...why? Because $0...$0 would be coming out of his pocket. He was always about business then..and always will be. He isn't about the fans..only $$ and helping his $$ buddies out.

Kraft has done alot of great by new England but so has new England by kraft.

He turned his back on us, not the other way around. It's that simple.

I'm thinking that arguing that Kraft turned down an offer to have Hartford build him a stadium for free in favor of spending hundreds of millions of his own dollars to build a stadium in Massachusetts isn't the best example of Kraft only caring about money.

Not true about St. Louis. James Orthwein owned the team and was going to move it to SL. Kraft bought the team from him and kept it here.

In the past couple of years, in central CT, I've met countless Jets and Giants fans, 4 Dolphins fans, 2 Raiders fans (?), 2 Patriots fans, 2 Bills fans, and 2 Cowboys fans. Not exaggerating the numbers. Maybe it's my line of work.

Why anyone in NE would want to chose those teams over the Pats is beyond me.....I'm glad Kraft chose to stay in MA....CT doesn't deserve to be the home of the franchise.

(no disrespect to those diehard fans living in CT )

Little known fact: the stadium plan in Hartford was a non-starter doomed by environmental issues, forcing Kraft back to Foxboro. The Hartford site's unsuitability wasn't confirmed until partway through the planning process shortly after the deal with Connecticut's governor was struck. That's when Kraft pulled out. He then was going to rehab Foxboro Stadium before Finneran took mercy and got the state to kick in money for Route 1 infrastructure improvements needed to accommodate a new stadium. Had the environmental impact problem not stopped them in Hartford, the Pats WOULD be based in Connecticut today.

None taken. Although I always (selfishly) liked the idea of the team moving to CT. It would have certainly moved the boundary of fans further south and enlarged Patriot Nation. And CT has one of the higher per capita income levels (4th?) in the country, so would have been a savvy business move. He would still have retained all the fans in the Northern New England area.

I did feel jobbed by Kraft when he pulled out of the deal with the state. On the other hand, Governor Rowland was pretty corrupt and it's hard to say whether Kraft just didn't want to be in bed with him or whether the Governor was overstating the distance down the road that they had traveled together.

Well then that would make them not too bright.

As far as the CT move it was never really that close to happening. It was a ploy that Roland fell for to get Mass to pay for a new stadium.

He built a model stadium with his own money. $452 million dollars. I don't know any team that has done that.
