Goodell: There was no "deal" to reduce Brady's suspension. Kraft caved in on his "own initative"

So, will it be "expected worst case scenario" or will it be a press conference that leads to screams of "corrupt bargain!"

Either way... what joy.

Yup. Nothing is happening w/ Brady. If it does, it will be some compromise that Brady will reject. If it's a full repeal of suspension, then the "fix is in". No win situation.

"In light of yesterdays admittance of guilt by Robert Kraft and in the interest of integrity, I am also removing the Patriots 2, 3, and 4th round picks for the 2016 Draft."

give us back the picks Roge...

"robert kraft refused to cooperate with us in the bathroom, there is a bigger penalty now: 1M more and the 1st round picks from 2016 to 2020"

Yup, that's yet another thing that pisses me off about what Kraft did yesterday. Now, even if Brady's suspension gets overturned, the narrative will never be "clearly the original punishment was ********".

I would much, much rather see this go to court than see Brady's suspension get overturned through some back-room dealing by Kraft that protects his interests as "1 of 32" at the expense of Brady ever getting a shot at exoneration.

He's going to add another 8 games to Brady's suspension to give other teams a fighting chance against us. It's "for the good of the other 31 teams."

Roger Goodell is not part of the Patriots organization, his speech should be broadcast on nfl.com not patriots.com , so this will be all about the Patriots and Deflategate I think.

We should really let Buffalo win the division next year. Our selfish agenda can't keep pushing the other teams out of the playoffs.

I really think this is what the 2-3 Kraft defenders still left are missing. Kraft has turned this into a "no-win" situation, because he not only sold everyone out, but he did it both after stirring them to fight AND at the worst possible time for Brady.

At this point, Goodell could say "We're dropping all punishments", and this would still be a loss for the Patriots legacy and a dagger in the back of the fan base. Kraft defenders don't get that.

We're winning too much. It's not nice to continuously pound the other 31 teams into oblivion year after year after year after year. Gotta give the other losers a chance. A redistribution of wins is surely in order!

Did you not hear Kraft yeaterday? The NFL is Kraft's organization. Therefore it'll be broadcast on patriots.com, a minor unimportant subsidiary.

just what pats nation needs, another kick to the groin

How anyone still gives a damn about any of this is beyond me. We're defending super bowl champs. Idgaf about the rest of it.

We know that Goodell and the owners want very badly for this case never to go before an independent arbitrator, never mind a federal judge. But Goodell would need a plausible reason to turn his back on his own report and its conclusions that Kraft already blessed to completely overturn the suspension.

"Brady suspension lifted"

Watch...that is what will happen. Anything to make sure the Wells report is kept away from the court.

Brady will not get justice.

If Goodell does that then, hopefully, he has taken his next baby step out the door. The dumb, medicated masses will howl and retch. "Cheaters always win!", "the NFL is a sham about integrity", "as long as you are Brady Roger will always make it better for you".
The NFL just went through a messy episode. Sure, they came on top but it was messy. They went through it for PR reasons (nothing to do with integrity) only now to submarine the PR?

I just don't see this ending for Brady, or the NFLPA, unless the Emperor's exact words are "we do not believe Brady cheated". If he says those words -- not happening -- then it has a tangible chance to go away right now.
