I mean its so simple, so obvious what went on. Unless you have an agenda. Worst of all you have people saying ok maybe the evidence was weak. BUT Brady didn't cooperate ! Bad boy !!! Who ever heard of such a thing.

Well, at least -someone- outside New England is capable of rational thought. The truth is so obvious that's it's kind of embarassing for Wells or Goodell to continue to preach how thorough and impartial the 'investigation' was. How do they sleep at night?? (answering my own question - they are comforted by the stacks of money they're lounging in) How does Bob Kraft decide this is acceptable, and we should all hold hands and accept it?

I get this at work all day here in the midwest - people ask me what I think about Brady cheating, but if I say anything of substance it's fingers in ears, 'La la la la they cheated again la la la'. Everyone desperately -wants- it to be true. Truly a 'mob' mentality, foistered entirely by the Jet-riddled NFL office. It's unbelievable.

What's funny is the haters are all sitting there saying 'well, why does brady just turn over his phone?'

completely dismissing the endless list of questions pertaining to the INITIAL CHARGE

so nobody has proof that anything bad happened at the AFCC, but Brady is supposed to prove his innocence.......for something that didn't happen (at least not by actual scientific standards)

there was no exoneration that would have been confirmed with Brady's phone.......Wells would have twisted that just like he twisted which gauge Anderson used.

Brady is smart to wait on anything that stands to benefit him until it can actually benefit him.

He can ALWAYS produce the phone........but a lack of evidence on the phone would have been deemed uncooperative due to the fact that Brady deleted the messages that never existed in the first place.

The NFL is an illegitimate business that needs to have its anti-trust exemption removed

If deflated football are so important, why aren't the Colts getting fined. Their footballs were deflated too. Of course we know the footballs aren't really the issue.

"The records suggest Brady’s not withholding; he’s just a union man who objects to the precedent of giving his private phone to a commissioner who comes on like J. Edgar Hoover."

This!! Ding ding ding. This whole sham "invesetigation" and persecution of TB and the PATS reminds me of McCarthyism, which was considered to be legit at one point but eventually revealed as outrageously unjust.

Where the ineptitude and injustice is so glaringly obvious, and the only thing keeping anyone from seeing it is their own jealousy and irrational hatred. . . eventually the mob mentality will settle down and the truth will also be glaringly obvious. History has a way of doing that.

Sally Jenkins is on the right side of history and SPOT ON. Excellent article.

I think it has more to do with presenting fact when they stand to benefit you and not get manipulated by a prosecutor with all the leeway in the world

Great article! Reads like it was written by one of us!

It's a shame there's no justice in the sports world.

Did anyone notice that Gostkowski also refused to hand over his phone, but Brady got punished for not cooperating and Gostkowski didn't. Shouldn't "the integrity of the game" mean that a failure to cooperate be the same for everyone? (I don't actually want Gostkowski punished, just making a point) Favre also didn't hand over his phone and just got a fine. If they're going to punish for not handing over their phone, how do they explain the differences in punishments especially after stating that Brady cooperated in everything else? I think it's sadly hilarious that the NFL is so idiotic that they can't figure out how to be consistent when issuing punishments from one case to the next, or even how to be consistent in the same case.

Ugh. This article so perfectly exhibits the outrageous behavior of Roger Goodel and the innocence of Tom Brady. It's incredibly depressing to see the bad guys winning after so many years of success.

And it only infuriates me more that Kraft could dare put the league above his team and Tom Brady. Gut wrenching. Sickening.

This is getting to be a weekly thing with Sally. She destroyed The Dope and defended the Pats last week, also. God bless her heart. Sally could give Shank, Borges, Volin, Tomase et al lessons in literacy, clarity and fairness.

as much as people want to believe, goodell does not have ultimate power in the appeal process......

top it off with the total clusterf*ck that the whole video thing was with ray rice, the front office and none of the owners should be feeling very good about what is to come holes get torn open in the whole deflategate thing......

the fallacy here is Kraft's belief that this thing is somehow going to go quietly now that he is out......he's still going to get dragged through it, he and the league are still going to be pounded.....

I'm guessing she actually read the report and thought about it. Unlike most others.

The good news is when this goes to court, Kessler, et al, will do an even better job of tearing this 243 page roll of toilet paper to pieces than Ms. Jenkins and she made it look really bad without being a highly paid attorney.

Fortunately I think Kraft's betrayal will be good for Tom in a way. It'll mean this thing is going to court and the league will have egg on their face. No compromises, no reductions, no letting it go.

Bruschi publically expressed disappointment in Kraft. You can bet Tom is feeling that even stronger. Brady isn't going to fall in line w/Kraft's actions.

Don't click on the videos, they will piss you off. They don't at all belong with this article.
