Maybe we just cheated?

I have been bashing Kraft for a shade under 24 hours now.

And IMO there are only two valid outcomes. Kraft acted on behalf of his wallet or we actually cheated.

I almost want to believe we cheated because the other option feels so insulting.

If the Patriots did commit conspiracy to deflate a football, since we know the balls weren't actually deflated by the IGL, there's no way it warrants all this. Especially considering teams are pumping in crowd noise, texting people on the field, etc.

Cheated the laws of physics and then deflated the footballs. Should be banned from time and space imo.

Kraft goes to an owners meeting and suddenly changes his tune. Does that imply
(a) 31 owners got on his case about supporting the 'shield' and threatened him financially
(b) coincidentally some smoking gun evidence suddenly surfaced against the Pats

I hear you. Then why fight it vigorously for four months? They outright denied any wrongdoing for the entire process. Kraft did what was best for the 32 owners. He said it yesterday:

“What I’ve learned over the last two decades is that the [heart and soul] of the strength of the NFL [is] a partnership of 32 teams. What’s become very clear over those two decades, at no time should the agenda of one team outweigh the collective good of the full 32."

Read the Wells Report. There is no proof that the Patriots did anything, and it's not for lack of trying that Wells and his stooges didn't turn up a single piece of evidence.

Kraft folded because it's not worth millions in legal fees to recoup $1 million and a couple of draft picks.

That quote is so bad, maybe we shouldn't win every season because it's not fair that some teams don't make the playoffs for a long time? We can't let our selfish agenda keep Buffalo out of the playoffs every year.

If the Patriots did, there's absolutely no proof. Footballs have never been guaged at halftime before the AFCCG so there's no historical evidence that footballs have maintained their PSI throughout a game that includes being fallen on by 300+ pound men, getting hit when the runner gets hit, kicked, etc.

Kraft better hope that Brady cheated now........because if the evidence bears out that he did not, then Kraft will need to go into hiding

feeling that we cheated seems better in this situation. after all that has happened in the last 5 months, i can justify in my head that letting air out of footballs in a bathroom in 90 seconds to exact numbers for a competitive advantage that wasnt there and then destroying the Colts in the 2nd half with properly inflated balls makes so much sense.

I'm sorry but I just cannot get over the fact that the NFL and another team ran a sting on Kraft's team and both he, the other 30 owners (f*ck the Colts) and Goodell are ok with that. That plus the leaks and all the behind the scenes non-sense - if Kraft is worried about the NFL then that has to be cleaned up.

If not then the NFL is just a sporting version of the mafia with Don Goodell.

Do not insult our intelligence, as well as your own, by giving even momentary consideration to the thought that 'we might have cheated'.

Are you really that insulated from reality that you can't understand that Kraft isn't a victim here - he is one of the most powerful and influential owners - that he chose not to fight this is all you need to know.

How can there be a crime with no evidence?

Understand that Kraft has opted voluntarily to handicap his own team - to give the other teams a chance - to stop hogging all the wins and the titles.

Kraft is an NFL man who happens to run this franchise, not the other way around.

Think about it...we all know how f#cking cheap Kraft is; he's probably psyched now he doesn't have to pay a first round pick next year and will probably testify against Brady so his suspension is UPHELD so he doesn't have to pay his salary for 4 games...Benedict Arnold Kraft....

If there was a smoking gun it should have come out in the Wells Report. There wasn't anything. It's much more simple. Kraft cares about the league over the organization.

I wonder when those guys put some thought into the sacrifices they made while on the Pats, how they will feel when they conclude that Kraft just **** all over them

Even if they did actually commit the unconscionable crime of the century of letting a tick of air out of a football, you don't accept the ridiculous punishment, especially without a shred of proof. Kraft is a pathetic coward who doesn't deserve the good fortune of having Brady and Belichick. He and the rest of the NFL office can all go to Hell.
