I suspect if there were a compelling argument to be made, you'd find some sympathy.

None of the pro-Kraft arguments I've read here have been compelling, and most are borderline incoherent. Perhaps coming to grips with the betrayal would be a wiser choice than playing contrarian and attempting to defend the indefensible.
I know he betrayed us. He's a dumbass. Point?

I'm not the one with my feelings hurt lol you guys are the ones giving me the butthurt dislikes. Honestly I agree with you guys a lot than the OP but the negative responses you guys are giving him just for that are ridiculous.

Someone who continues to complain about everyone else complaining is even more ridiculous. I am pi$$ed off about this whole thing. Does it ruin my day? No, but I like to blow steam over it by coming to this site. Do I feel like it makes a difference? Probably not. Buzz off already.

Also, in one of your posts yesterday you made a comment about people here having nothing better to do with their lives .....do you even see the irony in that genius?

Being unhappy that the leader of an organization that you support which has been branded cheaters and had its legacy stained decides to give up clearing its good name because other things are more important when you are not guilty is not childish. It is standing up against being stabbed in the back.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to clear the Patriots name in the eyes of the public. History will be kind to us, but ask anyone on top, people will always try to bring you down, no matter what, *while* you are on top. Just accept it and enjoy being on top.

The owner of this team legitimized the stain on the franchise and essentially either admitted guilt or said he doesn't care. The rest of the public trying to bring down the team is one thing, the owner helping them is something else entirely.

No he absolutely did not. In fact he released thorough debunking of the accusations, and the public laughed, pointed, and still called us cheaters. There is NOTHING he can do, literally.

The Tuck Rule is not an accusation of cheating.

Not by the team but the NFL was accused of cheating for the Patriots because of 2001 and their team name... It used to be an asterisk.

You are kidding right? One of our best players from last year just brought it up and used it as proof of a pattern that we cheat. It is raised at least 10 times a year on NFLN. I have heard or read at least a dozen times in the last month that the Patriots were caught taping opponents practices in Spygate. Every commentary on this debacle say 'and they were guilty of cheating in Spygate'. The penalties we were just given were higher because of Spygate, and the announcement said it.

There are people who defend and people who bash. But let's be realistic, Revis is a New York Jet.

What do you call "at no time should the agenda of one team outweigh the collective good of the full 32"
This was his reason for accepting unfair treatment for the Patriots because unfair treatment of the Patriots is better for the collective good of the full 32.
That screams he doesn't care about the Patriots.

A fact of life. Don't be so emotional that you can't understand that matter of a fact statement. No matter how strongly you feel, if 31 other owners feel different and are saying "no", you can't do **** about it. You are a voluntary member of the group, you have 3% say, you can try to appeal to the others if you feel mistreated, but you don't have power to dictate. Raising a public stink does absolutely nothing but hurt everyone, it would be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

He is emotional because he knows he screwed the fans. He wished he didn't have to, but he will side with The Elite rather than The Help.

You desperately need perspective. He didn't screw the fans, maybe you're too wrapped up in your bubble. Personally I'd still much rather be a fan of the Patriots than any other team today. They can accuse the Pats of cheating all they want, deep down everyone knows the Patriots are just better than their team. I don't care, give me the titles.

I would love for Kraft to lose the team and be replaced by someone who will protect its image and legacy.
The Patriots would not be damaged on or off the field by fighting punishment for something they are not guilty of.

You are being overly naive Andy.

Then Kraft would have won easily too.

Not even close, unions and business owners have completely different avenues and responsibilities.

And the lemmings will keep handing him their money.

So you're never going to contribute to the NFL again? Maybe you should start by not investing emotionally into it on a messageboard?

Anyway, a very apt way to end, since there is such a massive misconception about lemmings.

You've been crying in thread after thread.

The percentage of fans who are following this in detail is negligible and that includes Patriots fans. People don't have the attention span for anything, most people just see it as a headline during their day and make their presumptions without ever caring about a single detail.

Just look at how the media and public took their attempted rebuttal. They found one single thing to harp on and laughed the entire thing away saying that there is no way deflate means losing weight. It's impossible for the Patriots to sway public opinion, people believe what they *want* to believe, that's just a fact of humanity. Large amounts of people believe all sorts of nonsense from anti-vaccination to climate change denial, facts are quite literally meaningless, people formulate opinions based on their cognitive biases and that's that. No one believes the Patriots, no one will ever believe the Patriots, no matter what Kraft does, no one will ever believe the Patriots, because the Patriots are on top.

Maybe Kraft intended on fighting the league but eventually thought better of it, maybe he saw the terrible reception of the facts from the website, maybe he realized that it's an impossible battle, who knows, but people need to stop pretending that Kraft is all-powerful or that he doesn't care about his own organization.

Fighting a long losing battle just to make some fans feel better doesn't make a lot of sense. At best, it does absolutely nothing to help the Patriots on or off the field, at worst, it directly hurts them on or off the field.

Yes, but he didnt have to do it the way he did. I have no problem with Kraft laying down his sword in terms of taking actual action against the league. I dont like the way he said it, but would accept it, IF the other side took the same sort of approach.

But then Goodell got up and softened NOTHING. The continued rhetoric of integrity of the game, as if this alleged rules violation actually undermined the integrity of the game, is sickening. IT was the same deal with spygate.

The league could have spun both stories VERY differently, in a manner that was consistent with reality. They could have been transparent regarding the severity of the alleged offenses / given them some context. Even beyond the false leaks, they have allowed and cultivated a public perception that is drastically different than reality. Even if you want to be tough and severely punish someone for a transgression, there are much better ways to do it - -especially when we are talking about "one of your own" 32.

The point is that any Pats fan who gives a damn should be rightfully outraged, instead of trying to rationalize his decision.
I'm worn out. After months of having your team get kicked in the dirt their just comes a point where you just don't care anymore.

I care about the Patriots team. But I've had it with deflategate And the owner who has two faces.

You care just enough to troll on a subject you claim to be in agreement with your trolling victims on. Good for you!
