Asking for your support

How is the Pats Front Office reacting to the outrage expressed in this Forum?

  • They are very concerned that they have lost the loyalty of their fans.

  • They think that people are mad for now, but that the anger will blow over by opening day.

  • They dismiss us as a bunch of losers who have nothing better to do than post out here.

  • They don't care enough about our opinion to visit the Forum in the first place.

  • Other. Please elaborate in a post.

I was just wondering...

I'd say that the Forum, which I believe represents the most committed Pats fans, is running about 95% against what Kraft did in San Francisco, with most of the other 5% generally identifiable as trolls.

So, if someone from the organization is monitoring the Forum, how would you describe what you think is the reaction of the Patriots organization to the anger that most of us are expressing at this time?

Here are a few possible reactions that the Front Office might have.

What do you think? Add your own version if there are any I haven't covered.

PS: I've made this a poll where your vote is "invisible" so you'll be more likely to say what you really think.

They would be idiots not to monitor what's being said about the team in social media, that includes this forum. Reaction has been so overwhelmingly negative though, I pity the fool that has to tell Kraft what's being said.

All of Bob's employees are delivering gift baskets to the NFL office right now. Mike Kensil just sank his teeth into a nice wonderful homemade New England cookie.

...and Kraft just sank his tongue into Goodell's rectum.

I would be willing to bet that someone from the Patriots has stopped by here from time to time, but I doubt there's any active effort to monitor this place. They probably figure--assuming they're even aware of this place--that we're not really a representative sample of Pats fans, and our opinions ultimately don't really matter.

Even if the backlash was acknowledged, Kraft seems to be pretty clearly under the impression that it's just a temper tantrum that will die down by the time there are football games being played that he needs us to watch/go to.

Kraft has demonstrated that he thinks the fanbase is child-like and ought to depend on his judgment of what is best for the Patriots. There could be Pulitzer Prize winning material posted here and he would probably think "that's cute - too bad they don't see the big picture like me"

It was a long time ago but I interviewed for an internship in the PR department and one of the tasks I would have been responsible for was daily clippings. Basically getting every patriot reference from an extensive list of media.

Getting that would be easier these days so I see no reason why they wouldn't drill deeper into blogs and message boards.

If anybody works for him, tell him that there is a fictional book called Game of Thrones. Tell him to read about a character called Ned Stark and how his honor system has contributed to unimaginable cruelty to his wife and children.
In the end, his children gets raped.

I may or may not have a connection to Kraft... please don't fight me fighting words scare me...

:D

I disagree. They'd be foolish not to take what is said here seriously. This is a high-traffic site.

They're a big company so it's assured they monitor social media in some form or another. How deep that goes or how much they drill down would be up for speculation. It's most likely they monitor Twitter and they may/may not be buying Facebook mentions data. (Although this is often expensive and the efficacy of Facebook posts is questioned in some marketing circles.) They may not have someone following the message boards directly because you'd need a regular person actually doing that, it's not easy data to grab like Twitter is.

I mean, that said, I'm sure some people in the organization are fans of the team and peruse on their own time. That doesn't indicate anything meaningful comes from that activity, though.

I think some of the Boston media reads on here (this site has been credited a couple of times) and I'd speculate the Patriots' gathering on this forum specifically comes from whatever interaction is happening between us and the Reiss or Curran types of the world.

You're assuming that they care what any of us think. They'll start caring about fan opinions as soon as it their bottom line is negatively affected, and not a moment before.

They definitely care about fan opinion but they are never going to let that dictate their decisions. Like any other big company they pay the most attention to the bottom line, and angry as most are about this they know it won't affect that. Probably the most likely financial hit will be to merchandize, but their other streams of revenue will be unharmed.

They care what we think insofar as identifying and tracking trends. They know they've got a BIG PR problem right now and sources like this site provide info used to help them strategize.

So they're perusing the Kraft rump swap apologist threads for propaganda ideas?
