I Am Still a Patriots Fan. (Vent thread on status of being a Pats fan)

I'm definitely remaining a fan. I will always be proud of the Super Bowls and gladly wear my pats gear. I just ordered a new hat on Monday.

I moved away from New England and pretty much all of the NFL fans I know are fans of other teams. Most are telling me this whole thing is overblown. A few are throwing in jokes and jabs but in a lighthearted manner.

I haven't had a single person go all hard with the Cheatriots, asterisks, etc crap. I feel like a lot of that is just internet and talk radio trolling. I wear Pats gear often and have never heard a disparaging remark from a stranger here.

Just as I cheered for the Bruins pre-2004/05 strike when cheap-ass Jeremy Jacobs had Harry Sinden
do his bidding, so too will I cheer for the Pats. Their laundry still says the New England Patriots, not
the Krafty Bob Patriots.

However, I will not ever, evah purchase Officially Licenced "product" (as Bend Over Bobby loves to call our team) or spend any money at Patriots Place or Gillette (though I haven't been able to attend a Pats game since I moved away in 1992; but now I never will until Benedict Bob vanishes). Henceforth, I will buy
nothing but boot-legged gear such as my The Butler Did It tee-shirt and my They Hate Us 'Cause
They Ainus hoodie from Ebay.

Because boycotting Pats home games seems unrealistic, I feel that one of the more effective ways to voice
displeasure would be for those who will be attending games to simply enter, watch, then leave without
buying A FECKIN THING from concessions, pro shop or Traitors Place. It will ultimately be a small,
futile gesture, but what the hell.

I wonder how Jonathan feels about his dad's surrender. Is he OK with it, or did he disagree with Kraft
the Koward's decision?

very challenging but I am in....I hope TFB exhausts all possible avenues...he deserves much much better than this. Can't change the world but as far as I am concerned, he will always have my support.

I've been a fan since our SB against the bears. I was 22 and finnally started uderstanding the rules. I became a fanatical Pats fan when Parcels came on board and we became contenders every season. I'll never forget the feeling I had when we finnaly got our 1st title upsetting the Rams. Then the following predictions of Brady being a one hit wonder to winning the next 2 out of 3.
Then Cameragate happened. It really didn't bother me so much as it seemed like obviouse sour grapes and technically, we did violate the rule. I still don't feel we deserved the "cheater" tag as cheaters hide their hand, not just reach into the deck for all too see.
I just moved on hoping it would dissapate and fans of the game would eventually realise how overblown it was and most people not Jets fans did.
This is different. In one fell swoop Kraft has tarnished the legacy of the Pats, Brady, and Belichick. Moving foward, the bottom line is every NY, Balt, Pittsburg, Denver, Indy, and any other franchise we've embaressed in the post season will point out we were busted for cheating. Twice. 2 freaking # 1 picks in the last decade and for what? Minor infractions and this time there's not even any proof.
I watched football because it was fun. It's no longer any fun. I can not defend a team that can't even defend itself.

Honestly I don't know what I'm going to do. I've been a Patriots fan since the 80's and can't really picture it any other way. There's obviously anger and indecision because I keep going from one conclusion to another. I have no trouble whatsoever supporting losers, but either cheater or coward just simply isn't appealing and I don't know how they will get out from under this.

It's not about the Patriots. It's about the NFL. Kraft says so. As long as the league is doing well, what do I care about any team(s)? Of course, applying this Krafty approach does not bode well for the Pats (or any other team). Personally, I don't like the NFL, but I like the Pats. So, I might have to opt out completely.

It's more of a dilemma for me.

I've been a big NFL fan over the years along with being a Pats fan.

I hate who's running it and what it's become, but if a game is on I can't help but tune in for my love of the sport and game.

Really my hope is in the future that some other league takes over or Goodell one day goes down in flames.
