Firstly ,,very warm greetings to all , and wherever in this World you are,,,Salam Alaikum.
I must confess the last few days has been like a nightmare to me , as i know for most of you. You see i am angry inside , and confused for many many reasons.
I am confused that we are the legitimate and rightful Super Bowl and World Champions yet we are suffering instead of rejoicing ,,all over a matter of air in a football that never in the NFL History was an issue.
I am confused even more over Robert Kraft's backing down even though i know for sure he is hurting a lot inside. I love him , i respect him as an elder and wise man , and will never boo or hate him because he had his reasons to do what he did. I am confused how we as Patriots are at odds with each other over this and how some are even saying they will stop supporting our Great Team. As a fan from the Middle East,,i grew up dreaming of going to Harvard,,which i didn't,,but since 1985 i love this Team more than most of you here and will support them till i die. I will never turn my back ,,because of the Jealousy that exists in the USA over Boston and the New England Patriots.
I am confused at why at half time,,they checked all 12 balls of the Patriots but only 4 of the Colts.
I thought the USA was supposed to be a free and fair country for Justice and yet Judge Goodell prounced Brady guilty before any evidence was shown.
I am confused at the hatred for the GOAT and i pray he has the last word and laugh Inshallah.
I will wear my Pats shirt this summer with pride , and tell anyone who dares to say anything to get ready for your FU Season from Belichick and the Team.
Our dressing room this season has enough material lasting till San Francisco so i am not worried about winning.
Lastly there is no way i boo on opening day but cheer and enjoy the fact we are the Champions.
Nobody can take that away.
I may be an Arab but my alliance and love is more than you could imagine for the reigning Super Bowl Champs.
I pray you all keep well and remember to rejoice every second as World Champions.
Justice will be served by the Almighty God in due time. Peace

Is that you, Intervention?

Salam Alaikum

I believe the reason (or at least the reason cited by the refs in the Wells report) that they only checked 4 Colts footballs but checked 11 or 12 Pats footballs is they checked the Pats' footballs first but "they didn't have enough time" during halftime to check the rest of the Colts footballs. Many people have pointed out that the official explanation strains credulity.

Waalaikum Salam brother

The only reason I can think of that Kraft is backing down is that all the other owners are against Kraft because of jealousy. So if Kraft were to fight, he'd definitely lose a lot of money that could be invested back into the team. He probably accepts this but is secretly telling belichick to destroy every team they face. That's the economist in me.

The fan in me wants Kraft to be defiant like Al Davis. Maybe the truth is not what it seems. No one knows but time will tell. All I know is that it hurts now.

He didn't even have to go the Al Davis route. Just appeal the damn punishments! What is the problem here? We've all read that drivel of a report and can see the punishment is completely outlandish! Even if he lost the appeal, he can at least say he tried and doesn't want to sue the NFL out of respect for it. That probably would have been good enough for many Patriots fans. But he turtled just a few short hours after talking to other owners. Why? Because they're mostly all jealous of NE's success and want them to be brought down a peg or two (as we heard reported by Mike Freeman, I believe, one exec said "they finally got those .......!"). And don't forget Kensil's, "you're in big effing trouble!" during the AFCCG.

Kraft could have simply filed an appeal, presented the team's side, probably lost and moved on. Yes, some would like to have seen him go to court because the punishment is just so out of whack but probably would have been able to live with it and be united as us against the rest of the NFL. Kraft pissed all over that by succumbing so quickly to pressure from his "fellow" owners because he clearly puts being a part of that elite group ahead of his own team's best interest. He didn't even bother to fight the accusations of NE being cheaters.

Kraft cares more about the wishes of the many fans (those of 31 other teams) than of the few (those of his own team).

I do not find this admirable at all.

Aaron Hernandez had reasons for what he did. So did Benedict Arnold. So did every other miscreant, great or small. Having reasons for what you do doesn't make what you do right.

I have refrained from using AH as an example of a supposed good guy turning bad. But it has been on my mind all along. People compare Krafts good deeds and want to weight them against his bad deeds. This is not Kraft's first FOLD. He didn't fight or argue about Spygate, just let it happen. And now this terrible act against the team.
This act has overshadowed everything the team has accomplished. They are the Super Bowl Champs! But because of Kraft not supporting the team and the fans and digging into this travesty of a frame job, all we are is cheaters. It digs at my consciousness every moment. The days after the Bowl a faded memory! All that's left is anger.
So I will boo Kraft until he proves that he deserves better. And with a jellyfish for a backbone, it will take him a very, very long time to do that. Also, if Jonathan sits silently and supports his father. Then I suppose in this case the sins of the father will indeed be passed down to the son!

I don't disagree with you. I'm just trying to play Devil's advocate. I'm completely disgusted by the turn of events.

With all due respect Spygate is a completely different animal then Deflategate.

While they both share as being contrived by the NFL HQ in Spygate BB admitted his guilt. He was in fact videoing from an improper location as the bureaucrats had hoped he would.

In Deflategate there was no breaking of the rules and no admission. As for Kraft time will prove he has done far more good then harm, except for Fans emotions in this moment of anger and pain.
