What if Brady folds?

This is a good question for everyone though.

Would we turn on Brady? I wouldn't think so but who knows.

He won't, but if he did I wouldn't hold it against him. He's banked enough good will over the years that I don't think I could even imagine a scenario where I turn on him. He could demand a trade to the Jets and I wouldn't even mind. He could take out the antitrust exemption in court and send the league toppling into extinction and I'd be borderline happy about it.

If Brady folded, then I think we really cheated. Then I will try to forget about this whole thing and become a NBA fan :-(

I'll wait on that one and see if it does happen rather than put myself through more emotional turmoil. Thanks.

If we're talking the TB12 we've known the past decade in a half there is no chance he'll fold barring a complete reversal of his suspension.

Do you think it's unrealistic to think TB12 has asked JJ to get it under 12.5 if possible? I fhink it's plausible. I also don't think it's cheating. They allow the qb's to do whatever the hell they want to make the ball as easy as possible for them to throw. A few tenths of PSI is about as important in the grand scheme of a football game as the halftime show.

I'm good with whatever Brady wants to do.

If he wants to submit to this tyranny I will understand.

If he wants to fight I will support him.

If he comes out tomorrow and says "I did it" I will forgive him.

There is very little Tom Brady can do to change my opinion of him.
My support is virtually unconditional.

He's earned the support and then some.
This times infinity

Good post. Its unrealistic to no longer be a Pats Fan based on this whole situation.

The NFL had Bob by the balls. Sure he could have fought but he would have lost and the cost would have been great on many levels.

For Brady the NFL has leverage and is much more powerful than than the NFLPA but has had success in the courts.

With that said it would be bad business for the NFL to ubhold the Brady suspension for Opening Night. It'll get dismissed via court eventually.

Most folks here would follow their attack on Kraft with an attack on Brady.

Hopefully, these folks are gone in a couple of months in any case.

I will always believe Tom is the best.

But if he folds, I am seriously going to question why he elected to appeal the decision at all and why his advisors recommended that path. After Clemens, Bonds, Rodney, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, etc., the simple lesson learned is if you broke the rules, then the most painless path to some degree of PR redemption is admission with spin. Shaking your fist in faux moral outrage when you are nailed never works out.

I think you misread folks badly. If Brady came out and said that for the sake of upholding the sanctity of the Commissioners disciplinary function I will no longer fight the suspension, then yeah a ****load of anger. If he came out and said I won't fight because I kind of did it the much more disappointment than anger

I can't see Brady Folding. There is no point to it. Either he wins or he losses. Nothing worse can happen. The only thing that can improve is his punishment.

Imagine if Brady is completely exonerated. And the Pats are still punished for deflating footballs even though the person who they said had knowledge of it was found innocent!

How will that work? Will Bobby say a word?

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. One big difference, for now, is that Kraft was very public in his defiance, firing up the fans, before inexplicably folding whereas Brady has been quiet so far.

Neither Brady or the NFLPA are going to fold. The NFLPA's appeal letter is point blank, quite hostile.

The NFLPA's plan to call Goodell to testify isn't a respectful request, it's a blunt demand: a shot fired across Goodell's bow without any sort of overture to diplomacy.

The second to last paragraph is quite clear: if Goodell does not recuse himself, they will seek legal remedy.

This thread is an insult to Tom Brady.
