Kraft turning on Brady now too

I hope kraft is not using this an excuse to permanently move on from brady.

Kraft can ask Brady, for sure, but I would be surprised if Brady goes along with it.

Kraft can live with the cheater allegations. He's 70 years old, and has a very nice position within the NFL owners. This latest cheating allegation won't change anything about his future, his fortune nor his position within the NFL.

Brady is soon to be 38 years old. He will be done playing football in the not-too-distant future, and his future endeavors will be based on the legacy he built during his playing days. A cheating scandal will scar him for the rest of his life; if he has any political ambitions, he can kiss that goodbye if his name is attached to cheating allegations.

If the NFL do not want to go to court with Kessler, then there's only 1 option for them : exonerate Brady, and lift the suspension. But they could try to keep 1 or 2 games for lack of cooperation (so the other 31 teams will be happy), while issuing a statement saying that they recognize Brady is not guilty. Then it will be Kraft's job to convince Brady that this is a ''good'' thing. I would be very surprised if Brady fell for it, especially with the NFLPA behind him pushing to continue the fight.

I think Kraft may be surprised to find that, after being thrown under the bus like this, Brady's 15+ years of being the ultimate company man and team player have come to an end. I hope Brady tells him to **** right off.

Not surprising that Kraft would do pretty much anything to keep Brady out of court. Given how clearly he prioritizes the league over his team and his "fifth son", the last thing he wants is to give Kessler another crack at the CBA in court. And if that means trashing his "fifth son's" legacy, it's clear that he hardly cares.

This is what mike silver suggested nfl will do. Kraft is going to play with tom's emotions for his owner who took a chance on him vs the NFLPA who would want to fight. Brady is going to make one of them unhappy and its not a good situation for him to be in.

Frankly this is what I suspected. Goodell doesn't want to go to court with Kessler so he made a deal with kraft to reduce the penalty to 2 or 1 games as long as kraft makes sure Brady accepts it and doesn't go to court because if he does he is indirectly fighting the owners . I worry if Brady accepts this :(

There is a lot to this.

If Brady sues the NFL, the NFLPA has already been rumored to consider this the case that brings down the Goodell house. "The 32" would lose a lot as even though they probably don't care about Goodell their next commissioner would be powerless.
Freighteningly, this reversal could be:
"32" Bob, we have a problem. Brady can screw us.
"Kraft": So, we aren't guilty
"32" We know, thats why Brady can screw us. Wells F-ed up. Goodell F-ed up, so Brady will kill us in court.
"Kraft" But Tommy is a Patriot, so I'm on his side
"32" You can't be because it will hurt the league, Brady can bring us down, we need to stop this now. You have to stop helping him by fighting. Accept the punishment, and set the tone. Hopefully we can float a story out there that you gave in so we would cut you a deal on Brady. Then we will tell Goodell to take whatever answer he gives about the phone and say he really did cooperate and the penalty levied against the team is because it was a team thing, and Brady's suspension is reduced because he cooperated.
Your job is to make sure Brady takes the reduced suspension. So you need to get out there and talk about how the best thing for the Patriots is to end this, and that the honorable thing to do is accept the penalty. This will look like you are guilty so Brady will think his case is harder. If you must, tell Brady if he doesn't accept the penalty, he will be the next Mankins or Seymour.
Then we stay out of court.
"Kraft" My fans will hate me
"32" Better them than us.

I think the top priority for the NFL now will be to keep Brady from going to court. Now that Kraft has caved I am expecting Goodell to vacate Brady's suspension, and that is the last thing we should want.

The only way we will get any sort of satisfaction is for this to go to court where the league's shenanigans can be exposed for all to see.

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I'm going to not believe this one until I hear it from someone other than 'sources'

We've heard to many of these rumors over the last few months that turned out to be false.

Any of you guys actually read the article that was linked?
I didn't watch the attached videos and maybe I'm missing something here but I didn't see anything about Brady being coerced into caving.

I've predicted this before in a few other threads but I'll say it again, the lawyers better start prepping Bob Kraft because he will be called as a witness if and WHEN this goes to court. He will be asked by Brady's lawyers about conversations with Goodell......and guess what, neither of them are attorneys so those conversations are not privileged.....
It's going to get ugly and fast and I don't blame Tom Brady one bit...He's taken lesser salaries for the good of the team and franchise and this, THIS is what he gets in return???? He and Belichick are (along with Kraft) the main reasons that this franchise has increased in value as much as it has over the last 15 years. Without the on field success, the off field is not worth as much. You stand by your friends, you don't sell them out, that's what I learned growing up in New England....I also learned about principles and how some battles are worth fighting even if you can't win....if you want to retain some self-respect and be respected by others. They wear the uniforms of Patriots, people who embodied those ideas when they took an unpopular position and with a lot more on the line (from Ben Franklin " either we hang together or we shall hang separately") because it was the right, moral and just thing to do....

Rant over........temporarily

Winner. Kraft's capitulation is all about the CBA and maintaining the sweetheart deal they have with the players. The last thing the owners want is to face Kessler in court. Goodell is trying to save face by getting Brady to accept some punishment which would neuter any case Brady would have (an admitted cheater couldn't sue for defamation). The only thing TB will accept is complete exoneration and that won't happen. On to court

I wouldn't blame Brady for wanting to play for another team when his contract is up. Maybe that's the way to end his career. Win a sb with another team. I hate to say that but I would feel so betrayed if I was Brady. Brady should just come out and say he's playing for his teammates and the fans until his contract is up.

@RDS11: Brady harbored political ambitions once, but gave them up a while ago.

I'm amazed and saddened to see how quickly this board turned on the owner who was once considered a hero because he won't engage in a no-win fight. The sexual insults and the anti-Semitism are really disgusting.
Yes, it's sad how a single act by one can ruin their reputation for good. Happens all the time by good people and is a tenet I have tried to instill in my children. Kraft made a choice and decided to side with his fellow owners over TB and the reputation of his team and fans. These are the consequences.

Ok, you saw how the media railroaded the Patriots. Yet when they throw something like this out it must be true?

It would be absolutely inappropriate for Kraft to discuss this case with Brady. Odd as it may seem, Brady and Kraft are adversaries on this. All discussions must filter through formal legal channels.
Further, bet your last dollar that Kraft deep down wants Brady to prevail on this narrow issue. Find it appalling that Kraft capitulated, sure, however, you're fooling yourself if you don't think Kraft deep down wants Goodell to suck it! While Kraft can never state that publicly, human nature says it is impossible for him to just completely dismiss, forget what happened and think Rog is swell. Unless Kraft is from the planet Vulcan it isn't happening, no way now how...

That cant be true. We have to run Kraft out of town if true. How could he possibly love Goody so much?

Maybe Ricki Lander is Roger's kid sister.

From the article

Word is Kraft will try and talk with Brady and convince him to accept Goodell’s verdict after the appeal

I wonder if TB is going to respond to BK's caving? I pray TB fights. He takes any kind of suspension and he is admitting guilt. The thought makes me sick inside.
