Another home run hit by Curran on the shadiness of the league and Wells

Starting to think Curran should fund a Kickstarter to buy the team from spineless-Kraft. He is the only one who has consistently asked the right questions and demanded answers. Other than Reiss who has just gotten the right facts and always the facts (BTW he has stayed out of the opinion, probably because Big Brother ESPN wants more scandal against the Pats), Curran has been the only saving grace from this. Big kudos to him.

Curran Nailed It! Imagine what Brady's legal team would do?

Brady is the reason why I think Wells never looked at the League. If Wells ever found evidence that there was a sting or proof of a specific person in the League leaked the 2 PSI story or any other damning story, he would be delivering Brady a slam dunk defamation case on a silver platter. If Brady can prove a sting operation and/or that the League leaked damaging false information to blow this story out of proportion (the 2 PSI Mort report or Kelly Naqi's report), that is all he needs to prove malicious intent which is the barrier for a famous person to bring a defamation suit.

Was just about to post this article in a thread, great understanding of how this all really went down. There is NO way that brady backs down from this, it will be too easy for him to expose the sham that took place at the AFCCG

Great article

Curran, Jenkins, Chatham: The proud, the few. Kraft wants to end it. But those nagging facts....

the shadiest dealings in this mess didn’t happen in Foxboro. They happened on Park Avenue.

So Brady gets a four-game suspension for undermining “the public confidence” in the NFL over an esoteric and unproven matter of air, and his team is stripped of draft choices and $1 million. I see. And what is Roger Goodell’s punishment for turning the entire moral underpinning of the league into sand? The NFL is so desperate to look like a rock of integrity after a year of truly damaging scandals that it has ginned up a case out of literally . . . nothing.

the NFL owners will be forced to recognize that their current leader is still the same doofus that Paul Tagliabue rebuked as "selective, ad hoc, or inconsistent" in vacating much of Goodell's punishments on Bountygate. Nothing has changed. And this round qualifies as a repeat offense by my count. Pretty sure there's a provision in there for the harshness with how repeat offenders are handled as well...

I don't want to take anything away from Curran, I think he's great but....what I don't get is that every column that Tom has written merely states the obvious and yet the rest of the sporting world has gone through intellectual contortions to deny the obvious. A few writers get it and probably more will in time but wouldn't you think that people who love the game of football would be all over the lies and deceit? Even if it is the Patriots?

It is a great read and will be minimized by anyone outside of this board as "homerism" or other such nonsense..

That is why #12 has to fight this as far as and as long as he can.. the NFL f..ed up and their bluster only hides the facts..

Exactly and there is a very good chance that anyone of those points you made just might be true. How does it not look like a Sting Operation? If allegations were brought to League then a verbal or memo could have been sent out to knock it off, air pressure etc will not be tolerated. But Fix Was In, Mortensen ran with it, public opinion kicks in etc etc etc If anyone needs to give up their cell phones & texts it should be Ravens, Colts, League Officials all involved.

Jenkinsian. Or should I say Sally's column was Curransian?

There was a time when I didn't like Curran very much. Thought he was basically just a ****-stirrer. Over the past few years I've slowly come to accept that I was wrong, though, and the last couple months have really made that point. He's quickly become my favorite voice in the media re: the Pats.

Glad he'll ask Goodell a tough question. National guys are afraid to.

I'm disappointed Reiss is not raising questions and poking the finger in the wound.
