inclusion of new evidence (or not--which makes a big difference), who the arbitrator even is, and how much power if any, the initial ruling still has.

If you're preparing for an "all or nothing" scenario in this case, which seems to have been the popular (yet very incorrect) choice from January on, I'd suggest preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. In my opinion, we're going to have to deal with the reality that this may not go as hoped, and the fact that a middle ground is a possibility.
