Maybe we just cheated?

Read the Wells Report. There is no proof that the Patriots did anything, and it's not for lack of trying that Wells and his stooges didn't turn up a single piece of evidence.

Kraft folded because it's not worth millions in legal fees to recoup $1 million and a couple of draft picks.

What's sad is that Kraft owns the whole Monopoly board...he's worth what, 2600 million ****ing dollars. One would think that spending a tiny fraction of that to clear his name and team would be the only right thing to do. **** you, Kraft....

I have been bashing Kraft for a shade under 24 hours now.

And IMO there are only two valid outcomes. Kraft acted on behalf of his wallet or we actually cheated.

I almost want to believe we cheated because the other option feels so insulting.
Maybe, but then why isn't there any evidence? Why hasn't anyone actually admitted it? Why did Kraft profess our innocence, but as soon as the owners meetings started suddenly backed down???

I have said this before and have been accused of being a troll.

The owners are all friends..

The owners are the ones who put Goodell in..

These are the same owners who approved Krafts purchase of the Pats.. or who Kraft approved..

As far as a "smoking gun" anything is possible.. as much as this seems to us to be no big deal we have been a target since "spygate" and the gotcha game.. there has to be something involved the public isn't aware of..

I don't accept the notion that every Pats fan is brilliant and knows this subject perfectly while every other fan is just a jealous dummy...

Feels like persecution, but we will never know
...

I think Kraft arrived in SF expecting reasonable support from his fellow owners and quickly realized, as I and other here predicted, that he's alone on an island. Mr. All-powerful, Assistant Commissioner, Most Influential Owner has been de-nutted.

Damn I guess I am just wishing Because after everything I'ld rather we cheated than be kicked so squarely in the balls by Kraft.

Florio confirmed just now on WEEI ...it was a bag job ... by someone or a few who knew that by leaking the info Goodell would be powerless to stop any of it lest he look weak and uinformed.

IMO ... This was like an old style lynching of a potential criminal back in the day where the crowd demanded immediate action ... facts be damned.

Florio said the disinformation campaign worked to subvert the real PSI numbers that when taken with the Logo gauge jived with the ideal gas law.

So we got punished due to a successfull dis information bag job ....that is it in a nutshell. We got lynched ... old west style.

Which is why I will never ever spend a dime on anything NFL or watch any more sports anything Just pats games and that it and even that may change. Like I have been preaching. Whiner teams and fan bases only hope of beating us was cheating. How ironic.

This whole phucking mess is so much bigger than the actual act of deflating air from footballs, whether intentional or not. It all stems from how the story was released to the likes of Mortensen and Kravitz, the actual idea of a "sting" operation being orchestrated by a couple of ***hats like Kensil and Grigson, the handling of it by the media, the so-called "independent" report accusing Brady of "probably" knowing with no actual evidence, the harshness of the penalties with no such precedence ever taking place, the initial anger by Kraft to total capitulation all coming on the heels of winning the elusive 4th Lombardi and placing Brady and BB on the pedestal as the greatest to ever exist. All of this due to a little bit of manipulation in footballs. Something that almost every QB in the game does to the ball and doesn't really impact the actual game. Believe whatever helps you feel better, but I will always resent Kraft for giving in to that phucking little d-bag Goodell.

In addition, the very fact that the way this whole thing transpired doesn't seem to be of much concern to Fuhrer Goodell. That right there is all I need to know about the importance about the "integrity" of the game. How do you think this whole drama would've played out under the leadership of Pete Rozell or Paul Tagliabue? Very different in my opinion.

Wonder what BB will say, hope he doesn't support Kraft.

If we cheated, then we probably will rule the world because we figure out a way to deflate footballs and then also have them back to exactly that correct psi they should be at at halftime.
How could we cheat if the footballs measured exactly what footballs that started at 12.5 psi would measure after being outside that day?
Did we commute the laws of physics?

I hope he says:

The rhetoric about this has gone on too long. I have two choices extend it or end it. I hope you will trust me that I am doing whats best for the NE Patriots, Bill Belichick and my players, and accepting that I don't want to work for the guy that just sold us out, so he can accept my resignation, and he should not bother to appeal that either.

That should have made him want to fight more.

You've been listening to too much Felger. Even if Brady lied and the team "cheated," it wasn't proven by the Wells report and no way in hell were those outlandish penalties warranted. Kraft could have saved face with fans with at least a token appeal and then let it go. That's all he had to do.

They probably did "cheat." When did Pats fans get so stupid as to fall into the trap of taking the position that either they were 100% innocent or they deserve the punishment. It's never been about that (at least not for me). This is about the absurd overreaction in the media and amongst fans and the ridiculous punishment which lacks any and all sense of proportionality and likely violates the CBA. A punishment that Kraft has contributed to by creating the monster that is Goodell and now being either unable or unwilling to put him in check.

Who cares if they deflated the balls? Why did you all get sucked into being wingnuts who were certain the Pats were innocent in the first place. All you did is undermine our credibility and make us look like a bunch of farcical crazies in denial. Instead the argument is and always was that the Pats were targeted for a minor rules violation, the media started spinning an absurd narrative and the Pats were forced to deny it because god only knows what would have happened had they admitted it before the superbowl. Then we were hit with the hammer because Kraft's boy is an incompetent union-buster whose faulty barometer for public outrage dictates his every action and that's how the owners likes it.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that he will pick one or two of his favorite cliches to the effect of "that's over and done with .... on to the next thing."

I think there is a good chance the Pats did cheat. However the punishment is way over the top as was the need for an independent investigation.

Just fine them and take a 4th or 5th and be done with it like you would anyone else. This is a speeding ticket and the Pats got busted for a DUI,
