Curran:Kraft did the right thing for the wrong people

As bad as it is to be a fan of Bob Kraft's team today, can you imagine how it must feel to be a player or a coach for the Patriots?

You've just had been on the biggest roller coaster ride in NFL history, you've had the entire country unjustly attack you, and it ended with your boss throwing you and your teammates under the bus in front of the world

I wonder how Bill Belichick is feeling today. Would anyone blame him if he sent Kraft a napkin with the words "I resign as HC of the NEP"?

I feel like a Pats Fans outlier today as much as I deplore what Kraft did, cannot voice the hate that most of you all feel..

I have been a Pats Fan forever and will go to my grave with unwavering support of this franchise..

I do agree with the premise of this thread, Kraft did the right thing for the wrong people.

I also think it is time for Mr. Kraft to pass the torch...

I don't think any (many) of us are going to be switching teams. Just that "we" as fans won't be as locked in. My schedule was built around watching the games on Sunday (and they will be until I see Brady/BB go). But, it may not be as important to me after that. I'll be able to compromise my other "life" duties over football (simply said, just less rabid).

for example. I'm a Red Sox fan and always will be. But, I think I've only checked the standings once this baseball season and maybe get an update once a week from my dad I may be more like that with the Patriots or I may be more interested in baseball.

Guess Kraft did myself and my family some justice as it is just a pastime and nothing really important in life. I never let wins or losses affect my emotions too much (post season was the only time it might have had an impact on me for more than a day or two).

I've lost that lovin' feeling.

Nope.
Gave up the Red Sox
Gave up my Celts.
Walking away post Brady or even before will not be hard now
Thanks, Kraft!

He seems tired, worn out. Not surprising.
Seriously missing the Mrs I would bet.
Best timing may be banner hanging day.
Last thing he does is put up number 4.

I wonder how Bill Belichick is feeling today.

He is focused on the day's tasks, as usual. Emotionally we can be certain he is
ready to chew nails, anxious to use this to make his reigning Super Bowl Champions
acutely aware of the fact that they get no respect, are being called illegitimate,
that they are being accused of have stealing something that does not belong to them,
that they are a fraud.

You must prove it, again. And again. Each play, each man, one play at a time.
Note very few current players running their mouth?

Honestly, I can't wait. So far beyond a "game".

OT
I made the mental mistake of expecting a BB quality game plan and execution.
Game plan, adjustments, late comeback and a win.
Right now it looks like a series of knee jerk reactions.

Brady fight is ahead, of course. It ain't over, people.
We need a red zone turnover, in the form of an equalizer of a leak.
Payback for the Mortensen lie.

I am done.

No way I can support a team that has an owner that caves in like this. We as fans got thrown under the bus seven years ago, and now we have been thrown under the bus again.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, shame on me.

Whatever back-room deal may have been worth it to Mr. Kraft, but it is not worth it to me.

It has been an extreme pleasure interacting with each and every one of you over the years, but I bid you all adieu. Best wishes for all of you.

If true, then I'll miss you j. You have been informative, understanding, humorous and insightful
throughout your postings; i.e., a perfect remedy to my lunacy. Take care, and Lord help us all.

Oddly if I drift back toward any professional sport...I'll probably take up the NBA. Even though the Celts aren't very good.

IMHO, Bobby Kraft sided with the Shield over the logo. He spoke yesterday of how the fraternity of 32 was so important to him, how he felt when he became a member! Bobby, enjoy your time at the country club, but don't ask for anyone's else's help when your limo breaks down, doubt that you will get it.
