Let's get off topic here and talk some football.

What I am thinking is the longer that Dan Connolly is unsigned, he is either coming back or retiring. So lets say he returns next year. Here is what I got.

LT: Nate Solder
LG: Dan Connolly
C: Bryan Stork
RG: Ryan Wendell
RT: Sebastian Vollmer

G: Tre Jackson
T/G: Marcus Cannon
T/G: Cameron Fleming
C/G: Shaq Mason

I think they go into training camp and tell Jackson, Fleming, and Mason to go earn a starting position.

Just my opinion though.

We can go back to talking Kraft, Goodell, Brady, Boobs or whatever now.

Where is Jordan Devey? here is the evidence he can play LG
latest

I expect Jackson to be the RG with Mason and Fleming competing with Wendell at LG. Perfect world is Wendell as backup at all 3 interior spots. If these guys are legit we're seep on the OL and mostly young.

I agree and hope that is the case. Just know that BB likes Wendell and Connolly (if he returns) . Means those rookies are playing well if they beat out those two guys, imo.

I'm fine with Wendell starting if it means avoiding the catastrophically bad start the OL had last year. The difference is Jackson, Mason, Fleming appear to have actual talent unlike Devey and Cannon (at G, he was fine at T). I have zero issue with Wendell starting other than he's just average but a very versatile backup.

If Connolly or another starting LG is signed, I agree with you. And, we would have an OL much better than in 2014. Stork will have more experience. Wendell will have more experience at OG. After all, this is the group we ended with at the end of the season. Also, there is the vry obvious upgrade to Jackson and Mason, from Kline and Devey,

ISSUE ONE - CONNOLLY
Connolly has singed yet. Perhaps his concussion history and the relative lack of interest will cause him to retire. If this happens, I think that we will sign the best veteran we can get to compete for the starting role, or at very least be a veteran backup.

ISSUE TWO - WENDELL
Wendell did very well at RG. Jackson, Fleming and Cannon will have an opportunity to beat him out. However, I don't think that Belichick would LIKE Wendell to try yet another position. I see no reason to believe that Wendell is a better choice at LG than Kline, who might start if Connolly doesn't sign.

ISSUE THREE - JACKSON
Jackson is a plug and play RG. Either he is ready to start or he'll wait. I don't think that he's even a factor at LG.

BOTTOM LINE ISSUE - LG
This position is the only problem. We might be losing a starter, and we posters don't like the backup (Kline). If we don't upgrade Kline by signing a free agent, I could see Kline starting.
I suspect that Wendell is a better choice than Fleming, Cannon or jackson at LG.

WAIT AND SEE
Will Belichick sign a free agent or won't he? If not, then perhaps he simply thinks that Kline is ready to start, or that someone else is ready.
