why would Goodell reduce them after Kraft gave up fighting?
There is no means to reduce them he refused to appeal.

An agreement between the two you say this I will do that

That makes no sense. There is nothing for Goodell to give, since Kraft agreed to accept the largest penalty in NFL history. What is going to do, mow Krafts lawn? When you lose on EVERY POINT when you ARE INNOCENT that is the definition of getting nothing back.

And don't pull the card that he brokered a deal for Brady, because Brady doesn't need it, or want it, and suggesting it says that Brady is a liar and cheater who needed this scumbag to pull strings to get him off.
Did you notice that Brady and the NFLPA ramped up their fight to have Goodell thrown out as arbitrator? Don't do that if the worst owner ever got him a deal.

Maybe you are right. I haven't seen any ramp up by the NFLPA since 1:30 PM yesterday did I miss it?

I don't know how I could not be right. Your idea says that Goodell bullied Kraft into accepting the full penalty and dropping his appeal and Goodell promised him to reduce the penalty. It makes no sense.
Yes, they again called for Goodell to sent this to an independent arbitrator yesterday afternoon.

I read what you are saying but I find it strange that Saturday night Kraft and Goodell are at a birthday party speak then Kraft hugs Goodell followed by onwers meeting starting Monday then on Tuesday at 1 PM Kraft folds. Kraft isn't getting something out of this? Why not wait until appeal day or day after?

Sunday night was the King interview where he was indignant.
What changed?
He went to SF and the other owners told him they expect his priority to be the league not the Patriots.

Its really simple.
The NFLs authority over the NFLPA and the conduct policy has been getting killed in court. If one of their own attacks Goodell, the chances of him losing power over the players increases, and the league suffers.

31 owners told Kraft he had a choice, side with the Elite or side with The Help.

and again, how could he have gotten anything, the full egregious penalties stand.

Perhaps he got a week at Jerry Jones private condo.

You are probably right I just hate to believe that's what happened. I been a Pats fan for 55 years never missed a game either in person or TV so this hurts.

Sorry, but you can make all the excuses you want but you're a fool for giving him more of your money.

He is counting on people just like you who will find any excuse to go to the games and give him more money.

Teach your son a greater lesson about "principles" and don't go to the games.......or...........go to the games and give more money to Spineless Bob and show Bob that he was right about people like you after all.

There's just 1 problem with your genius plan to make kraft poor..... Bob already has my money... We pay for season tickets in March. What exactly do you suggest me to do?

There are no refunds, and if I resell them on ticket exchange, he makes even more money.

I am going to the game that I have ALREADY PAID FOR and let my son enjoy celebrating the team and booing the owner that sold them out. Don't even dare attack me and the values I instill in him. You speak with no clue in your brain... You just have blind rage about what happened and in the process make an ass of yourself as you pass judgement on me. Back off.... I did nothing wrong.

But tell me one thing..., are you a season ticket holder? Are you suggesting that you would be willing to give up your season tickets that have been in your family for years... And therefore give up all future memories (remember Kraft will not be there forever).

I'm willing to bet that's a big fat NO. You have nothing to lose so you act high and mighty.
Tell me exactly what you are giving up to keep money away from kraft... What great sacrifice are you making?........ Exactly.

I have a 1 year old who will have no memory of this, but will enjoy going to games with his dad and brother someday.... And maybe his own kids someday when I pass them on to him. What lesson am I supposed to be teaching him?

Actually, I'll say whatever I want and if you don't like it then don't post.

So when you go to the game and you hand Kraft more money for parking or drinks or food then just write "Sucker" on your forehead so everyone can identify you.

Now, if you can go there and spend no money then good for you....you can have your cake and eat it too.

BTW, I share tickets and I will not be going to those games nor selling them. I will not be purchasing the 3 games to glory dvd which I really wanted and not a penny for new gear. Is that enough...do I qualify?

So do you want me to answer your question about how you should answer your kid or are you going to go all "Drama Queen" on me again?

I did like that she paid attention to the language Kraft used, but that was something I noticed as well. I kept waiting for a punch line that didn't come. So, according to this article, the big surprise that Kraft has in store is that Brady is likely going to win in court and thus compromise Goodell's position? Can anyone help me out?

Edit: One of the things I was waiting to hear that the Schefter leak about the NFL wanting the Patriots to suspend the equipment guys was true, and that they were somehow going to prove Goodell lied in his press conference. Like there would be some plan to expose an email or videotape of someone from the NFL or Goodell himself ordering it.

Edit 2: Ok... maybe the trick she's suggesting is that by stepping aside, Kraft plays on Goodell's desire to have people like him, and now Goodell feels he can and must go off on Brady, whereas before Goodell's plan for compromise was to elminate Brady's suspension. So now if Goodell sets aside the suspension, people will think he is weak because he set up some sort of deal with Kraft, thereby forcing him to keep some sort of suspension and thus ensure this thing gets to court via Brady?

Still not seeing why it's necessary, but would enjoy being led in that direction.

There is only ONE truth...the TRUTH I have been posting on this board thousands of times since 2007.

jeezus krist, the freakin' NFL officail twitter jerkoff is a Rat fan...we were NEVER in the game with these rats. It's very clear to anyone LOOKING, suspending Brady THIS LATE in his career, taking a 1st round pick AGAIN, PLUS another pick? Goodell is determined to destroy the Patriots outlier and bring this team back to the pack, which is the PLAN he was hired to implement, P-A-R-I-T-Y. THIS is why Kraft folded...the Billionaire Boys Club. That's BILLION...a 1 followed by 9 zeroes. None of us will never even BEGIN to know what goes on in the minds of these oligarchs but it sure ain't sympathy for any fanbase.

The NFLPA will prove in court that the NFL botched the process. That's what the NFLPA does, whether it's Tom Brady they're defending, Ray Rice, or Aaron Hernandez.

A neutral arbitrator will, if we're lucky, eviscerate the Wells Report.

Kraft's craven press conference adds nothing positive that I can see to that favorable scenario. It also adds nothing positive to the less favorable alternatives. So I don't buy the justifications for Kraft at all.

What Kraft SHOULD have done is stepped back in some ways from his contributions to helping promote the NFL, with a message like:

"The NFL is an amazingly great product, and I'm proud of my contributions to helping promote it. All this extra money in our pockets -- and in the pockets of our players! -- is a direct signal that we're creating more value and enjoyment for fans; it's a win-win-win. HOWEVER, at this point in time we have a product problem we need to fix; fairness and even competition is important to fans, and that's fallen by the wayside. Besides helping run my team, I'm going to focus my efforts on fixing the disciplinary mess that has arisen in the NFL, because that's more important long-term than yet another marketing deal.

"While it may be painful to the league in the short term to admit the depth of our problems -- and while I'm certainly embarrassed by my role in allowing them to get this far -- frankly addressing them is surely in the longer-term interests of fans, players and team owners alike."
