Since the right to appeal officially ends after Thursday, I would expect that on Friday we will get a new statement from Kraft. I expect he will say that he did what he thought was best for the fans, and now realizes that many fans are really upset about this. Knowing this he wishes he could reconsider and take up the fight, but that opportunity is over, then something stupid like its time to heal, move forward, blah, blah, blah.

Robert Krafts next public statement will be the litmus test of just how stupid he thinks Patriots fans are.

I was devastated by Kraft stepping aside. Shut down, slept .
Woke up groggy.
The Monday Mortensen Myth hit me that way.

Moved on to Brady.
A Possible scenario. (repost)

RK stepping aside avoided a direct legal fight with the other 31 owners.
Now non adversarial, free to speak.
RK has said, I trust you guys, this is a team, we work it out.
So now, Kraft is no threat to them.

The owners (majority) likely have not even bothered to read Wells.
They do not know, do not care about guilt or innocence of the Pats.
They care about their own interests. Their players, their team.
Their bottom line.

But the one thing here they care very deeply about is limiting the player's power and pay,
maintaining control over the union, maintaining control over the players.
This is not the old George Preston Marshall NFL plantation, but it is not that far off.
Imagine no salary cap, Top 100 College Free Agency?
Hear the screaming agony.

These elements work to the pats advantage.
When it looks like Brady's well dressed and perfectly mannered Pit bull has them,
err, by the balls?

Roger's phone will be ringing.
Call it off, settle this thing.

In light of some conconcted "newly discovered evidence" (likely set up via a leak),
the Patriot's penalty is reduced to fine of $100,000 because, err,
Kraft said bad things on that webpage thing.

Brady
Fined for not playing phone tag.
"Refusing to integritize the integrity".

No finding of guilt.

I'm stupid. Not sure how stupid. Might need an intervention because I do need help.

What we can anticipate in response is new threads here praising Bob for his courage & honesty.

Kraft's best PR at this time ... out of sight for a few months.

If such a statement were to be issued, then I would be forced to rescind my self imposed gag order that took effect at 8:00 AM today restraining me from wise ass mockery of $%^@# Kraft. It has been a difficult 6.5 hours so far and I don't know how much longer I can last.
If a ^%%# Kraft/ Goodell hugging photo materializes..........evacuate

There's nothing he can say to take back what he's done. I half expected a broken hearted by the fan's response to him which would only enrage me more.

Right to appeal? That is in the CBA, the agreement between the league and the players union. What does it have to do with Kraft? The only thing Kraft could do is sue, which would violate NFL bylaws.

And in case you didn't know, the commissioner does ultimately have power to recommend the cancellation or forfeiture of a franchise.

Has Kraft said how exactly this is best for the fans? That is a simple question that should be answered. I don't wanna hear how it's best for the league. I wanna hear about how moving on and not fighting for your reputation is good for the fans. the owners and the commish are always talking about the INTEGRITY of the game. What about protecting the INTEGRITY of the Patriots? Why isn't he fighting for that? It's obvious to me now that the moment Kraft thinks Brady is declining he'll turn his back on him too. When he demanded an apology I thought man we have the best owner who is at heart a fan. Now throw him in with Jerry Jones as owners I have no respect for. What a turnaround. What a joke.

Get your facts straight.

The team has the right to appeal through today. Which part of "We will not appeal" led you to believe they couldn't appeal.

The Commissioner does not have the legal right to rescind a franchise because the owner thinks he did a sucky job and sues him.

I am sure his answer would be something to the effect of having the support of the other 31 owners helps him effect growth and change in the league and move it forward. What is good for the league is good for the Patriots.

Respect that, but not nearly long enough for me..don't even want to look at him now. If the NFL is as corrupt and inconsistent/inept as it's been demonstrating to us for a good while now, it needs to be blown the hell up, and rebuilt with integrity. Someone's gotta have the balls to do it. The NFL ought not devolve into the WWE or Barnum & Bailey's. Rant out....

Hilarious he said he did what was best for the fans when he literally just said he was doing what's best for the league over the team's interest. I hope Florio and or Curran roast him on that.

Ok but the pats don't have the support of the 31 owners. Sure they support Kraft taking punishment and ruining our reputation but they aren't gonna help us

Kraft will announce to the world that he is a Jets fan.

I mean his answer to why this was good for the Pats was that BY QUITTING he personally retained the personal support of those 31, and thereby can really go do some awesome things that will make the league so great Patriot fans will be glad he sold them out for something even cooler.

Kraft will announce to the world that he is a Jets fan.
He already did. Jets, Vikings, Browns, Packers, and 27 more. Oh, plus the Patriots because they are part of the 32 that you must make your decision based on what is best for.

Link me to the relevant rules that show the club has the right to appeal. The NFL bylaws give Goodell disciplinary power without appeal for competitive violations.

Brady's appeal is part of the CBA as well as being stated specifically in the NFL bylaws that players can appeal suspensions...

I don't need to link you to any rules, it is a fact.
I'm beginning to understand why you are so out of touch on this topic, you have not been paying attention.
It was widely discussed that the team had until 5/21 to appeal. Kraft himself announced "I will not appeal"
Much was made lately over the fact that the Chargers appealed their discipline in the towel issue.

Brady's appeal is part of the CBA as well as being stated specifically in the NFL bylaws that players can appeal suspensions...
Yes, and that has nothing to do with Krafts separate right to appeal.
