DeMaurice Smith takes Goodell to task

"I think the Wells Report delivered exactly what the client (NFL) wanted."

Yes. Kraft may have layed down without a fight but the NFLPA and Tom's lawyers are going to take these scum bags head on. Brady is innocent and anyone who has read the report knows it. I didn't imagine several months ago that I'd soon be eternally condemning Kraft and pumping my fist for DeMaurice Smith and the NFLPA.

Let's not forget that Bob also wanted the report to come to those findings. Whatever is in the best interest of the collective league, especially the other 31 teams, has Bob's blessing.

This is a marquee case for the NFLPA and Smith knows it. It's so disgustingly obvious that this was a set up to even haters that the NFLPA is salivating over it. That's why it's all the more disappointing that Kraft ****ed out.

Goodell remaining arbitrator. Just heard on eei.... (tweet from NFLPA?)

That's actually not true and proven by at least three separate statements from Kraft, so why do you say it? Makes you feel better?

It was clearly a joke that took Bob's own words to their logical extremes, and anyone could tell the post was not actually factual. Almost anyone.

Lets hope Goodell is stupid enough to fight the NFLPA and Brady wants to go the distance. Brady's lawyers must be salivating at the chance to rip apart the wells report.

My fear is that Goodell will vacate Brady's suspension and give him nothing to litigate. Is that a realistic concern or would Brady have a case even with his suspension revoked?

If Goodell actually has any smarts left, he would do this, but I have come to believe that Goodell is really trying to pander to the rest of the jackals that would turn on him if he gave in and vacated the suspension. I really hope he is that stupid. I want this to turn into a huge phucking ****show because that will only lead to more transparency around "what" really happened.

I fear the same. Good question.
Suing for defamation is much more difficult and would not be an NFLPA suit but a personal one.

I would think that even if the suspension is withdrawn by Goodell and his thug monkeys, that Brady still has grounds for a civil action. He can claim, it seems to me, that he was the victim of a malicious campaign by the Commissioner, acting on behalf of unknown parties, or in concert with same, to smear his reputation, good name, etc, and in doing so also threatened and/or harmed his current and potential revenue associated with "Brady Inc." (I made that name up to represent Brady's brand, his ability to market himself based upon his reputation both on and off the field).

Discovery is a 2-edged sword, and Goodell and his thug monkeys might be well advised to settle with Brady for whatever demands he makes, otherwise if Discovery shows evidence of a conspiracy or even intent to harm Brady absent verifiable evidence that he violated any part of the NFLCBA, then the NFL's front office is in deep Kimchi and it will only go downhill from there.

How beautiful would it be if this cover-up spiraled to such a point TB held so much leverage he could actually demand RG to vacate the loss of picks. I'm sure TB isn't happy with losing those players either.

TB: "OK, Roger. Thank you for withdrawing the suspension. We both know you can't have this hot mess in court. So, we're almost there. Just one last thing, about that fine and those draft picks..."

RG: "Umm, ok. I'll rescind the team punishment as well. Press conference tomorrow. But, no court r-r-right?"

TB: "Yes. Thanks Rog, but tonight please, you're the best. Alrighty then, were done. I'll be sure to let Bob kno... Hmmm... You know what... On second thought Rog, let's make you look good too, keep the million..."

Interesting that the rumor about Goodell not stepping aside came out about 1/2 hour after the NFLPA said they hadn't heard anything. Then they immediately walked it back. This is an organization that doesn't know its ass from its elbow.
