Goodell: There was no "deal" to reduce Brady's suspension. Kraft caved in on his "own initative"

This just goes to show that the negotiations between Goodell and Kraft went something like this. Kraft: "Hey Goodell, we know you don't have any proof and would lose in a court of law if we sue you, why don't you just lower the Penalties."

Goodell: "No"

Kraft: "Ok, we'll accept all penalties".

My reaction after the conference

So either the NFL or Benedict Bob lied about McNally/other guy. Now it is very likely the NFL lied because they always lie. But then on the other side we have a complete coward in Kraft. Tough call.

Goodell openly challenging Brady to basically hand all his cards over, pushing the idea Tom has had something to hide. Yeah, Kraft really fell on the sword for his HoF QB.

"We're just going to chill"? Is Kraft 14 years old now?

No, he just doesn't care what anyone thinks but the "31". He knows that the stadium will be full on opening day. He'll deal with the boos while he's counting the money he makes on the gate and the parking and the concessions.

If there is a deal in place, he has to at least act neutral. NoT that it matters 100 % of USA doesn't trust him.

It's amazing that Kraft couldn't even negotiate bringing the 1st round pick down to a 2nd. He clearly didn't try to fight at all.

What does Goodell want with Brady's phone? What does he expect to find that he doesn't have?http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/21/sports/football/roger-goodell-says-patriots-decision-to-accept-punishment-is-not-tied-to-tom-bradys-appeal.html?_r=0… pic.twitter.com/IN6V9AOrJ9

Brady Text Messages That Would Cause Goodell to Ignore Wells Report: "Everybody with the Patriots, totally never cheat. Ever. Got that?"

Yup Kraft got ZERO concessions from Goodell. He just decided to lift up his skirt and take it in order to 'please' the other 31 owners in the NFL.

From Roger's own lips:
“The decision that Robert made was his decision,” Goodell said. “This was his initiative and something he wanted to do. I certainly admire the step he took.”

Asked if Kraft’s action, which will diminish some of the rancor and embarrassment for the N.F.L. in the episode, would in any way affect Brady’s appeal, Goodell responded, “No.”

Luckily the NFL is about to get embarrassed big time on the Adrian Peterson front.

And then the NFLPA will follow up that big serving of humble pie by tearing up the Wells report as well as Vincent/Goodell's ruling in federal court. I'm pretty sure that Goodell's appeal 'hearing' will be a mockery of justice and just provide more ammo for the NFLPA.

Or he wants to resolve it without going to court .If brady shows his phone and it has nothing goodell will show he is a a very 'fair' man and overturn his suspension. That is the reason he is offering brady a carrot to ditch the nflpa and talk to him one on one. Why didnt goodell just do this before handing out the punishment ? Even Don Yee said in numerous radio interviews that tom would be receptive to give his side to the commissioner but he hasnt heard from them

I don't know where to put this but it looks like history might be repeating itself:

So for all those folks who thought Goodell and Kraft made a deal. I guess this kind of clears that question up! Thanks Bobby, this is much better now!

Even Goodell tells the truth once in a while.

I woke up today rather 'lethargic' when it comes to anger over this

The NFL front office is such a lying bag of poo that isn't listening, but leaking toxic waste regularly

responding to Brady? I didn't know Brady said anything

The only thing that would work for me now is a bowel-shaking lawsuit by Brady and the NFLPA over routine slandering by the league over its players. Every action by the NFL in this process was to slander a player. 'Integrity' in the league is a fraudulent word to cover for the desire to have monopolistic control over players.....I hope Brady makes a stand....the way this one turns out will impact the league for a long time......Brady has the standing and the situation to make the ground shake.....I believe that Brady has an opportunity to make the biggest play in his career with this.....
