and change commissioner discipline forever. According to his twitter

If Kraft cut a deal for Brady he's even more of a coward, if that's possible. Brady and the NFLPA need to blow this whole rotten thing up.

I 100% believe that this is what Brady and the PA are going for and they are smart as hell to do it. And I bet they succeed. But imagine how much better it would be if Kraft got behind Brady and presented a true united front. They might have been able to expose the league on two fronts. There was a real chance that the Patriots came out of this looking good. YOU BLEW IT BOB. F.UCK YOU. Brady is going to get cleared and then hopefully give you the finger and demand his release.

Argh I still can't believe this.

A few years from now, I think we might look back at the NFL's biggest mistake here as being that they served up such an easy case to the union. This really has to be the dream case for them. The richest player in the league and reigning SB MVP (and most popular player worldwide thanks to his following in Brazil) is suspended based on a shoddy, agenda-driven report that still can't conclude with any level of confidence that a) any rules were violated, and b) that Brady had anything to do with it?

Yes please. Kessler is salivating right now.

I think there really was little Kraft could do and with super slim chances of succeeding. After weighing his options it probably didn't look bright, to be honest.

Tom Brady is again the guy that has to make the success by not only now carrying his team on his shoulders, but his coaches, organization and fans. This is bigger then the super bowl. This for all the glory right here. Tom Brady will either be known as a player that will have his success questioned, or be the guy that changed the NFL not only on the field, but even how it conducts itself in the NFL office. This is what it all comes down, bigger then any game he's been in.

If this is true, it is great news.

When does Brady's appeal take place?

I'm sure going to bat over a wife beater is not what they want for a landmark case, so now they have Brady. Basically they have a perfect gentleman, big winner, charitable person given an insane punishment with no hard evidence, and plenty of league corruption. Oh, and he's insanely wealthy and successful. And they violated league rules by not having Goody make the punishment. And even if there was a rule violation the manual says 25K, and they've done nothing in similar cases. And they've punished him for not giving personal texts but they don't have subpoena power.

If the NFL ever was going to serve a meatball than I think this is it. The NFL owners do not even realize they've allowed their village idiot to do this. Even after Goodell has lost cases much less clear. They should be very concerned about this idiot, but they are not.

We shall see what the court thinks.

They never read the wells report, i doubt goodell or vincent read it, they think a neutral arbitrator will act like the albert breers or ben volins haha

and then goodell cancels the appeal, releases a statement that says "upon further review, tom did not appear to have an involvement" no apology, and recinding of the patriots penalty, just a paper thing removal of hte suspension thus removing the appeal, thus removing the ability for a lawsuit. Goodell comes out of it like a bandit, single handedly defeating the evil empire, tarnishing the legacy of the dynasty, and ruining the credibility of one of its stars, while at the same time looking humble by getting rid of bradys suspension.

the nfl screws the patriots, Kraft takes it like a fool, and brady's credibility goes down the toilet for most of the country.

Kraft stabbed the cornerstone of this franchise in the back.

its enough to make you sick.

I'm starting to think this whole "excess penalty" is some huge NFL-NFLPA power play over the NFL's desire to be able to confiscate phones, or other communications devices, at will despite them having to right to do so. I'm not a lawyer, I certainly can't say for sure but we all know there's such a tiny bit of evidence for such monumental penalties. It seems like the perfect (imperfect for us) storm of the NFLPA having a superstar client vs. the NFL having the whole country's angst against the perennial cheaters so they can punish them however they like.

If your employer wanted to search your personal phone, would you tolerate it? F that. I sure as hell wouldn't. So why should Brady?

I think I am beginning to see why Kraft caved. The other owners are pressuring him because Brady and the NFLPA finally have a case where they can take them to the cleaners.

Wipe them out, all of them.

I think you are generally on to something.
Of course we already know the league office operates with PR as it's underlying system of values. But no doubt in my mind the league, hopefully! it is ultimately a gross miscalculation, sees this as bigger than just .4 PSI of air missing from some footballs. They were looking to reshape or shore up the commissioner's office power. They gotta be sick and tired of being smacked down by neutral third parties.
Conversely, it would be hard to understand how the NFLPA does not see this as a solid opportunity to reshape the landscape of commissioner enforced punishment.

As others have said, this is probably the optimal fight the NFLPA was looking for. Other fights were much more procedural regarding players whose guilt wasn't really in question. Those were largely 'the punishment was too unfair'. Now they have a fight that they not only can they have that same fight on the procedure but they also can fight the process of declaring guilt.

Time to go SCORCHED EARTH on the barrel of monkeys known as the NFL League Offices and the "band of 32" billionaires club! Embarrass the Hell out of Them!

And if Robert Kraft approaches Brady to urge him to 'accept the commissioner's decision' he should just respond with a polite, "You're out of your mind sir. Besides this is out of my hands, it is the NFLPA's case now."

It's a pretty sad day when your team's owner is revealed as nothing more than a league sycophant who was just "posturing" the whole time in an effort to appease the fans, but when push came to shove, he willingly bent over and took it from Goodell in a bid for approval from the other "31 owners". Krafty, "See, I can take it with no lube! Please keep inviting me to those awesome VIP parties! Who needs a Legacy or Honor, when I can get free hookers and blow?"

for some reason, i doubt anything will happen.
brady's out for 4 games. anyone who believes kraft " cut a deal " is naive. kraft doesn't give a **** about tb12

I do think Goodell will eliminate the suspension - and that hurts Tom's ability to sue. I think that Kessler wants him to be suspended.. It's a dream for them. Labor law is really strong in this country. Punishing guys for not turning over private phones - that's not going to fly..
