He makes disingenuous decisions.
How is appointing himself as arbitrator protecting the integrity of the game? How is appointing a truly independent arbitrator who has no ties to the NFL, Brady, Patriots, or Ted Wells going to violate the integrity of the game?
If he really cared about the integrity of the game, he would appoint a truly independent arbitrator who has no dog in this fight (Wells was a paid consultant by Goodell) to examine all the evidence and hear both sides of the of the argument and come to a conclusion without any biases.
The only thing Goodell is trying to protect is whatever is left of the integrity of the Wells Report and his reputation. That is it.
