Let's just say that after talking to Tom, Roger says Tom really wasn't guilty of anything, and takes away the suspension. There are still draft picks, fines, and the whole country beyond NE calling the Patriots cheaters. The Clots couldn't beat the Pats on the field, worked a sting with Kensil et al, and destroyed our team's reputation. The Pats didn't do anything but kick ass on the field. The fix being in makes things rotten on Park Avenue and Foxborough, and does nothing to clear the name. Kraft has miserably failed in protecting his brand. I think if it ever goes to court, Brady is going to kick ass and take no prisoners, and the NFL doesn't want any of that. The team has taken a lot of **** for nothing, least Kraft could do is actually defend his team and brand.
Ju, I hear ya. Look, I am with everyone in the anger for BK. However, I am trying to be pragmatic if not look at it rosily. If others don't want to I completely get it. But at this point I just don't see the benefit in keeping the anger going at Kraft. Boo him if he appears at games, avoid Patriot Place shops et al but keeping the anger at Kraft in the forefront just doesn't add up to me. To me this is still about that F_ _ K Goodell, that F_ _ K Wells, those F _ _ KS in the league office, and the media suckups.
Kraft has chosen to be a company man. I can live with that 99% of the time, it's very hard to this time. He chose to accept the reality that the POS commissioner and the rules he/they all setup made it very unlikely he could win. So he caved, he sucks for it, and that is that. The draft picks are gone and they ain't coming back. Done, over. This is now about Brady, period. IMHO it isn't even about the 4 games. Hell, Brady is kinda long in the tooth -- giving him a shortened season might be a win for the Patriots as he is fresher into the playoffs. Further, if JAG lights it up in the 4 games maybe he becomes hot trade bait (get the #1 back, trade JAG!), proves he is the heir apparent, we have a proven backup now. To me, maybe me only, this is about the satisfaction of seeing Brady cleared and the chop! chop! that then falls to goodell (and by extension his BS investigator too).
Point blank: to me this is about all the F_ _ KS (media, league employees) having to choke, albeit silently, on their words.
If I see that happen I can completely live with Brady taking a 4 game breather. Now will this kind of justice happen? Despite the good book, evil often does triumph.
