I've heard this theory more than few times that the NFL has something on Brady and will dare him to continue fighting this and take it took court after the appeal.

Given the leaks and the weak evidence they have that Brady knew why the hell would anyone think something is being held back?

Then I realize the mediots don't think the NFL has something they HOPE the NFL is holding something back because they know in their mind that what the NFL has isn't strong enough for a court to uphold the suspension and that being non-cooperative (even though the NFL doesn't have power to take a personal phone) is a fine at best for a guy in 15 years that has had zero problems and been one of THE faces of the league.

Not sure you can hold anything back, as far as I know all of the information has to be on the table prior to any further litigation.. that would be discovery.

Been hearing this **** since it happened.. most of the public thinks/hopes that the NFL has all this bad stuff on Brady/Patriots and hanging it over Bob's head. It is indeed canard, and Bob is simply just a coward...

Except how the NFL handled the investigation internally..

Ya but knowing how goodell's NFL operates I don't think something like discovery matters to them, they clearly do whatever they want. Such as having a guy that can legally only give out punishments for on the field unnecessary roughness penalties give out the harshest penalty in the history of the league

That would help #12's cause in Federal Court.. Tom deserves due process, as do all of us, all the way through.

Considering how ridiculously slanted the Wells report was just to get to their 'more probably than not generally aware' conclusion, I'd say they're grasping at straws that don't exist.

Then again this is the media that also talks about cameraplacementgate tapes being destroyed as a favor to Kraft...after the tapes were shown on a loop to the media before being destroyed. A hamster spinning on a wheel generates more power than what's going on in the brains of these cave trolls.

I know a certain 2 dooshbags on from 2-6 that really really really hope the NFL has "the goods" on Brady AND Belichick....

The only things the NFL are holding back are anything that favors the Pats. Like the text "deflate and give them your jkt" which was conveniently left out of the Wells report.

They can't, they have to move forward with what they have, the crappy wells report. Another falsehood the media repeats is now Brady has to give up his phone, this is wrong, his phone will never enter into the picture. The mediots make things up as they go along, now I'm listening to two mediots on weei say no way Brady takes this to court.
So much misinformation and ignorance

There's two issues here:

(1) A suit to have his suspension overturned. He would not necessarily have to turn over his phone in such a suit, since it might not come up.

(2) A defamation suit. Here he probably would have to turn over his phone, since truth is an absolute defense against defamation.

The mediots don't need to hope the NFL is holding something back, they can just make it up. When Brady's suspension is thrown out they'll come up with something.

The NFL and it's circus of investigators are probably fabricating evidence as we speak. I'm really kidding when I say this.....mostly.

I was going to post this same exact thread yesterday. This whole theory makes little sense for a number of reasons:
  • The Wells report needed to twist evidence just to build the evidence they have. When you take away the BS science in the report that everyone easily poked holes especially when Wells ignored Anderson's recollections of gauges, all there are are some text messages and some BS excuses that the Pats didn't cooperate. No way would they put out such a flimsy document if they had more. There was no way of knowing that people would latch onto the text messages so much and wouldn't call the entire document a sham when people started to tear it apart. I think if the Patriots handled this better in the press (not using the Deflator being weight loss explanation even if it is true), they could have thrown much more doubt on the Wells report.
  • Why would Goodell let the Pats go on for over a week trashing the report and go on the offensive against him and the League if he had more damning evidence? Goodell would have called Kraft before he released the report and told him what he had and what they were holding back and if the Pats fought, this would come out or at very least he is doing him a favor so repay the favor by not fighting the decisions or the report. Clearly the Pats had the report for a while before the report was released (despite Goodell claiming he and everyone else in the NFL got it within an hour of it being released).
  • Even if Goodell has more proof on the Patriots, how could release it now without the media crying cover up. There is no way Goodell could ever even leak whatever he has at this point because it would look as bad for the League as it would for the Patriots. People would accuse him as being biased toward the Patriots. It would hurt him at this point almost as much as it would the Patriots.
  • Reports were that Kraft and Goodell met and had a good conversation and even hugged it out at a party that had hundreds of people (I think this story was overstated to make Goodell look good). Goodell isn't giving Kraft proof of other cheating that he found in the middle of a party. Even if Goodell told Kraft that he had the evidence at the party without showing it to him, I doubt Kraft would have taken Goodell on his word and hugged it out with Goodell based on his word after how Goodell screwed him.
  • Everyone in the media were predicting that Kraft was going to back down and then when he did, they turned the argument that there had to be a reason why he did from that Goodell told them was more dirt or that the Pats were surprised how little support they had with the owners. But they already knew Kraft would stomp his feet and try to publicly shoot holes in the Wells report and then fall in line with the league and then they were shocked when Kraft did exactly that.
  • Brady and the NFLPA are going to tear apart the Wells report and Goodell and his underlings' actions no matter what Kraft did. Sure Kraft could have kept fighting and gone through the BS appeals process and continued to poke holes in the report, but he and the Patriots cannot do as much damage as Brady and the NFLPA will. Based on the DeMaurice Smith interview on Friday, Brady and the NFLPA have no intention of backing down. I think Brady may go as far as filing a defamation suit and that could expose a sting and/or proof that the NFL leaked fake information to smear the Patriots. Whatever Kraft could do to the League is nothing compared to what Brady will do.

This is the winner right here
