Kraft cut deal to allow Brady to dodge suspension...

Very irresponsible post on your part. This article basically states that MATT LIGHT FEELS there must be a deal in place, he has as much inside knowledge about Kraft taking it up the ass as you or I do.

It doesn't make him any less of a ****, even if it is true (which this report does not prove). Brady could have dodged or lessened the suspension through the appeal and taking the league to court. He didn't need Kraft to do anything behind the scenes. But, even then, I'm not buying it. Kraft essentially just left his quarterback, team, and his fans holding the bag AGAIN in the interest of his pocketbook and relationships with the other 31 owners. He ****ied out when he could have continued fighting to clear his team's name.

Brady can fight on his own and win.

Kraft needed to get the 1st round pick back.

The Patriots need that going forward.

I hear Zo spouting similar nonsense.

This is the only thing that would make me somewhat accept what Kraft has done - sacrificing the team's or the organization's reputation to save Brady's. But, I don't buy it. I think Matt Light is wrong (unfortunately). Kraft has sold out on everybody, including Brady. Disgusting. Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse, they become inexplicably worse. I am still numb from all of this and trying to decide what to do.

If you follow the time line the opposite occurred. They literally threw TB under the bus as part of their initial defense. No management or coach knew of this then they threw TB in front of the media to talk about how he prepares his balls for game day.

Kraft proclaims complete innocence demands the apology Drags TB into it and then ****ies out when the fight impacts his wallet.

that's the story as I see it. Convince me otherwise.

I'm getting pretty sick of all this speculation about a deal in place. First, it gives Kraft too much credit, his words yesterday were those of a company man doing the companies bidding, simple as that. If he spoke more as the owner of the New England Patriots I'd give him more credit but no, he's 'one of 32'.

Second, it implies wrongdoing...why does Brady need Kraft's help? We've all poured over the Wells report, the rebuttal, the various press releases and scientific analyses...this report is garbage and any independent arbiter would laugh it's conclusions out of court. So why would Brady need some shady backroom deal from Kraft to be exonerated? All that would do is give 31 fanbases the opportunity to (yet again) say that Goodell did a solid for his buddy Kraft.

No, F that, this needs to go to court. If Kraft won't clear the teams name and take on the pathetically inept NFL then Brady will do it for him.

I just think people are being foolish if they think kraft did it to help Brady at all. kraft backed down because he realized he had little support and didn't want be the owner that sued the league.

Why would Brady want that....zero reason to want that. Brady needs to clear his name and a fight is the only option.

This is Fight Club...Brady Version 1.0

God I hope not. I want this **** storm to go all the way to court and drag Goodell through the mud as long as possible.

There may be something to a deal.
Goody says
"Tom made us understand why he didn't had over his phone and
we agree with his reasons. Also there is no strong evidence that he gave the order
or was aware of the deflation of the balls psi specified by rule.
So we are removing the penalties on TOM.
However, we still believe the balls were deflated in the rest room and because of that rule violation
the penalties on Patriots organization remains as first specified. "

This could happen and Mr. Kraft may have agreed to something like this for the good of all concerned.

Would you all hate Mr Kraft if he did this? Or would you rather Mr Kraft go to court and risk losing in court
and everyone still believe Tom gave the order to deflate and have his legacy tainted forever.

Here's the thing. Based on all the leaks and so-and-so said this, I really think this could be true. Except Kraft got the suspension reduced and now must talk Brady out of appealing the reduced suspension. Goodell doesn't want to fight Kessler, Kraft doesn't want this to drag on and hurt "the 32", etc.

I could really see this being the case. Makes the press conference today at 2:30 another potentially 40 page thread, unfortunately.

Turns our Roger Goodell never existed....it was all Bob Kraft himself.

such an optimistic point of view.

nothing has gone our way during this " investigation "...so why should this? goodell owns kraft.

Personally, I don't think Brady playing in 4 early season games is more valuable than a first round and fourth round draft pick.

Not to mention I think it is a load of crap anyway. Kraft folded because he didn't want to get kicked out of the "owners club". Kraft doesn't care what a bunch of "poor" fans think of him he cares about being cool with the rest of billionaires.

Even if this ends up being true, don't mistake it for any kind of altruism. It most definitely won't mean that he fell on his sword for Brady. If anything, he screwed Brady even worse in order to protect his interests as 1 of the 32. None of the 32 want Brady and Kessler vs. the NFL in court. As Yee aptly noted, every time the NFL leaves Park Avenue, it loses. The NFLPA is prepared to neuter the commissioner in court (which is desperately needed, as the last few months have proved). If Kraft made a deal to get the suspension overturned, it's because he gladly sold out Brady's legacy in order to prevent that.

Glad other posters clarified before I broke my rule and clicked on a link to the Horrald. I haven't visited that web page or paid a dime for that piece of trash paper since Tomass.
