Is he trying to be a good partner, or does he have the interests of the Patriots fans in mind?

Or is he arguing that being a good partner is in the best interests of Pats fans? Because I don't see how.

If he really believes this, and there's an explanation exactly WHY what he did was in the team's/fans' best interests, he'd better tell us. Otherwise he comes across as confused or totally clueless.

I also expect some sanctimonious media types to lecture the fanbase about how lucky we are that the Patriots are defending Superbowl Champs, and that we should count those blessings that other franchises don't have, etc.

Totally agree. It's easy to say he did it for the long term interest of the team but it completely lacks any substance. IF he really cares for fans (and not just their ca$h), he owes us an explanation as to the why.
